Category: Being Used By God

Bible Verse of the Day – 1-12-23

Acts 9:10 (NKJV) 10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”

Ananias was chosen by God to go and see Saul of Tarsus.

Saul had brought much harm and suffering to God’s people in Jerusalem, and the word had spread about him. So, Ananias was very much aware of Saul.

He was reluctant about what God had asked him to do, but he knew he must go.

Wow! This says a lot about Ananias.

Sometimes God will ask us to do things and we may feel the same way Ananias did. We may even ask God, “are You sure about this?”.

Can you imagine Ananias and what he was going through?

If it was me, I’d be like, “You want me to go where and do what? But he has a bad reputation? Are You sure?”.

Well, God reassured Ananias that it was OK for him to go, that Saul was a chosen vessel of His and all would be fine.

He will do the same for us if we have any concerns about some things that we are chosen to do.

Because God had reassured him, Ananias obeyed God and followed through.

Acts 9:15 (NKJV) 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.

How about us?

Will we say, “here I am Lord,” and then follow through when He impresses on our hearts to do something a bit uncomfortable?

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-28-20

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…

Sometimes we may be the only one God can use to get a particular job started, to get it moving forward or to break the ground open.

It’s not the easiest thing to do. As a matter of fact, sometimes it can be the worst job of them all. We may take heat because of it. It can be stressful, tiring and overwhelming at times.

But, with God’s instructions, strength, discernment and wisdom, He will always go before us and lead us into the what and the how to get it done.

All it takes is one sincere and loyal heart. One with compassion and the willingness to obey. One that doesn’t buck, but listens and follows, even when we may not understand it all.

It takes one person to start a ripple. And from there, who knows what will become of it? All we know is we’ve got to stand, obey and be willing to let God use us on this journey.

This earth is not our home, where we will live forever. We are just passing through. What will we be used for, in order to make a difference?

Maybe God is speaking to us today, and we have been feeling like we need to step it up. We’re not sure how, or the timing of it all.

We need to let God know we are willing, but we need the details, the how and the timing.

The first step is always to bring what we may be feeling to Him. Get clarity and direction.

The second step is to get understanding about the timing.

The third step is to take action when the door opens.

God is good. What He starts, He will finish, if we obey and follow His commands.

On this journey with Him, we will grow. We will change. We will learn to surrender, and we will learn to obey. We will bear fruit. Amen!

John 15:16 (NKJV) 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-18 – Can God Use Me?

Can God Use me?Greetings in the beautiful name of Jesus!

Can God Use Me?

That’s the question we discuss in our latest video.

Many of us have done things in our past that we wish we hadn’t done. And sometimes these things can make us feel like God could never want to use us to do anything for Him.

In today’s video, we discuss this and touch on several points that each and every one of us can relate to.

We hope this video will minister to you and speak to your heart. So please be sure to watch it all the way through, so God can speak to you right where you’re at today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-6-18

1 Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV) 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Many people tend to ignore the things of God because they don’t understand them. It’s not that they are completely ignorant of the things of God. They have heard about them, either directly or indirectly.

But they don’t quite understand them, so they move on to other things. They don’t want to expend time and energy for something they can’t wrap their heads around.

What they fail to see and understand is that the very thing they choose to ignore holds the keys to life, here on earth and for eternity. So, not only are they ignoring something that can help them live life abundantly here, but they are also throwing away their chance to live eternally with God.

Many people look at Christianity as something for people who are weak, feeble, friendless or foolish. But God has said that He will use the foolish things (and people) of the world to confound the wise.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV) 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

As such, you and I have been chosen to be used by God.

This doesn’t mean that Christians are stupid or foolish. It means that we have chosen to follow God, despite not necessarily being able to completely understand in an intellectual way everything that God does, or why He does it.

God is our source and our security. And I don’t know about you, but if that makes me seem foolish, then so be it. I will be a fool for Christ!

As stated by the Apostles, they were looked at as fools, even as they were willing to lay down their lives for what they believed.

1 Corinthians 4:10 (NKJV) 10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-18 – When We Make Mistakes

When We Make MistakesHello!

Today’s video is something we’re really excited about, and here’s why.

Not a single person reading this has lived a life free of mistakes. And that’s something that can really mess us up if we’re not careful.

But here’s the thing. God has a history of taking people who have made some really, really poor choices and using them for really, really good things!

Today’s video talks about this in a fun, powerful way that is sure to change the way you look at yourself.

Please click here to watch the video now.

In the video we share about people in the Bible who all made very bad mistakes in their lives, but God still went on to use them in very powerful ways.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We can’t let our poor choices define us. And we surely can’t let them stop us from being used by God.

So we hope you’ll take a few minutes and watch the video, and hear what God is saying to you about your past, and your future.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Be blessed mightily in Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-3-18

John 6:9 (NKJV) 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”

God uses people who are in the right place, with the right goods, at the right time, to fulfill His miracles.

Look at this boy and what he had to offer; five loaves of bread, and two fish. Was it enough to feed all 5,000 people? No, not alone.

However, Jesus took it and He gave thanks. He then gave it to the disciples to distribute among the people. And there was PLENTY! More than enough, with 12 baskets left over. Praise be to God!

John 6:13 (NKJV) 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

This young boy, with his 2 fish and 5 barley loaves, was in the right place at the right time.

Have we ever thought that where we are right now, or what we have in our possession may be exactly what God may use to do a miracle?

Maybe we have never thought that God will use us in doing such a thing. But He may. He may use what we have; our goods, our gifts, our compassion, our prayers, etc. We just don’t know, do we?

God is God. He does miracles. Would we be open and willing, like this boy, to give to God what He is asking in that moment?

We never know when we will be part of a miracle that God is performing for someone. Just be ready to say yes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-16

Luke 5:32 (NKJV) 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

We have a Savior. He came to earth and lived as a meek, humble human being.

He spent his 33 years here with one goal; to present God to man in a loving, merciful way that would draw men to Him.

And He did this by dying for us; for you and for me.

Jesus came as a physician seeking the sick. He didn’t come to seek out the well, the righteous. He came to bring hope and new life to those in need.

As children of God, we are His body. We are His hands and feet. He uses us to reach out to those who are in need and bring them the truth of His gospel.

It’s important that we, His body, follow in His footsteps and offer hope to those who are in need.

It’s important that we, His body, recognize those in need of The Physician and offer Him to them as a lifeline.

And it’s important that we, His body, never put our own personal preferences before His and leave those in need without the love and help they need.

It’s the sick who need Him. It’s the lost and fallen who need Him. It’s the thief, the liar and the drunkard who need Him.

Be His hands. Be His feet. Be who they need in their time of weakness and desperation.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-6-13

John 15:5 (NKJV) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Without Him, we can do nothing.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s Bible Verse of The Day, we’d like to use this scripture to complete what was said about us needing to be broken before God before He can use us.

Sometimes this is misunderstood by people or it doesn’t come across in the right way, so here’s a little more for you to take in.

Jesus said that we are to abide in Him and that if we do, we will bear much fruit. He went on to say that if we don’t abide in Him, we can do nothing (for the kingdom of God).

This isn’t any kind of deep spiritual metaphor or symbolism. It’s pretty straight forward with what it says and what it means. If we abide (remain) in Him, we can be used mightily by God. If we don’t, then we can’t be used to a great degree.

In yet another scripture, God’s word tells us that we can do all things through Christ. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

So as we abide in Him, he empowers us and strengthens us to do the works of the kingdom and bring glory to the Father.

So it’s important that we learn to humble ourselves before Him, confess our sins to Him and then ask Him to work in us to make us who He wants us to be, not who we want to be.

Enjoy your weekend and stay strong in Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-9-13

(1 Peter 2:11-12 NKJV)  Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, {12} having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

We are being watched!

No… We’re not being watched by spies or secret admirers. We are being watched by those around us who know we are believers… followers of Christ!

Once people know we’re Christians, they will watch our every move. They want to know if we’re legitimate and if God is real.

They make their judgments about God based on what they see in us. Scary, isn’t it? We are representatives of God here on earth.

So let’s give God the best representation we possibly can, so that when our time on this earth is finished and we stand before our creator, He will look at us and say “well done, good and faithful servant”!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-7-13

(Matthew 5:16 NKJV)  “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Helping others, spending time praying, teaching, loving, and just being there when we are needed; these are some ways of shining our light.

When we are doing these things, our motive should be that God will be glorified through it. This is very important.

Having this kind of motive in our heart will help us to stay on track and draw us even closer to God, causing our light to SHINE even brighter for Him!

Shine your light today!!
