Category: Being an Example for Others

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-22-22

John 17:1 (NKJV) 1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You

Jesus purposed to glorify His Father!

That was His mission the whole time He was on earth. And this should be the mission of all God’s children, His bride!

Jesus’ example should be the heart of the church.

It was in His sacrificial death on that cross that He was glorified!

What are we sacrificing for Him today?

Have we given up our old self and taken on the renewing of our minds, that our new heart and changing lifestyle will point to Him and give Him all the glory?

People will watch us. That is how they will know and discern; through our actions. They will listen to us and our language. They will see if our actions speak louder than our words.

Children of God, we need to be “example setters”. In all that we do, we need to make sure we are glorifying Him!

What is the Holy Spirit asking us to work on today? What do we need to sacrifice for Him?

The best example we can set that will show people we mean business is to work and make changes in our own hearts.

It is a sacrifice to let go of what we once knew and take on a whole new way of thinking, talking, and reacting. When our minds are changed in the way of righteousness, this is the acceptable and perfect will of God.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Jesus took on the cross, sacrificed everything for His Father, for you and for me. That was His example of pure love for us, and glorification of His Father. He offered up everything.

What will we do?

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-9-15

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

God changes our heart first, and then good habits will follow. When He says He will give us a new heart, He will do just that. His word is true and He is faithful.

What are our habits like today? Are there some bad ones mixed in there with the good ones? It’s OK. We can admit it. God already knows, and none of us is perfect.

But, if we acknowledge our habits, maybe we will be more apt to let God help us in turning the bad habits into good ones.

Once He changes our heart, a good way to tell that it has really changed is that we’ll notice our habits changing. Old, bad habits will begin to drop off and they will be replaced with good habits that are pleasing to God.

The key to keeping good habits is to not spend time in bad company.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV) 33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-27-14

(James 1:26 NKJV)  If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

Watching our words constantly is a big part of how people will determine if we are truly God’s or not. If we can’t control our words and our language with Christ living in us, then how are we any different than the non-Christian?

There should be a huge difference between the way a non-believer and a believer talks. We should be an example when we are around them. They should be learning something from us even if we aren’t saying anything at all; our actions should be speaking volumes.

Remember as we step out today, people are watching us. They are listening. We don’t need to be up on a platform to be heard or have a microphone in front of us. They watch all the time.

Hold our tongue today wherever we go and may we make a difference in someone’s life today.
