Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-18

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

Hard work pays off. If we can remain strong, keep ourselves focused and stay diligent in the things that God has for us, we will be rewarded.

We all have things that God would like us to do. Making sure we keep everything in its proper order, by prioritizing, is something we will have to learn to do. It can be hard work balancing everything and keeping it in its right place.

So many times, we can get lost in the shuffle if we don’t prioritize and stay steadfast in the things that are important, and keep them at the forefront of everything.

One thing to remember if we have family, a spouse, kids, etc., they are our priority. God wants us to care for our home before our church.

If we can’t care for our family, we are absent from them all the time, and we don’t know where things stand at home, we are off in our priorities.

We need to be careful that excessive work, church activities or other activities don’t come before our family.

If that happens we will know it. We will usually feel stressed out, a loss of joy within ourselves and in our home. We will lose the unity, the tightness, and the closeness we need to keep our family together.

Be strong. Keep everything in our lives in its rightful place and watch how God will reward us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-17

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Where is all of our time spent? Is it at work or on work?  If it is, our relationships will suffer, along with other things.

If all of our time is spent on our family and relationships, instead of our other responsibilities, other things will suffer as well.

When things get out of balance we will feel like everything is chaotic. We lose the peace that God wants us to walk in, and that can cause misunderstandings with those around us.

Keeping things balanced will open the door to a peaceful atmosphere, both in us and around us. It is a learning process and takes action on our part.

Are we willing to learn? Are we willing to do what needs to be done to keep things balanced? If we can answer yes to this, then we will find a better way in this life than the way it has been going for us and our family.

Life is a funny thing. We all need to be taught how to live the way God intended for us to live. Even Adam and Eve blew it. But God did not stop life because of it. Instead, He made another way.

We shouldn’t give up on our family, and we shouldn’t give up on our work because things aren’t working out the way we thought.

Press in, and let God help bring a healthy balance to it all. And as we do, we will see and feel the peace of God surround us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-17

Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

God has put us here to be a light to those around us.

Each and every one of us has people that are in our immediate circle of family and friends; those we are closest to.

These are the people we need to be shining His light on, sharing His love, grace, mercy and compassion with.

Many times it seems that we tend to forget those we are closest to and we spend our time and effort reaching out to others who are more distant and further away from us. It isn’t usually on purpose. It just kind of happens.

But God wants us to focus on those closest to us first. And when we have done everything we should do for those closest to us, then and only then should we be spending time on those outside of our immediate circle of people.

If we are married and have a spouse, our time and effort should be on our spouse first. Then, if we have young children, they should be next. Usually our spouse and our children will be enough to take up the vast majority of our time.

If we have no spouse and no children, then we are free to help others a little more often. But we still need to start with those closest to us.

Many marriages are at risk of failing because we get our priorities mixed up and neglect our spouses. And many children grow up thinking it’s normal for their parents to be out helping others all the time while their emotional and physical needs go unmet.

Part of fixing this problem is making sure we aren’t allowing others to pressure or manipulate us into always being on the run, helping them with their “needs”. Many times, those who appear to be the neediest can get by just fine if we aren’t always running to help them.

We need to let God’s spirit help us with this. He will show us and lead us when it comes to prioritizing these kinds of things. And He will show us who genuinely needs our help if we let Him.
