(Eph 2:8-9 NKJV)  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, {9} not of works, lest anyone should boast.

We are saved by grace, through faith.

I want to touch base on this scripture once more to make sure there is no confusion when it comes to the balance between faith and works.

Let me start by stating very strongly that we are never, ever saved by our works! We are saved solely by trusting God for our salvation.

Giving to the needy won’t save us. Helping someone out won’t save us. Being nice to someone won’t save us. These are, however, all things that we should be doing. These are works… an outward expression of our faith, not a way of earning our salvation.

God makes us aware of our sinful state and then He gives us the faith to believe that He can save us. We take the action of accepting that offer of salvation.

This is NOT works! This is simply accepting a gift being offered to us.

Putting our faith and trust in God is an action… something that we consciously choose to do. This action is required for us to accept God’s offer of salvation, but it is not works in the sense that we do something to earn God’s favor or salvation.

Salvation can never be earned. Jesus paid for it when He died on the cross, in our place. That gift is being offered to us today, free of charge.

If you have never accepted this gift personally, please do so today. Your sins can be forgiven and your eternal destiny can be secure.

We are saved by grace, through faith.

It takes faith to be saved. We have to recognize our sinful condition and the need for salvation. We do this by faith. And it is that same faith that causes us to take action and accept the forgiveness and salvation that God is offering.

We do not work to earn our salvation, but once we recognize the need for salvation we need to take action to claim it!

Claim what he has for you today and let your soul prosper and your spirit be strong!

(James 2:21-22 NKJV) Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? {22} Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

I get stuck a lot of times, not so much with having the Faith, but the working of it.

What happens with me is that I have no problem believing that God can do it, but my problem starts to happen when I have to do my part. It’s not that I don’t want to do my part, but more the fact that I don’t always know what to do or how to do it or even when to do it.

I have that type of personality where I like to have things planned out and if it doesn’t go the way I planned it out then I get thrown off. But, I am learning to just flow with it.

Let’s not get so stuck in our plans that we forget to seek God for His…Abraham knew God’s plan. I’m sure he was not comfortable with it. But he worked it… he took the step of obedience, and in return faith and works was made perfect!!

Having faith is AWESOME,  but let God show us how to work it out by taking the necessary steps that go with it!!

(Eph 1:7-8 NKJV)  In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace {8} which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

Have you sinned in a way that you feel like God can’t forgive you?

We need to understand what God says in the verses above. He says “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins”.

It doesn’t say we have the forgiveness of some sins, or the forgiveness of little sins. It states very clearly that we have forgiveness of sins… period.

God doesn’t distinguish between big or little sins when it comes to committing them and He doesn’t distinguish between them when it comes to forgiving them.

Sin is sin and His forgiveness takes away all sin, no matter how bad we think it might be.

If you’re holding onto a sin or some sins that you might have committed in your past, and you struggle with asking God to forgive you, I want you to let them go right now, in the name of Jesus, and ask Him to forgive you. And then move on, knowing that you’ve been forgiven.

God’s mercy and forgiveness are for every one of us, including you. Receive them and be free.

(Psa 146:1 NKJV) Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

Every day is a good day to start off with Praise! Even though some days we may not be in a mood to praise, we need to push through it and do it anyways. I guarantee you that if we start, whether we are in the mood or not, we will find ourselves enjoying it and we’ll learn that it is an important part of our day.

Sometimes it’s hard to start praising if we are hurting, suffering, mad or angry but we just have to push through it and start anyways. Don’t let the emotions and feelings of our flesh stop us…but let the Holy Spirit take over and have control!

Praise Him for Salvation! Praise Him for Creation! Praise Him for our health and praise Him for our wealth! Praise Him for our healing and for others that have been healed! Praise Him for His compassion and for His love for us…for His forgiveness and His goodness!!
So many things we can praise Him for today! Let’s not stop!

(Rev 12:11 NKJV)  “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

They overcame him by the blood of The Lamb. Who did they overcome?

They overcame the accuser; the enemy of our souls. They overcame him by the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God

The accuser wants us to live defeated lives. The accuser wants us to fall into sin, and never come out of it. The accuser wants us to believe his lies.

But we have the blood of Jesus by which we can overcome all of the enemy’s lies and schemes.

If you have come to believe in and accept Jesus Christ as your savior, you have been washed in the blood of The Lamb. The accuser has no place in your life. He has no power over you, except that which you give him.

Stand strong, resist the enemy and he will flee from you.

Claim the freedom that Jesus died to give us all.

(Mat 27:35 NKJV)  Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: “They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.”

I sometimes wonder what it was like for Jesus, as He was crucified… nailed to a cross to die.

The reality of this hits me pretty hard sometimes, even to the point of making me sick inside when I think about it.

He did this for me. He did it for you. He willingly had massive nails driven into His wrists and His feet.

I don’t know about you, but I am so extremely grateful that He was willing to take my place and die to remove my sins.

Take a minute today to reflect on the reality of this and how it has changed your life. And if it hasn’t changed your life yet, make today the day that it does.

(Mat 2:13 NKJV)  Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

I try to imagine what Joseph and Mary must have felt like when the angel of the Lord appeared to them. Now, that in itself is huge! Then, the angel goes on to tell them that Herod wants to kill their Son! That would totally freak me out! This is not hearsay from just anyone… this is from an angel of the Lord!

I am very protective of my children and grandchildren. If anyone tries to hurt them in any way, I’m like a pit-bull ready to attack. I have to really bite my tongue at times. But could you imagine if an angel of the Lord came to you and told you that someone is out to kill your child, or your mother, or spouse etc.?

I love the fact that God protected them and warned them when danger was approaching and led them through their journey and that they, in return, obeyed Him and followed His leading.

We need to understand that God wants to protect us all, and keep us safe. We too need to follow His leading. There is this awful enemy that would love to hurt us all. But we have someone that will PROTECT us.

Receive God’s protection that He provides for us today and be safe in Him.

(Prov 26:21 NKJV)  As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindle strife.

It’s so easy to get drawn into a disagreement or heated discussion with someone when they start running their mouth or directing words of contention toward us.

It doesn’t matter whether the other person is a believer or unbeliever, the words they say to us can hurt and cause us to want to argue back and get caught up in the heat of the moment.

As we grow and mature as believers we need to recognize these situations and learn how to handle them, or avoid them completely. Arguing with people never gets us anywhere and never produces fruit, especially for the kingdom of God.

God wants us to have discernment and know when to speak and when to walk away. Our lives will be much easier because of it and His light will shine more brightly through us.

So today, be on your toes and let God show you when to speak and when not to. It’ll make your day so much better!

(Rom 8:25 NKJV)  But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Perseverance. It’s not something that we hear much about these days. Everyone wants everything in a split second. We’re a world of people who want instant gratification.

God says differently. His word says that we are to eagerly wait, with perseverance.

I’m in awe that He says we should “eagerly wait”. Most times we tend to wait impatiently, wishing that our answer would come quickly. But God wants us to wait, eagerly expecting His answer.

It’s the perseverance that He wants us to learn that allows us to wait for something eagerly. Without the perseverance we just wait impatiently.

God has taught me much about perseverance over the years, but I still have a long way to go before I even begin to achieve His desire of us “waiting eagerly” in the truest meaning of it.

I ask for God’s strength for each and everyone of us, to learn how to persevere and wait eagerly for His answers.

(Heb 10:23 NKJV)  Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

My most favorite thing to say in this world is… God is Faithful!! There is such a thing as Faith and the One who gave us life and breathed it into us is the One who will bring us through any situation good or bad, by faith.

Stand strong in Him today and put all your trust in Him for He truly will see us through!
