Bible Verse of The Day – 9-8-26

Psalm 42:5 (NKJV) 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.

Are you fighting discouragement or feeling downcast? Are you exhausted from waiting on God’s hand to move in your situation?

Great men of faith like David and Job felt the same way at times.

That feeling of growing weary or being about to faint is normal, especially if we are carrying a heavy burden for quite some time and not seeing any relief.

Why my soul are you downcast? Why are you depressed?

It’s important that even at times like this we cry out to the Lord and ask Him to renew our strength, help us not grow weary, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

God does not disappoint His children. He will come when we least expect Him.

He knows how much we can take, how long we can wait.

Trust His timing. And let Him renew our strength today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-7-26

Mark 10:6-8 (AMP) 6 But from the beginning of creation God made them male and female. 7 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother [to establish a home with his wife], 8 and the two shall become one flesh; so that they are no longer two, but [are united as] one flesh.

As Jesus addressed the religious leaders who were questioning Him, He spoke the words above, quoting from the Old Testament scrolls, in Genesis 2:24-25.

While the discussion they were having revolved around the topic of divorce, what He said to them has a much larger application than just that topic.

The verses He quoted implicitly state that a man and a woman are joined together in marriage. And that relationship is designed to cause them to become one.

With the moral decay of society in recent years, we are seeing this truth challenged as the world embraces what it calls “same sex marriage” between pairs of homosexual males or homosexual females.

There has been a mass concerted effort over the last 2 decades to dissuade society from accepting Biblical truth and push them to embrace this terrible perversion.

And, sadly, it has worked to some degree, as we see an increasing percentage of the population embrace this “social deviation” that the Bible plainly calls sin.

This has put followers of Christ in some very awkward situations, specifically when it comes to people of the same sex getting married.

Wedding invitations arriving in our mailboxes to attend and witness a homosexual ceremony force us to make what is undeniably a difficult decision for many people.

Most Christians are torn when these invitations arrive. And the big question is always, “should we attend a wedding for a relationship that we know is Biblically wrong?”.

And while there is an emotional element that pulls on us, we must look at this outside of our emotions, looking at it by the spirit, and not through the lens of fear or intimidation.

Here is the bottom-line truth that must be digested, which may make it easier to choose what to do.

Understand why people attend weddings.

We are there to witness, celebrate, and show support to the couple getting married.

Our attendance is a way of giving that marriage our stamp of approval as we witness the sharing of the wedding vows and the joining of that couple.

Just looking at it from that point of view should help us make the decision that we may be wrestling with.

No one can tell us which choice to make. We must choose.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-5-26

Genesis 45:8 (NKJV) 8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

These words are very powerful.

Joseph was speaking to his brothers, explaining that despite the things they had done, they didn’t put him where he was.

It was God who wanted him there for this moment in time.

Joseph had a very hard and challenging life before his current position as ruler of Egypt, next to Pharaoh.

Oh, how painful it must have been to accept the fact his own brothers sold him into slavery. And if that wasn’t bad enough, he spent years in prison for being falsely accused.

And all the while, Joseph stayed the course and trusted God. And wherever he ended up, God gave Joseph favor.

Genesis 39:21 (NKJV) 21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

What his brothers did to him was wrong.

What Potiphar’s wife did to him was wrong.

But God took what was meant for evil and brought good out of it all.

All of what Joseph went through brought him to a place where God could use him to save many lives during a severe famine in the land.

Genesis 50:20 (NKJV) 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Joseph’s life is an example of how God can and will take certain things that happen to us throughout our lives that were meant for evil and, if we stick with Him and don’t give up, He will use them for good.

Are you going through trials today?

Are you in a place where you’ve been falsely accused, or you’ve done nothing wrong to deserve what you are dealing with right now?

Difficult seasons help us to lean on God more than ever and experience His faithfulness through it all.

Stand tall in your faith. Walk out each day accordingly, and see what God will do!

Nahum 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-4-26

Matthew 11:28 (LSB) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Are you weary?

Are you burdened with things that are heavy?

Do you feel like you have more questions than answers?

Are the worries of this world bringing you down?

I’d like to remind you today; I know Someone.

You probably know Him too.

His name is Jesus.

He came to take your sins, your burdens, your cares, and carry them for you.

He bore your sins on the cross.

He was beaten for our transgressions.

He was bruised for our iniquities.

And not once did He complain.

In fact, He did it all willingly. He laid His life down for you, and for me, voluntarily.

And He wants you and I to remember this fact. He wants us to go to Him with our burdens, our cares, and our concerns.

And He wants us to allow Him to hand them off to Him so He can set us free once and for all.

It’s not hard.

In fact, the hardest part is allowing Him to convince us to let these things go and let Him take them.

But that is exactly what we must do; give them to Him.

Psalm 55:22 (NKJV) 22 Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-3-26

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

When God works to correct something in us, we should know it’s going to happen in the way He sees is best, provided we are willing to surrender.

He will even help us in doing what He is asking us to do, but only if we melt at His feet and say, “yes, Lord.”

You see, there is always going to be human-intellect-part of us that wants to know what He will do, how it’s going to affect us, and whether we will be able to do it or not.

Just the other morning, I woke up and was going to run down and use the community pool in our neighborhood. But on this particular day I felt that I needed, instead, to get into my room that I call my “Prayer Chambers”.

When I knelt to pray, I had no idea that God was going to be so specific this day. He started right off the bat and began touching my heart in a strong and powerful way.

I cried, cried, and cried so more.

The thing about God is that He never stops us from sobbing.

He won’t call us a crybaby, tell us we are weak, or that we can’t do what He is requiring of us.

No. Because, if we love and obey Him, all things work out; even the things we have no idea how to do.

Romans 8:28 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

You see, when we say we love God more than anything else, it may be tested at times when He asks us to let go of those things He tells us to let go of.

And for me that day I had to let go of something very deeply rooted in me. Something I never thought He would ask of me. I will admit that I don’t know if I will pass this test. But I’m willing to try.

When God touches us and tells us what is best at this time in our lives, we must listen, follow His lead and give Him a fully surrendered heart.

He has already gone ahead of us to work out the details. We just have to let go of whatever He is asking us to let go of.

And He will take care of the rest.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-26

2 Peter 1:10 (NLT) 10 So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.

As we read through these two verses, it becomes very apparent that Peter was strongly urging the believers who were the recipients of his letter to grow spiritually, that they might become productive and fruitful to God’s kingdom.

Let’s break this down a bit so we can be sure to understand it clearly.

In verse 10, he urges the readers to “work hard” to prove that they are among those God has called and chosen

It’s important to note that he is not in any way at all referring to working for their salvation. He is simply implying that their salvation should be evident in their day-to-day lives by the things they do.

Things get a bit more interesting, though, in the next line, in which he says if you “do these things, you will never fall away”.

There is an important point here that we need to touch on.

We need to know what “things” he is telling them they must do.

For that, we must look at verses 5-7, where Peter urges believers to walk in moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.

And look at what he tells them will happen if they walk in these things.

They will be “neither useless nor unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ”.

These are words that can sting when we first hear them. But it’s important that we see and accept the truth that if we do not grow and obey God, we are not useful or fruitful (productive) to the kingdom of God.

We cannot walk in these attributes or characteristics without allowing the Spirit of God to transform us.

And this happens only when we choose to make it happen.

May we take this seriously and apply it to our lives daily 🙏🏻

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-1-26

1 Kings 18:44 (NKJV) 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’

This rain that Elijah had been praying for, and that was about to come, would end a 3 year drought!

This demonstrates the power of persistent prayer!

When I first moved to NC, God laid a person on my heart to pray for. Oh, they had quite a story and a very hard situation.

Raised in a divorced home, with both parents on drugs and alcohol, this person was heading down the same road.

It was very difficult for me to hear the stories of what they were doing and not be able to say much at the time.

I just listened and prayed as the Holy Spirit led.

There were times I would be prompted to say something regarding God, but mostly I was there to hear them out.

It’s been almost 5 years now, and this same person is attending church on a regular basis, and going to Bible studies.

They are also reading their Bible every day, and trying hard to make better choices.

I can testify that they are changing. The one thing they tell me over and over again is “thank you for not giving up on me”.

Another person that God had laid on my heart to pray for over a period of many years was a prison convict. They’d been in and out of jail many times.

They have lost just about everything they had, and still they look to alcohol for their escape.

But just last night, I was told that they are admitting themselves into a rehab.

I know… it’s going to take more than this to get them to overcome it. But it’s a start; a huge step in the right direction, indicating a change of heart on their part.

I see the little cloud the size of a man’s hand in the sky today, and the rain is about to fall on some lives!

Prayer, people of God. Prayer is the answer to everything.

Believe in the mighty Son of God and follow His leading. And together we will move mountains.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-31-26

Luke 9:23 (LSB) 23 And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

There is an underlying truth in this verse that is incredibly powerful, and even confrontational, if we see it for what it is and what it’s really saying.

The problem with this verse, and others like it, is that we sometimes have a hard time recognizing it. And to be brutally honest, we sometimes don’t want to see it.

Why?

Because what they say demands a response from us. We must make a choice once we grasp the truth of the words Jesus was speaking.

Here is one of the other verses I am referring to.

Matthew 8:22 (LSB) 22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead.”

What do they have in common?

What is it that they are saying that is confrontational and so difficult?

They tell us very plainly that we must lay ourselves down; allow God to strip us of ourselves and make us wholly His own.

Some may read this and deny this truth. It is too difficult for some to acknowledge or admit.

But denying it does not make it so. It only shows us that we are not yet ready to embrace it.

Jesus made it clear to those who wished to follow Him that it would not be easy. Nor was it something they should take lightly.

Luke 9:62 (LSB) 62 But Jesus said to him, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Anyone wanting further confirmation of this need only to read the various epistles of the disciples and they will quickly see that being a disciple of Jesus literally cost them everything; family, material wealth, social standing, relationships, and in many cases their freedom.

And in the end, it cost them their lives, with all but one dying a brutal death by stoning, crucifixion, beheading, flaying, or speared to death.

And John, the one who was not outright killed for his faith, died alone after being exiled to the island of Patmos for his faith.

Following Jesus wholeheartedly has a cost. The question we must ask ourselves is whether we are willing to bear that cost.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-29-26

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

I had a dream last night.

I was cleaning a house. I was alone; the owner of the home was not there.

As I was on the last room, there was a curtain closing off part of a room. I pulled it back and saw a person sleeping on the floor. They woke up and began to speak in another language.

I couldn’t understand them. This caused them to become angry and come after me, chasing me through this house. I ran and ran, but couldn’t find the way out. So I hid.

I woke from the dream, breathing quietly so as not to be heard, still scared he would find me and kill me.

The person in the dream was symbolic of my fears.

It was my fears that were chasing me.

It’s time for us all to pull back that curtain, children of God.

That’s right; we must face these fears. If we don’t, they will chase us and keep us running and hiding.

Maybe there is something we have hidden in our heart from God. It’s a normal reaction; Adam and Eve were the first to try and hide from Him in the garden.

What are we afraid of today, or afraid to tell Him?

We must confront it or it will taunt us, chase us down, and keep us in that place of holding on to unconfessed sin and hidden fears.

Stop running and hiding from it. Talk to God, get it out in the open, and let Him set us free from it.

He will help us and uphold us with His righteous right hand!
