Bible Verse of The Day – 8-28-21

Psalm 149:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. 4 For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.

This verse speaks specifically of the praise and worship He receives from His children.

There is tremendous power in praise and worship. And God loves it!

It is a mighty spiritual weapon given to believers. And when we are praising and worshipping Him, He begins to deal directly with our spiritual enemies.

That’s why it’s so important to continue doing this even when we are in a battle.

We don’t stop. We don’t sit down and whine. We don’t wish we had someone else’s life.

If we want to win any battle, we’d better learn how to drop to our knees in praise and worship to the Lord, our Savior.

Why don’t His children do this more often?

Because the enemy will work extremely hard to distract us, leaving very little time for it.

Our enemy knows that when we spend time worshiping and praising God, we have victory over him. He will fight us tooth and nail to keep us off our knees.

He will fight extra hard to keep us in a continual state of fret, worry and unbelief.

Let us take a few minutes today and ponder on where we stand.

Have we filled up our day already? Did we get caught up in the hustle and bustle and forget about praise and worship?

This is a good day to start over. Rethink it. It’s never too late.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-21

Psalm 119:7 (NKJV) 7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.

Praising God is something we need to keep at the forefront of our relationship and our daily walk with Him.

Our praise to Him should not depend on what song we are listening to.

Our praise to Him should not depend on whether we are having a good day or bad day.

Our praise should not depend on how successful or unsuccessful we are.

Our praise should not depend on whether we got our answer from Him or not.

Praise is something to be done no matter how we feel or how we think at any given time.

Some people may say, “well, how can you praise God at times when nothing is going right?”.

We need to understand that it’s not about things going right. It’s not about us and how we feel at times. It’s not about if we are in the mood or not.

We don’t wait until things get better regarding our situation to praise Him.

That’s not how it works.

We learn to praise Him all the time. Through the storm and in the sunshine. In the valley or on the mountaintop.

Why? Because He is worthy to be Praised!

His judgment is righteous and He is our Lord, Who saved us from our enemy. Hallelujah!

2 Samuel 22:4 (NKJV) 4 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Praise Him daily! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-30-20

Psalm 97:1 (NKJV) 1 The Lord reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad!

God created the world we live in. All around us is beauty. And it is full of life. Everything has movement.

The Bible says to let all the earth rejoice!

When is the last time we rejoiced?

With all the negativity and corruption we see in the world, it seems so hard to find it in our hearts to rejoice.

The other day I was feeling downhearted, thinking of how far backwards we have gone here in the USA, and even in other nations. The things we have allowed in are shameful. I felt we have lost ground because of it.

But as I looked outside, God began to show me the life that is all around us in the things He created. And these things are here for us to look at each day.

There is so much life in the trees. Here in the Northeastern United States, the leaves are so beautiful this time of year.

Or, no matter where you are, when you look up at the sky, the birds are flying and the clouds are moving.

We can look at the ground. The grass is growing. The fields are full of flowers blossoming. The sea is roaring, and the rivers are flowing.

Oh, my goodness; such life and beauty that no person can stop or control.

I got up from my downtrodden state of heart and said, “I praise You God. You are alive in everything around us!!”

We can’t give up.

We need to be alive too. We need to stay in that place of rejoicing and not let evil or darkness try to rob us of our joy!

They can’t touch God’s hand. His work, His majestic creation…. they can’t touch or change it. Such life flows from all of it.

Hallelujah! Shout with us today, because if we don’t, Jesus says in Luke… the rocks will cry out.

Luke 19:40 (NKJV) 40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

We praise You, Lord God. You are alive in all that is around us! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-31-20

Psalm 100: 1-2 (NKJV) 1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.

There’s probably not much shouting with joy these days, with all that is going on.

It is so devastating to look at and watch. And it’s almost unbelievable the way that everything has come to a standstill.

These are the times when shouting joyfully should be even stronger. Why would we shout and sing at a time like this?

Why would Paul and Silas sing and praise God in a time when they had been beaten and stuck in a prison for doing nothing wrong? They sang so loudly that all those around them could hear it.

Acts 16:25 (KJV) 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

We’ve got to understand that these are the times we will see God’s hand move, in the midst of us not knowing what is going on.

He protects His babes; the children that call Him Papa, the children that believe and trust in His Son, Jesus Christ.

This pandemic that has hit the world is coming under control. And it will pass. You can say, “well everything has changed. Will we ever get back to normal?”.

Let it work its way out. Maybe this change is our answer to some things. We need not look only at the bad or the evil that is in it, but the good that comes out of it.

Sometimes when things don’t look the same as what we’re used to seeing, we don’t have the mind of Christ. We start thinking from our own intellect, and the Spirit is pushed down.

We don’t want to be like Peter, standing in the way of things that Jesus needed to do. Let’s get out of the way and let God bring whatever change is necessary.

Mark 8:33 (NKJV) 33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

If we want to help at this time, sing to Him a new song. Praise His name. For the change that is coming will be good for us all!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-27-20

Psalm 86:12 (NKJV) 12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.

As believers, bringing praise to God on a daily basis should be part of our walk with Him.

You see, part of praising Him is recognizing the things He has done for us. Although we hear the term “praise and worship” used a lot, praise is actually different than worship.

We praise God for the things He does. We worship Him for who He is.

So, part of praising Him is recognizing the things He has done for us, and in our lives.

Some of what we praise Him for may be material blessings; a job, a place to live, His provision for us, etc.

But we can and should also praise Him for what He has done in our lives; salvation, deliverance, healing, bringing change to our lives, teaching us His word, and so on.

We all have very, very many things to praise Him for, even when we might not always think so. It’s safe to say that there is more about our lives that is good than there is that’s bad.

That in itself is enough to praise Him every day!

Sometimes we need to still our mind and tell it “enough is enough, I’m going to praise my God, and you’re going to be quiet”.

This takes practice, and it takes us recognizing that our mind is trying to run the show. And once we recognize it, we take action, putting God first, where He belongs.

Let’s make an effort to purposely praise God every day, setting aside our cares, our worries and our concerns, and showing Him our gratitude with our words, our songs and by putting Him first in everything that we do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-23-19

Psalm 86:12 (NKJV) 12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.

Have you ever known that you needed to praise God, but you just didn’t feel like it?

Many people might read that and think about being in a church service and praising God corporately, as a large group. And while that’s the typical setting, this is more about praising God individually, one-on-one.

Sometimes we can feel down. Maybe we’re disappointed about something that happened (or didn’t happen).

Maybe we have been dealt a blow somehow that has us a bit mad at God, even though it wasn’t His fault.

Often times we let our emotions dictate how and when we praise Him, or whether we praise Him at all.

But here’s the thing. Our worship and praise for God isn’t meant to be based on how we feel. Not at all.

God wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth, not based on our emotions or our intellect.

John 4:24 (NKJV) 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

So, no matter how we’re feeling, up, down or somewhere in between, we need to give God our adoration and praise!

Are we feeling sick? Are we disappointed? Are we angry about something? Are we in trouble? Are we in intense pain? Are we stressed? Are we under pressure?

It doesn’t matter. Regardless of what we’re going through, we need to praise our God with everything in us.

He is worthy of our praise, morning, noon and night, no matter how we feel.

Praise Him, saints of God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-16

Psalm 108:3-4 (NKJV) 3 I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples, And I will sing praises to You among the nations. 4 For Your mercy is great above the heavens, And Your truth reaches to the clouds.

No matter what comes our way, it’s important that we never stop praising God for His goodness.

Sometimes life may throw some things at us that we don’t understand. And we may even think that some of those things are unfair. Regardless, though, it’s important that we continue to praise Him.

Why? Because praising Him and thanking Him keeps us humble before Him. It keeps us from holding anger against Him if something doesn’t go the way we think it should go. And it helps us keep our perspective right when we look at our lives.

Let’s face it. There are days when we just plain might not feel like praising Him. But it’s when we push through those feelings and praise Him anyway that brings the most honor and glory to His name.

Psalm 103:1 (NKJV) 1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
