Category: Finding Rest in Jesus

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 4-1-26

Matthew 11:28 (LSB) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Life can be tough, even brutal at times.

Change is the only real constant.

Sometimes that change can send us reeling.

Other times it is not the change that gets us, but the ongoing battles that we face.

We can feel like our very life is getting sucked right out of us, literally.

We all face this at various times. No one is exempt.

And the things we face are vastly different from one person to another.

But the cure for our weariness and lack of hope is never different. It is the same regardless of who we are or what we’re facing.

And that cure is not a thing or a method. It is Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us.

God in the flesh, who walked among men here on earth in human skin, is the answer to our fears, our worries, our anxiety, our hopelessness, and our afflictions.

He will alleviate our fears, give us hope, carry our burdens, and heal our broken spirit.

All we have to do is trust Him. If we can do that, He will help us with the rest.

Will you trust Him today with your fears? Will you let Him give you rest from your weariness?

And will you let Him carry your burdens?

    He’s ready and waiting.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 9-17-24

Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

What are you going through today that has made you weary and heavy-laden?

Heavy laden means to be weighed down by a great burden or load, or to be oppressed or crushed.

It means to carry a very heavy load, possibly for some time. It causes people to feel worn down or drained. It can cause anxiety and hopelessness.

Rest is what weary people seek. Rest restores the vigor and strength necessary to carry on and enjoy life.

May you come to the Lord today and find your rest in Him. Do not sorrow any longer, for His joy is your strength!

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

    Amen!

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-17

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

No matter how discouraging things may look right now, no matter what our eyes see in front of us, no matter how we feel on the inside, we need to remember Who we belong to.

We need to hold on to His promise and we need to keep our faith in Him strong.

Don’t listen to the voices that whisper “what ifs” to our minds. Don’t listen to the emotions that say “I can’t do this”. Don’t let those things take you down and snuff you out. With God, all things are possible.

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Take a deep breath and look up. Say “Father, take this from me. I can not bear to carry it any longer. I hand it all over to You. I’m done trying to do it on my own. It’s simply just too much for me.

Let Your will be done oh Lord. In Jesus Name I ask. Amen”.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 1-29-14

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The world and everything in it can sure make us tired.

There is so much that pulls on us. Things can play tug-of-war with our minds. And people can really leave scars on our hearts.

Before we know it, we feel burdened and completely worn out.

I’m here to tell you today that Jesus came here for you. Jesus walked this earth, God with us, for each and every person reading this.

He left heaven for 33 years and took on human form, to show His love for us, and to set us free from sin, sickness, worry, disease, bondage, demonic oppression and so much more.

Come to Him. Lay your burdens at His feet. Leave them there. Let Him take them from you. Don’t ever pick them up again.

And let Him teach you how to rest. It’s a rest like nothing you have ever known before.

He’s extending His hand and offering this to you. Reach out and take it.
