Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-24

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

God will answer us. But it is our responsibility to take the time to pray and call out to Him. He will show us great and mighty things.

Are we calling to Him? Or are we sitting back waiting for answers and expecting Him to read our minds?

Many of God’s children don’t know that they need to call on Him. They think that He will just take care of everything, and we just wait for Him.

This is not true. We play a part in this, and God is waiting on us to do our part.

One thing I have learned over the years is that when we are in need it is not up to Him to chase us down. We chase Him.

Get up early! Pray, worship, cry out with everything in us.

He wants us to come to Him so He can show us, guide us, and take us places we never knew we could go.

When we become God’s children through faith in Jesus Christ, we now have direct access to our Heavenly Father.

We can call His name and He will answer us and show us great and mighty things!

John 1:12-13 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Call on Him today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-20

Mark 5:28 (NKJV) 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

This woman had no idea that she would go down in history for her courage and her faith.

As believers, we can all learn a lot from her; her determination, her perseverance, her courage, her tenacity, and most of all, from her faith in Jesus to make her whole.

It’s important that we understand what she had been through; 12 years of struggles with a condition that no doctor of that time could help her with.

They had all failed miserably, even making her life worse than it was by the condition itself.

Mark 5:26 (NKJV) 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

Regardless of what she had been through, she trusted that Jesus had what she needed. And despite the fact that there were hordes of people around Him, she defied the odds and pushed through the crowd, even just to be able to touch His clothing.

You see, she wasn’t concerned with talking to Him or even touching Him. She just wanted to touch his clothing, because she knew that was all it would take to get her healing.

Mark 5:28 (NKJV) 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Are we shying away from Jesus today because it might take extra effort to push through and get what we need from Him?

Are we afraid of what people might say or think about us? Do others keep us from Him? Are we afraid He might reject us?

Don’t be! Jesus gave His life to set us free. It’s up to us to reach out and touch Him, even if it’s just his clothing as He passes by.

If the woman in the verses above could do it, so can you and I.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-18

Luke 19:2-4 (NKJV) 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. He knew that Jesus was different. He knew that Jesus was not like so many of the other religious people of that day who shunned those who were perceived as being different or unworthy of their time and attention.

Zacchaeus also knew that seeing Jesus was difficult because so many others wanted to see Him too. They crowded in around Him and pressed in tightly when He passed through their villages and cities.

But Zacchaeus had a plan. Being a short man, he knew that the only way he would be able to see Jesus was to climb a tree and rise above the multitudes, making a way for him to see. So he climbed a Sycamore tree!

You see, Zacchaeus knew that Jesus was worth whatever effort it would take, even just to see Him!

Zacchaeus just wanted to see Him. Others wanted to touch Him.

What about us? How much effort are we willing to put forth? How much are we willing to do when it comes to getting to Jesus?

We all need something from God. Some of us need small things. Some of us need big things. But not a single one of us will ever get what it is that we’re seeking if we just sit by and do nothing.

Thinking it is not enough. Saying it isn’t enough. We need to do something!

Today is the day to get up, take action and rise above the crowd, doing whatever is necessary to get to Jesus. Then and only then will we get whatever it is that we need from Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-15-15

Numbers 13:30 (NKJV) 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

Let us go up at once and take possession!

Caleb had been one of the twelve Israelites who had been sent to spy out the land that God had promised them.

The land was everything God had said it would be, rich with produce and fertile for sustaining life. The fruit that they had brought back to show the others was huge in comparison to normal fruit. It took multiple men to carry it back.

And as they met with Moses and discussed what they had seen, the majority of the men spoke against moving in to take the land. in addition to the incredible bounty of the land, they had seen the inhabitants of the land, and they were very, very big.

In fact, some of them were giants.

But Caleb was not deterred. He knew what God had promised them and was ready to go after it and claim it, even though the majority of the others spoke against doing so.

God has put some things before every one of us. Some of them are very important in our lives and can, in fact, be life-changing.

Most of them will require defeating some giants in order for us to lay claim and take possession of them.

We have a choice. We can shrink back in fear and stay where we are, “wandering in the desert”. Or we can pursue those things and face those giants, defeat them and claim what God has put before us.

Which one will we choose? The choice is ours.
