1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
As believers, we can sometimes look at non-believers and wonder why they just don’t seem to understand the things of God.
Why don’t they see that God loves them and wants the best for their lives? Why don’t they want to repent and give themselves over to Him, instead of giving themselves over to sin?
The things of God can’t be understood by carnal minds because spiritual discernment is required to know and understand such things
When we become believers, God quickens our spirit; makes it alive. It is only then, as we begin to see things through spiritual eyes, that we start to understand things that were previously beyond our understanding.
The Bible says that without God our hearts are darkened (Ephesians 4:17-18). Only after embracing God and putting our faith in Him can our hearts be released from darkness and given the ability to see the things that were previously only foolishness to us.
And, the closer we get to God, the easier it will be for us to understand the difference between light and darkness, and to see things from a spiritual point of view, instead of just the natural point of view.
