Bible verses about heeding God’s instruction

Proverbs 19:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. 21 There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel – that will stand.

The Lord’s counsel. This tells us that God’s willing and wanting to counsel us. He will instruct us.

He didn’t leave us to live this life on our own. He’s available to us at anytime that we may seek Him and get answers so that we will make wise decisions, wise moves, so that our life will be fruitful. That we will be the HEAD and not the tail.

Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Being the head and not the tail does not mean we will avoid life’s problems and trials. It simply means that we will be able to come through them and stand up to them, with God’s help, wisdom and direction when things do hit.

Being the head does not happen automatically just because we are His children. No, it doesn’t. It happens when we HEED God, meaning when we listen and obey; When we hear what He is saying to us and do the things He wants us to do at that moment in time.

If we have planned our life out for ourselves and we’re not quite sure if it is God’s plan, it’s a good time to bring it to God and seek Him for clarity.

He is faithful to give us counsel and wisdom to help us. It’s never too late, and it’s not over until it’s over.
