Isaiah 43:2 (LSB) 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
Life can bring some terrifying trials and difficult seasons.
We can face situations that take our breath away and cause us to shrink back in fear.
No one is immune or exempt. We all face these kinds of things from time to time.
The question is, what will we do with them?
How will we react? And how will we traverse these fear-inducing seasons?
First, we must not allow the fear we feel to cause us to lose heart or abandon our faith.
On the contrary, it is our faith in God that brings us through these events.
The verse above tells us that as we pass through the waters, He will be with us.
As we pass through the rivers, they will not overflow us (overtake us or sweep us away).
And when we walk through the fire, we will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn (consume) us.
Yes, we will feel pain at times.
Yes, we will have scars when the battle is over.
And yes, the things we face can sometimes alter our life’s path or the way we see things.
But God has promised us that He will walk through every step of these situations to the other side!
Someone reading this today is in a desperate situation, maybe even fighting for their life.
Know this: you are not alone.
Psalm 46:1 (LSB) 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Do not fear.
Isaiah 41:10 (LSB) 10 Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will make you mighty, surely I will help you; Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
