Bible Verse of The Day – 9-18-14

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Life is a funny thing. No matter how hard we try, we will never figure it out completely.

We can be cruising through it, thinking everything is perfect and then, suddenly out of nowhere, we get blindsided and everything is turned upside down. And we have no idea why.

Or maybe nothing tragic or catastrophic has happened, but we’re just trying to find our way through and figure some things out. You know, just the normal everyday stuff.

Well, either way, whether we’re in the midst of a crisis or just working our way through everyday life, we need to know that we don’t always have to understand everything or have it all figured out.

God moves on our behalf in ways that we would never think of. He isn’t stuck in a box, even though we try to stuff Him in there most of the time.

When God moves, He does what He sees fit to do, not what we think He should do. And even if we might have a situation that’s similar to something we went through in the past, God won’t necessarily do the same thing to help us this time that He did last time.

So if things aren’t making sense to you, or if you need a solution to a problem you’re currently having, trust God to work it out for you. Untie His hands and let Him move on your behalf.

It can be hard to take our hands off of things when we’re in the middle of a situation or crisis. Our minds just naturally want to try to figure everything out. But let’s learn to trust God and not lean on our own understanding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-6-14

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

On our own, we might be able to accomplish some things. We might be able to use our brain power to reach some goals. This isn’t an insult to Christ. It’s a testament to the human brain, which God created and blessed us with.

But on our own we are limited. We are limited to the finite capabilities of that same human mind. We are limited to our own understanding of things. And when we compare that to the wisdom and understanding of God, we are very limited!

But with Christ, the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit and the anointing of God, we can do anything that God directs us to do.

Notice I didn’t say anything that we set our minds to? That’s because our minds are limited, but God isn’t. With God leading us, through Christ, we can do anything.

We can accomplish things in our lives that we would never imagine possible. We can even accomplish things that we never even thought we would be doing!

Once God plants a seed in us to perform a specific task or do a certain job for Him, as long as we follow His plan, we can accomplish it and fulfill His desires for our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-29-14

(Psalm 16:8-9 NKJV)  I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. {9} Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.

It’s a good idea to set the Lord before us and follow Him. Setting the Lord before us shows Him that we trust in Him and His way for us each day.

I remember I was in a church service one night, and while as I was sitting there I had a vision. In that vision, the minister that was speaking at this church was way out in front of the Lord. I thought to myself “what is that about?”.

After listening to the minster speak a bit, I soon realized what God was showing me. This minister was just as God showed me. They were doing their own thing. They were running with their own agenda, but claiming to be moving in the name of the Lord.

This minister may not have even been aware of this, and this happens a lot because it can be easy to get caught up in doing things for God instead of WITH God.

Let me explain; we do not want to be doing God’s work without Him leading the way for us. We should never be out in front of Him.

We should set the Lord before us always.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-24-14

Proverbs 3:5-6 (New King James Version) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Our own understanding can sometimes be the biggest source of frustration!

Our heads think one way, but the spirit of God can, many times, lead us in directions that our head can’t make sense of.

But take a close look at the verse above. It tells us that if we trust in God with all our heart and we don’t lean on our own understanding, and we acknowledge God in everything, He will direct our paths!

When we pull back from always trying to make sense of everything and trying to figure it all out, and we really trust God, that’s very often when we will see things start to happen for us. And then things will start to make sense to us!

This can be hard to get used to, but once we get it, it can make our lives so much easier.

So trust Him with all your heart, don’t try to figure it all out, acknowledge Him in everything and let Him direct your path.

God will take care of the rest!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-8-14

(Matthew 8:10 NKJV)  When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!

What does GREAT faith do? It causes the Lord to Marvel! If we want to make the Lord marvel, have great FAITH!

It’s an easy thing to say and, yes, at times it’s even easy to do. But, there are times when having faith can be difficult. For instance, when we are in the middle of a battle, and we can not see the way out, our faith may get little; so little that we may think we have lost it.

That’s when we surround ourselves with people that have BIG faith!

God has a way of bringing the right people around us at the right time! Don’t take your family, friends and leaders that God connects you with, for granted. They are there to help us and we may need to return the favor, as God leads.

If we are not happy with the people that God has brought around us to help us, then we simply need to get over it. Mature Christians will understand that it’s not always the person we thought it might be, but thank God He knows better than us!

Have faith in Him, that He knows who we need at the right time. We may need that person to speak up and tell us what we might not want to hear. That doesn’t mean they are being mean.

It means, first, that they love God enough to obey Him. Secondly, they love us enough to speak the truth, rather than stand in front of us and make like everything is OK, when it’s really not.

Have great faith in God today, let Him help us in every situation, and with whom He wants to use help us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-10-13

Ephesians 4:26-27 (NKJV) 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil.

Nor give place to the devil.

Oh, if only we could learn to do this! When we give place to the devil, we give him a foothold in our life and we step off the path that God has set before us.

Sometimes we get off the path a tiny bit and sometimes we get way off the path. Either way, when we get off the path we miss what God has for us.

God has given us His spirit. He is our weapon and our protection against giving place to the devil.

If we can stay in tune with God’s spirit and heed what He tells us, we will not give the devil any place and we will see victory come faster and more frequently in our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-5-13

(1 Corinthians 2:12 NKJV)  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

There have been times that God has promised me things and He has brought them in, but I often hear these words right before the breakthrough comes…”Stay close to me.”

Why would God say to stay close to Him, when His word says that when we receive Him as our personal Lord and Savior that His Spirit lives in us? This was a question I would ponder often.

What I have learned over the years is that even though God, through the blood of Jesus, lives in us upon receiving salvation, we still play an important part in working with Him to keep ourselves close.

You see, God’s Spirit is in us, but He doesn’t always have the freedom to lead, guide or give advice. It is up to us to let Him do this.

God gives us a free will and we have to be the ones to remain close to Him. Staying close simply means always listening and watching, staying alert to Him, giving Him the freedom to help at all times, guide at all times and walk us through everyday stuff at all times… not just when we get in trouble or have a bad report. He wants us to be aware of Him at ALL times.

Stay close to God and let Him birth His will in us, bringing it to pass as we walk hand in hand with Him. Oh how glorious it is taking steps with the Omnipresent, Omnipotent Jehovah, the Alpha & Omega!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-13

Psalm 119:133 (NKJV) Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Direct my steps.

This should be the prayer of every believer. These are the words that we should be speaking to God each and every day.

When God is leading us, we will be taking the steps that He wants, not what we want.

As we learn to walk closely to Him, our fleshly wants and desires begin to melt away and His spirit begins to have dominion over us. When this happens, His desires become our desires too.

Following God’s steps for our lives doesn’t mean that everything will be trouble-free. But it does mean that when trouble comes, we will have peace in the midst of the storm and we will know that no matter how hard the wind and the waves beat against us, we will be safe with Him and we will have victory in His timing.

Are things not going well for us right now? Let’s check our steps and make sure they’re being ordered by God, and not just by our own will and desires.

Bible verse of The Day – 4-11-13

(Matthew 10:8 NKJV)  “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Is God’s Spirit allowed in our churches today?

This is the question we all must ask ourselves. It’s up to us to know if we are in a church that allows God to move. Or do we let man dictate to us how a church service should be run each week?

It’s not that we shouldn’t have order in the church, because we need order. But we should be able to change things up as needed. Now, if that is a problem then we need to be careful about what is trying to set in… tradition, man-made ideas and agendas.

If you are in a church and you are doing the same things over and over again every Sunday without fail, we need to seek God and ask Him if He is there. Does His Spirit have the freedom to move in that place?

God wants to be in church too! He wants to help people get healed, but some churches don’t believe in healing. God wants to save people, some churches don’t believe in salvation. God wants to deliver people from demonic oppression, some churches don’t believe in deliverance, etc.

Why would we go and support such a place if it does not allow God to move?

Just a thought.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-15-12

(Mat 11:30 NKJV)  “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

The world and the cares of it will weigh us down and drag us to the lowest of lows, if we let them.

It doesn’t take much for most of us to get caught up in the things around us and to let them steal or joy. Once our joy has been stolen, we become powerless for the kingdom of God.

Jesus came to take away those heavy burdens. He wants us to let go of the heavy burdens that we carry unnecessarily and exchange them for His peace and His joy.

Knowing Jesus won’t make all of our problems magically disappear overnight, but having His joy and peace, and learning to trust God for the answers to our problems will surely change our outlook on life.

Take on the yoke of Jesus and let Him lead you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-12

(Exo 4:15 NKJV)  “Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do.

When God spoke to Moses and told him what He needed him to do, Moses hesitated and told God He had the wrong man for the job.

Despite His anger against Moses, God made a way for Moses to carry through and get the job done, using his brother Aaron.

Most importantly, though, God taught Moses what he needed to do.

As we let God lead us, if we’re open and we listen to Him, He will teach us what to do and how to do it. We don’t need to fear. We just need to trust!

So listen for God’s voice, heed what He tells you and then trust Him to tell you how to do it.

With God in control, we can’t go wrong.
