Bible Verse of The Day – 12-18-21

Matthew 17:22-23 (NKJV) 22 Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, 23 and they will kill Him, and the third day He will be raised up.” And they were exceedingly sorrowful.

As I was reading this, something in this verse caught my attention. Jesus was speaking in the 3rd person as He prepared His disciples for what was to come.

Instead of saying, “they will kill Me”, He said, “and they will kill Him”. Instead of saying, “and I will be raised up on the third day”, He said, “He will be raised up”.

But yet He is speaking of His own crucifixion and resurrection, not of someone else.

Why would Jesus say these things in the 3rd person?

Because it was God Himself, speaking of the fleshly incarnation of God (the Son), Jesus Christ, and what He was about to go through for us.

1 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

God, manifested in the flesh, was Jesus!

He walked among us. And He was about to be betrayed, killed, and then raised up on the 3rd day! Hallelujah!

Together, both God in the Spirit and God in the flesh accomplished what was required in order to make salvation available to humanity, offering freedom for all who put their trust and faith in Christ. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-20 – God With Us

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

As we draw near to Christmas, we wanted to share a special message that really isn’t related to the celebration of the birth of Christ, but more about a significant aspect related to His birth and His time here on earth.

In today’s video, God With Us, we discuss and teach on two different facets of His birth and His life that we think will help bring understanding where therePlease click to watch the video now. may not have been understanding before.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to give it a watch.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-15

Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

God with us.

Those three words change everything for those who understand them.

We’ve taught on this before, but it’s always good to touch on important things again once in a while.

The word could have said “God is with us”. But it didn’t. It said “God with us”. There is a vast difference between those two phrases, but many people don’t realize the difference, so let’s take a look at it for a moment.

You see, the name Immanuel literally means “God with us”, not “God is with us”.

Saying God is with us is a very general statement that could be taken many different ways.

But saying God with us literally means that Jesus is God, with us.

He is God and He is with us.

God is here, with us. He is among us, living with us, dwelling with us and spending time with us, in person.

God with us. Do you see it?

So as you begin to see the reality and the scope of this, it brings a whole new meaning to that phrase and to why He was called Immanuel.

It takes the notion of God being a distant entity somewhere out there in the universe, and destroys it. It shows us that God chose to come to earth in the form of a man and live among us. Hence, God, with us.

Ponder on this for a bit and try to let it sink in. And then praise Him for the reality of the fact that He did come and dwell with us.

He is God, with us!
