Bible Verse of The Day – 9-9-20

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NKJV) 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

We are living in an age where anything goes.

Morals have been degraded to the point where there is very little that is considered to be truly wrong.

Babies are killed by the hundreds of thousands each year while still in their mother’s womb.

Children are stolen and trafficked for sex.

The holy institution of marriage has been largely destroyed and nullified.

The traditional family, established by God, has been torn apart.

People are told that they can choose their own gender based on how they feel on any given day, despite what their biological body parts tell them.

Men are allowed to enter the restrooms of women, and those women (including little girls) are powerless to stop it.

And the list could go on, and on and on.

Depravity has become the norm, as a large percentage of people across the globe accept this behavior and say or do nothing to stop it.

And sadly, even members of the body of Christ have embraced some of this as being OK.

We are here today to stand and boldly proclaim that none of this is OK. None of this is acceptable in God’s sight.

It was said by God in His word that it is wrong, and that still holds true today.

This may not be popular to speak or to say. It may anger some. It may bring the wrath of some others upon us for speaking it. But truth is still truth, no matter what century we are living in.

In the verses above, Paul is speaking to the church; Christians, not the world.

He was making it clear that this is not acceptable behavior for believers. And he did so in no uncertain terms, with no apologies.

If you are unsure about any of this, we implore you to dig into God’s word and seek the truth. Everything we need in order to find truth is there. We just need to seek it out.

That truth will set us free if we let it. It will break the chains of bondage if we let it. It will transform our hearts and minds, and change our lives in ways that we could never imagine, if we let it.

Will we let it?

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-3-12

(Mat 15:18-19 NKJV)  “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. {19} “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

In its original context, this verse goes on to explain that eating with unwashed hands does not defile a man or make him unclean.

Jesus used this example to teach us that what’s in our hearts is what defiles us, not whether we have washed our hands or not.

He also used it to teach us that what’s inside of us will eventually make its way out of our mouths.

Have you ever caught yourself saying something that was contrary to what you know God would want you to say? Maybe you used some language that you know in your heart was not pleasing to God. Or maybe you lashed out at someone in anger, and then regretted it later on.

We all make these mistakes at times. The important thing is that we learn from them.

First, we need to learn self control. But more importantly, we need to understand that this is showing us who we really are inside; what’s hiding there in the darkest recesses of our heart.

This isn’t something that we should beat ourselves up about, but something that we need to go to God with and ask Him to take those things out of our heart and replace them with His love, grace, mercy and compassion.

God is the best surgeon there is when it comes to fixing hearts!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-28-12

(2 Cor 6:17 NKJV)  Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

I’d like to share something today, in love, hoping to bring some awareness to the church regarding a message that doesn’t get talked about much anymore.

God has commanded us to “come out from among them and be separate”. What does this mean?

He wants us to separate ourselves from the world, but not so much in a physical sense, whereby we would leave society and stay away from everyone who isn’t a child of God.

What God really wants is for us to separate ourselves in the way we conduct our lives. He wants us to remove ourselves from the ways of the world and not follow the ways of the ungodly, falling into sin and immoral living.

The body of Christ has become desensitized to the ways of the enemy and an “unholy mixture” has pervaded the church. We have taken on the standards of the world with regard to our entertainment, our daily habits, the way we talk, the way we present ourselves and the way we live in general.

God is calling us back to Him and His ways. He is calling us to come out from among them and be separate.

Let’s examine our lives and check ourselves. Let’s ask God to show us where we need to make adjustments and let Him shape our lives.

He will be faithful to show us.
