Bible Verse of The Day – 1-15-22

Jeremiah 32:17 (NKJV) 17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

Sometimes we may forget Who we belong to.

We may think at times that we are on our own, and that we need to fend for ourselves. But we need to be reminded that we are not on our own.

In fact, we aren’t even our own.

When we become children of the Most High God, we belong to Him! He is going to take care of our every need if we rest in Him; if we trust Him and give Him the lead.

It’s not always easy to grasp that Someone so mighty is on our side, that Someone so powerful will deliver us.

But we must know this with everything in us, and give Him the right to go ahead and take care of what needs to be done.

Nothing is too hard for Him. Nothing!

If we need Him, cry out and let Him go to battle for us.

Psalm 40:17 (NKJV) 17 But I am poor and needy; Yet the Lord thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; Do not delay, O my God.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-19

Matthew 1:24-25 (NKJV) 24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into this world through a virgin.

The miraculous work that was done by our God, as part of His plan to save the world, is beyond our understanding. We don’t just instinctively know this stuff. Mankind has never seen such a thing done. It is mind boggling.

But this is our Father in Heaven, and He can do all things.

His words spoke everything that we look at and listen to each day into existence. The sea, the trees, the sky, the wind, the rain, the air and all the sounds of wildlife. He is amazing! Beautiful and Awesome is He.

Think about this; His Son, Jesus, God in the flesh, came to us through a virgin. That’s right. God in natural skin, like you and I. He walked here on this earth, feeling what we feel, being tempted just like us. He went through it all. He knows about temptation and what we deal with every day.

Matthew 1:23  (NKJV) 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

The difference is that He was perfect, even in human form, and He overcame it.  We need Him to help us overcome ours.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Today, if you are struggling, if you are hurting, if you are depressed, if you are addicted, if you are lost, Emmanuel is here. Jesus Christ is God, with us.

Receive Him. He is the answer to life. Walk with Him, through prayer and learning His word each day. He will bless us with abundant life!

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-18

Psalm 47:8 (NKJV) 8 God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.

This is it, as they say, in a nutshell! God is in control over all. I don’t think we can comprehend the power that God has and what He can do with it.

For instance, look at the story of Noah. God wanted Noah to build an ark to carry him, his family and the animals. There was going to be a great flood and everything else would be destroyed. Why? Because of sin and the way people were living at that time. God was saddened by their actions to the point that He regretted that He had even created man.

How awful is that?

I would say God was very much in control. And even though He said He would never flood the earth again in that way, we can see His power and might behind it all.

When Moses raised his staff over the Red Sea, we can see the mighty power of God again, as He split the sea so that the Israelites could simply pass through it by foot to get to the other side.

Jesus was born through a virgin named Mary. She had never been intimate with a man, yet she carried a baby in her womb; our Messiah, the Son of this same mighty God. Again, we can see the majesty of our Heavenly Father!

He is Mighty, He is God and He REIGNS! Amen.

If we are worrying today about anything in particular, small or big, we need to remember Whose child we are, get rid of the worry, and start praising and thanking Him. He has our answers and the way of our deliverance!

Psalm 116:1 (NKJV) 1 I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-16

Job 37:5-6 (NKJV) 5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. 6 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.

God speaks to us and shows us His marvelous work. It’s all around us! We don’t have to look far for it. It’s right in front of us.

Look at how we were created and born. It is simply amazing! Look at how everything in our body works together, perfectly and in sync with each part. It performs with excellence. And if it doesn’t, we know about it.

God’s creation of human beings is more than we can comprehend. But it doesn’t stop there.

Look outside; there is life all around us. The leaves on the trees changing color from season to season, the flowers blossoming and the beautiful aroma that they give for us to enjoy.

The grass we walk on is soft enough to walk barefoot. It just keeps on growing.

LIFE. There is so much life in bodies of water around us.

The sky above us, with a different picture every day. Some clouds, some sun, some rain, and rainbows. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

He is MARVELOUS, and for us to try to fully comprehend what He is doing at times is just plain silly.

Let Him do a mighty work in us and in our situation today. REST in Him and thank Him that His love is for us. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-17-15

Job 38:4 (NKJV) 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

Some people like to question God and His reasons for doing the things He does. Some like to question Him about the things he doesn’t do.

We’ve all heard the questions, often times spoken with sarcasm; if God is so loving, why are there starving people in the world? If God loves you so much, why does He allow you to go through such hard trials? And the list of these types of questions could go on and on.

Sometimes these questions even come from the mouths of believers… people who claim to be followers of Christ.

Most times it is pointless to debate or try to reason with people who ask these questions. Occasionally the door will genuinely open and a meaningful conversation can be held. But the majority of the time, trying to talk to them in a way that will change their minds is fruitless.

At those times, when there is no reasoning with that person, the verse above is about all you can use.

Where were they when God laid the foundations of the earth? Where were they when he commanded the waters to pull back and create dry land? Where were they when He said “let there be light”, and there was light?

To these questions they will have no answer. Sometimes they need to know that what they think isn’t important, when compared to the big picture.

Sometimes they just need to know that God is bigger and mightier than they are and that His ways don’t always make sense to our logical minds.

There are things that happen that we will never be able to explain away and things that happen that we will never understand or comprehend.

But that’s OK, because God is still God, whether we agree, understand, comprehend or not.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-6-13

(Genesis 1:1 NKJV)  In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Have you ever looked around and taken in all of the wonder and beauty of the world that we live in?

I do this often… pretty much every day. I just look in awe at the world around me… the skies, the trees, the ocean, rivers and lakes.

And I look at the creatures… so many beautiful creatures that God created. There are birds with so many different colors, and the sounds that they each make. The different species of fish and the other creatures of the seas are all so diverse and wonderfully made.

I look at the variety of trees and plants and I just shake my head in awe at their awesomeness.

And then there is God’s favored creation; us… human beings. People. He created us to rule over this earth and to have dominion over it. And he created us so wonderfully and so intricate.

The human body is a true work of art, regardless of what race we are or what ethnicity we are, we share the same circulatory functions, same digestive systems, same nervous systems, and so much more.

No matter how sophisticated and intelligent we think we are as human beings, we can never even come close to what God has done in His creation of us and everything around us.

So whether you’re just starting your day as you read this, or if you have been up all day and you’re reading this right before you go to sleep, take a moment and give God thanks for His awesome creation.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-13

(Exodus 3:13-14 NKJV)  Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” {14} And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'”

I am who I am. What an awesome statement God made to Moses!

Moses asked God a question, hoping for an answer that would satisfy his own curiosities, as well as the questions he was sure to get from the Israelites. He said to God, “Who shall I say has sent me?”

Of course Moses was hoping for a clear-cut answer. But I love what God said to Him; “I am who I am”. Now that threw Moses off a bit. So he asked God again, “who shall I say has sent me?”

“I AM”. See, God doesn’t need to explain Himself to anyone. He doesn’t need to explain where He came from, why He does what He does, or How He became who He is. He Just Is.

God Just Is.

When I think about who God is, I think about that aspect of Him a lot. He Just Is. He doesn’t need to be explained. He Just Is. He doesn’t have to answer to anyone or bow to demands or commands. He Just Is.

If we can accept this fact and then trust Him for who He is, how much easier would our lives be? How much less would we stress and worry? How much more faith would we have in Him? How much stronger would we be as His children?

Think about that today and know that God Is Who He Is. And that’s enough.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-29-12

(1 Corinthians 15:51-52 NKJV)  Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed; {52} in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

These verses and others similar to it are awe-inspiring!

When I think about what God has planned for the future, it is truly astounding and beyond what the mind of man can comprehend. Despite all of the technology and wisdom that we have at our fingertips today, we still can’t figure out or fathom the mysteries of God.

God’s wonders extend far beyond what He will do in the last days. But think for a moment about the reality of what Paul was writing about above and just try to wrap your mind around it.

Pretty much impossible, isn’t it? That’s our God. That’s the complexity of who He is and how incredibly powerful He is. There is no comprehending His power and might.

Now, as you finish reading this, don’t just push this aside and forget about it. Try to remind yourself of this throughout the day and let it penetrate your spirit.

This is the God we serve. Now how awesome is that!!
