Category: Negative Words

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-2-19

Psalm 139:14 (NKJV) 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.

Has someone called us names, talked down to us, looked at us as good for nothing? Have they told us that we will never get anywhere or amount to anything? Have they looked down at us or made fun of us because of our appearance, or our intelligence?

Those words and accusations are not for us to take on or carry. We don’t listen to that voice. Instead, we shut it out and shut it down.

That voice is not allowed to have a say over us. Those negative words will not affect us or determine who we are. They will not define us.

Our Father of truth, Jehovah Jireh, will tell us who we are, and He says it best. We are all fearfully and wonderfully made!

Marvelous are His works, and we are all part of His work. No longer will we let those lies have a voice in our ears. Instead, we hold tightly to the words of truth, and we walk in them.

We are beautiful in God’s eyes. Know it today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-4-12

(Prov 16:24 NKJV)  Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Wherever we go today and whatever we do, let our words be tempered. Think carefully about the words we choose to say before we speak.

Words are very powerful. If we are amongst those that are having a heated conversation, it’s OK to take time to think about what it is we need to say before we say anything. We always want to help the situation and not hurt it.

We can’t  be so  eager to say whatever comes to mind at the moment; we need to think it through. Saying the right words at the right time can turn a situation around quickly.

God will help us with this as we pull back and surrender our words to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-28-12

(Eph 4:29 NKJV)  Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Gossip. Sarcasm. Cynicism. Negativity. Doubt. And other things similar.

Are we falling into letting these types of things come out of our mouths on a regular basis?

God has taught us that the words out of our mouths need to be edifying and encouraging. We are to speak truth, but not in ways that carry any of the attributes above.

Jesus addressed some pretty heavy things in people’s lives, but He never did it in a way that tore the person down. Yes, He would confront sin and expose it, but He did it with love, mercy and compassion, allowing that person to see themselves. He didn’t leave the person feeling like they had just been punished by the school principal or headmaster.

It’s pretty easy to become negative, especially if our personality tends to be negative to begin with. But God wants us to let Him change what’s on the inside of us and teach us to speak words of faith and encouragement.

If we will let Him do this in us we will see some incredible changes in our life and the lives of those around us.
