Category: Authority in Christ

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-3-19

Luke 10:17 (NKJV) 17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

In Your name, Lord!

When we call on His name, every demon is subject to us. This is the power and authority we walk in through the saving grace and name of Jesus!

Don’t fear the demons that come against us to steal, kill and destroy, because Jesus has already won the battle. He is our Victor!

He has come that we may have life. Not death. Not bondage, and not destruction. Life more abundantly! Amen.

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Call on His name today. Don’t wait. Don’t think we have to work everything out first. No. We will never work it all out without Him. We need His power and authority that He has given to each one of us moving in our lives today. Things change when Jesus is around.

Philippians 2:10 (NKJV) 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.

Every knee shall bow at the name of Jesus.

Dear God in Heaven,

I am Your child through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I am speaking Jesus’ name today over my problems. I believe in that precious name and the power that it holds. Today, Lord,

May my sickness go, in the name of Jesus.

May my addictions go, in the name of Jesus.

May my jealousy go, in the name of Jesus.

May my unforgiveness and bitterness go, in the name of Jesus.

May my gossiping stop, in the name of Jesus.

I cry out in Your name, Lord, trusting and believing that You are here, helping me to overcome my personal problems.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-9-17

Luke 10:17 (NKJV) 17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

These people all spent time with Jesus. They walked and talked with Him. They watched Him perform miracles. They heard Him teach others, and He taught them personally.

Yet, they were surprised and amazed that even the demons were subject to them in His name.

In reality, here is what everything boils down to; everything is subject to the name of Jesus.

Demons have to flee when His name is spoken. The wind and the waves obey Him. And even those who follow Him have authority in His name.

As we go through each day, it’s important that we remember this; that if we are a follower of Christ, we are part of His body. We are part of something much bigger than we can even comprehend.

Being a Christian, a follower of Christ, means more than just “being religious”. It means more than just calling ourselves a Christian. It means more than attending church. And it means more than just putting a label on ourselves and setting ourselves apart from others.

As a follower of Christ, it’s critical that we understand who we are and Who we belong to.

And because of that, we shouldn’t live feeble, weak, defeated lives. We should live lives that reflect Who we belong to and Who dwells in each of us.

No, we might not always feel strong and victorious. And sometimes we might feel like we have dropped the ball. Or maybe we just feel a bit weak or tired.

But once we really begin to comprehend who we are as a believer, we should start to understand that our lives are meant to be lived victoriously. So when those things come that hit us or knock us down, we should be spending way less time down than we spend up!

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV) 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-16

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

As believers, followers of Christ, we have been given authority over evil powers… powers of darkness.

This includes demonic spirits; spirits of lust, spirits of infirmity, spirits of addiction, lying spirits, deaf spirits, dumb spirits, and any other kind of evil spirit. They are subject to us, by power of the name of Jesus Christ.

Jesus told us that we have the authority over them, to trample on them. If we are trampling on something, it means that it is under our feet! There is no lower place to be than under someone’s feet. So this should tell us just how much power we have over them.

Sadly, many of us live defeated lives, weighted down by things that should have no power over us at all. We struggle with addictions. We shrink back from the devil, believing that he has some kind of power over our lives. We lie, steal and cheat and so many other things.

Why? Because we give in to temptation easily. We forget that we are children of the King, the Most High God who rules over heaven and earth! And because of this, we live lives that are mediocre and weak.

It’s time for us to break out of this funk and take a stand against these things that are constantly pulling us down!

No, it won’t always be easy, and it can sometimes take a few tries to get it right, but we can do it!

Mark 16:17 (NKJV) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons

So we urge each person reading this to step out in authority and take a stand against the evil that would try to dominate our lives and tie our hands behind our backs.

Rise up, in the name of Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-16

2 Corinthians 5:21(NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

He knew no sin. He is perfect! Beautiful and untainted! Holy in every way! Jesus Christ, all power and all truth.

What Christ did for us is something we should never take lightly. We should hold on tightly to it with everything in us.

When satan the liar, thief, murderer and destroyer tries to come and take away our blessings, don’t give them to him. Stand up in the name of Jesus Christ and tell him NO, with all authority that God has given to us through His Son, Jesus Christ!

No satan, you can’t take my health!

No satan, you can’t touch my finances!

No satan, you will not divide my family!

No satan, you will not take my job!

No satan, you will NOT pit me against God, telling me that He is the one hurting me and causing all my problems!

Stomp him down and say NO to satan today!

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We give the enemy NOTHING!

Enjoy our blessings today and thank God, for He is Good! Amen.

1 Chronicles 29:13 (NKJV) 13 “Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-15

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

As followers of Christ, we have been given authority.

What does that mean? Who and what do we have authority over? What does that authority do for us?

We have authority over demonic powers. Jesus mentions snakes and scorpions, but this is simply symbolic for demons and evil spirits.

If we have the spirit of God living in us and we are washed in the blood of Jesus, we have the authority to rebuke demons and cast them out in the name of Jesus.

There is no power in hell that can stand up against the name of our Savior. They have to flee, no questions asked.

Having this authority means that we are equipped to live life with power and victory. It doesn’t mean that we will never have battles to fight. It doesn’t mean that we will never go through trials or hard times.

But it does mean that when we face demonic powers, we have the means and the weapons to defeat them. They cannot rule over our lives, unless we let them.

So as we face each day and evil spirits try to attack us, we have what it takes to rebuke them, cast them out and prevent them from ever coming back.

We just need to understand our authority and use it.
