What the Bible says about doing the right thing

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-29-17

Galatians 6:7 (NKJV)7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

It can be hard to do the right thing at times, even though that’s what we prefer to do.

There can be repercussions from doing right. We can surely “stir the pot”, so to speak, when we take a stand and choose to do what is right versus just giving in and letting things be the way others want them to be.

Making the right decision and sticking by it can rile things up or turn things upside down. It can be very interesting and eye-opening. We may see things in people that we may have never seen otherwise.

Whenever we do what is right, good comes out of it. How do we know this? Because if we sow good and right seeds we will reap good and right things.

When we take a stand to do what is right, we may find ourselves standing alone at times. It may feel a bit uncomfortable and cause us to want to just give in and change our minds.

But know this; we are never truly alone. We may not have the same people or friends around us, but God is right there and He will fill that empty feeling with good things.

Don’t let the wrong agendas manipulate us because we are afraid of losing something or someone. Do the right thing and good things will come from it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-18-17

Proverbs 14:12 (NKJV) 12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Sometimes people do things that just make us shake our heads. Some of these things are subtle, while others are blatantly illegal or, at the very least, very questionable.

On a smaller scale, the day to day choices we make can have lasting results and consequences. Sometimes we know up front that something is wrong, and we do it anyway. Other times we just make a bad choice.

Either way, the choices we make will follow us around and it can take a long time for them to get resolved or fade away into our past.

God has made a way for us to avoid making poor choices and reaping from those choices.

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

You see, if we truly want to do right, to please God, we will think before we do anything. And we will let God speak to us and show us the right choice. And then we will listen and heed His promptings.

It may not always be easy. And sometimes we may wrestle with it. But as we learn to lean on Him, trust the Holy Spirit, and then follow His leading, it will get easier and easier.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but when we let God lead us, we will learn right from wrong. And we will choose right.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-30-16

1 Peter 3: 13-14 (NKJV) 13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”

As we draw closer to Christ and we take His Word seriously we will begin to change. Our hearts will desire to do good and will work hard to discern and choose the right thing to do in every situation.

It doesn’t mean that we will be perfect, because everything we do is in part; Part flesh and part spirit. So there will be times when we may be having a hard day and we will act from the flesh. Those are the moments we usually know pretty quickly that what we just did we wish we could undo or take back.

Even though we can’t take it back, because it was already done and played out, we can own up to what we did and ask God to forgive us for it.

There may still be repercussions because of it, but at least we got it straightened out with God. And if we ask Him, He will help us with the rest as well.

Doing the right thing is important. Even if we fail at times, we can still turn things around by taking the right actions and trying to get it right.

Good is the way to go no matter what kind of day we are having or what situation we are in.

We are still blessed!
