Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-21

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

Today we are going to talk about focusing.

This is the season to keep focused. There will be things pulling on us at times and they will try to pull us off track and get us distracted, doing other things that are not necessarily what we need to be doing right now.

Distractions come in many ways and at different times.

The enemy loves to use this to slow us down. But we are not going to let him do this.

It’s time we say, “no more distractions!”, and focus on what God wants us to be doing.

Put that right foot in front of the other and move forward. Every time we stay focused, we get ahead and we advance God’s Kingdom.

This is going to take listening, discerning and walking away from things that we may enjoy doing at times, just to keep on target and stay focused.

Get ready to say no, to silence the phone, to get weird looks and attitudes from others. Because when we stand strong and we’re focused, there will be some darts thrown our way.

Focus.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-29-20

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

It takes strength and discipline to say no to things that try to pull on our hearts at times, like answering our cell phones or texting in the middle of prayer time, church or while reading our Bible!

How many know what I’m talking about? You know, when we let them interrupt us and say, “Oh, God will understand”.

Don’t let the cell phone interfere with our God time.

If we let our phone get in the way of these things, we will begin to feel a distance between us and God. The distance caused by interference will grow until there is nothing left.

Our time with God will be lost and our passion slowly starts to diminish. Why? Because He is taking a back seat.

Last summer I was noticing that I was beginning to struggle with distractions. I had a hard time focusing.

I thought, “what is this?”. I asked God to help me stay close to Him. I felt like something was trying to put distance between us.

He showed me that my phone was becoming a distraction. My phone went everywhere with me, and because of that I had this constant distraction and lack of focus.

You see, loving God is not just a feeling we have; it is keeping Him in a “first-place position” in everything we do. In other words, nothing comes between us, and if it does, we do something about it. He is our all!

Cell Phones aren’t bad in and of themselves. They can be very helpful if used properly. But if we don’t keep them in their place, they can be a huge distraction, preventing us from focusing on the things we need to be doing.

Put the cell phone in its rightful place. Show God how much we love Him by keeping Him first, and giving Him our utmost attention. The other things can wait, not Him. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-13-19 – Disconnected

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Have you ever stopped to consider the importance of the time that Jesus spent in the wilderness, away from others?

In our new video, Disconnected, we talk about the importance of pulling away from all of the things that pull on us and vie for our time. It’s not always easy to do, but it’s essential in so many ways.

We hope the video will speak to you.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Remember to disconnect. Our walk with God depends on it.

Enjoy your day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-30-19

Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV) 3 Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.

Being committed and staying focused isn’t always easy, especially if our plate is full and we have others that tend to pull on us.

What do we do to keep a peaceful mind and stay committed? There are 3 things.

The first thing to do is ask God to help us to stay focused so that we can get the things done that need to get done in that day.

Second, rebuke the enemy, in the name of Jesus, forbidding his schemes to set us back from operating against us.

The third thing we can do is to make sure that when things come up and people start to pull on us or ask us to do various things for them, that we are prayerfully discerning as to whether it is what God wants for us to get involved with at that time.

Staying committed and focused on the things that God wants us to get done in a day will bring us peace. But there will be some days it will be quite a fight trying to keep it all going smoothly.

Don’t give up, even if we get started on the wrong foot. Keep working at it.

If we stay focused, we will get the things done that need to be done. And there may even be some time for ourselves to do other things that we may enjoy, without feeling guilty about it.

We can honestly say that being committed and focused is very rewarding!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-18

John 15:7 (NKJV) 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

To abide means to continue in one place. In this scripture, Jesus says to abide where? In Him.

We must continue each day in Him. His word must be in us. That means that we stick to Him like glue and we don’t move away from Him. No matter what comes against us, no matter what we are facing or going through, none of it should move us or separate us from Him.

The devil would love for us to be distracted. Look what we could do if we remained in our walk with Jesus, with no distractions. We would be getting the desires of our heart answered because our desires and focus would be on the things of God.

Let’s start focusing on the things that God says are important and let go of the things that are not. For instance, Jesus healed, delivered and saved the sick. He said the well didn’t need a doctor, so He went to the sick. Don’t be too quick to run away from those that have issues. Those are the very ones that need us and Who we have in us. They are the sick and they need help.

Luke 5:31 (NKJV) 31 Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Jesus didn’t waste time. He went to those who were ready; ready to receive what He wanted to do in them or in their situation. Being ready is being willing to listen and take action, by faith.

James 1:22 (NKJV) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-10-17

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

We have to work at staying focused. It seems that the enemy fights the most at trying to get us off track.

Why? Because if we know the direction we need to go and we stay on course, we will reach our destination. And we will have completed the race that we are called to run.

Winning any race that is put before us requires us to have accurate directions, and the timing is crucial. So staying focused is a BIG part of winning!!

Has God asked us to do something specific? Have we felt like no matter what we try, we can’t seem to get it done? Are there distractions that seem to come and take us off course?

Learning to shut off the distractions is probably one of the hardest things to do in this walk with Christ. Because every day, without a doubt, the enemy will fight us and try to bring up new and better ways to pull on us. Those things will tug at our hearts and minds and whatever else might work. If he can keep us distracted, guess what. He did his job and succeeded at causing us to lose.

Focus. Pull it together by simply saying no to the distractions, even if they seem like nice ones. If they are interfering with the plan that God has for us, they are considered a distraction.
