Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
God’s word is our measuring stick when we want to know if something is right or wrong. If we encounter something and we want to know if it is true or right, we can look in His word and find out.
The verses above are our measuring stick for our own lives, to tell us if we are following the leading of the Spirit of God.
Many people make this seem very complicated. But in reality, if we use these verses as our measuring stick, we will be able to discern very quickly where we stand in our daily lives.
Are we faithful, patient and self-controlled? Do we exhibit love, joy and peace in every situation? Are we gentle and kind?
These are all traits of a believer who is walking by the Spirit, not by the flesh.
If we look honestly at ourselves, where do we stand?
