Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-21

1 Kings 2:3 (NKJV) 3 And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn…

And keep the charge of the Lord your God.

What is that charge? To Walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, judgement and testimonies.

This is how we may prosper in all that we do and wherever we go.

Some people think they just need to pray and then it happens.

But, in reality, the verse above shows us how we establish a continual flow of God’s provision.

As we keep His charge, the Lord continues to prosper and grant success to those who walk in His ways.

If we live in constant lack and heavy stress then it may be time to change some things up.

Why would we stay in this situation if it is not pleasant and we have the opportunity to change it? Why would we not want to move and take the steps toward a better way that God has shown us?

We have to choose. It doesn’t choose us. And when we choose to walk in His ways, we choose RIGHTLY!!

And we will know it by the fruit that we see coming from our choices.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-29-19

3 John 1:2 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

We are praying this verse over each one of you today. That you may prosper in all things, be in good health, and that you grow closer to God and prosper in your soul.

The closer we get to Him, oh how peaceful things become. His wisdom leads us and we walk in His understanding. What a beautiful thing!

We need Him to guide us. Each and every day comes with its own baggage, its own problems. Of course, some days are better than others. But we cannot let it throw us off and get slack.

We need to stay sharp, alert, watching and listening all the time.

Having His wisdom to address some of these things we are challenged with is such a blessing in and of itself.

How light things become when He shows us the plan.

Walking in His understanding through the wisdom He gives us will help us to prosper on a daily basis.

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-15

Proverbs 6:6-9 (NKJV) 6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, 7 which,  having no captain, overseer or ruler, 8 provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. 9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?

Sluggard: A habitually lazy person

A type of laziness has crept into the church during the last 50 years or so, and especially during the last 25.

As the prosperity gospel has spread and become more popular, it has mis-led millions of believers, and convinced them that faith alone will make them prosperous. “Give us your money, let us lay hands on you and pray for God’s financial blessings over your life”, they tell us.

Sadly, the church has fallen for these falsehoods and has become convinced that God will heap financial blessings on us simply because we desire it.

God does want to bless us. He wants to prosper us in so many ways. But He knows that some of us aren’t ready or able to handle prosperity. It would destroy us if it came too soon.

He also tells us that we have to earn our way when it comes to finances.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 (NKJV) 10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

So, even as believers, we need to be diligent and responsible when it comes to our finances. We need to put forth effort and work hard, never just sitting back and waiting for God’s blessings to fall into our laps.

As we put God first, and we learn to handle our finances the way He wants us to, He will begin to bless us, a little at a time, as He sees that we’re ready to handle it.

Our prayer should never be “God, bless me abundantly”. Instead, we should be praying “God, bless me with what you think is best”.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-13

(Proverbs 3:9-10 NKJV)  Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; {10} So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Giving God our first fruits is one way of showing Him honor. It also will cause us to prosper!

Many think that they have to be prospering first before they start giving the first fruits to God. This is the wrong way of thinking and it will keep us always working so hard and never getting ahead, because this in not what prospers us.

There is no trust or faith in thinking we have to wait until we become prosperous and get things in order before we can give God the first fruits.

Today, surrender our ways on how to prosper and let God’s Word teach us and show us His way! He is a faithful God and He means what He says. He will show you, as you take a step of faith, how important it is to honor Him first!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-1-13

(Genesis 39:2 NKJV)  The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Success is something that we all pursue and desire, in one form or another. The funny thing is that each us has a slightly different definition of what success is.

One thing I can guarantee you is that not a single one of us would include being a slave in that definition.

But take a look at the verse above. Notice that Joseph was a successful man, all while being in the house of his master!

Joseph was sold into slavery. He was forced to be a servant… first for Potiphar and then directly under Pharaoh. Never in his days in Egypt did Joseph live independently of his Egyptian masters.

And yet the Bible says repeatedly that Joseph found favor with God and that everything he put his hand to prospered.

You see, God can still show us His favor, even if we’re not in what we feel like are the best circumstances. We just need to let Him! We need to shake off the world’s definitions of success and take on God’s definitions.

And most importantly, we need to learn to be content where God has us. Only when we learn to be content and thankful for where we are at and what we have will God see fit to prosper us.

This is not an easy thing to do, but it’s what God desires for us.
