Bible Verse of The Day – 10-24-26

John 17:20-23 (NKJV) 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Being ONE was very important to Jesus as He was praying for the disciples and for all of those who believe in Him.

He prayed for them not only to be one, but to be made perfect in this oneness.

The Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, were always in perfect Oneness. And Jesus prayed to His Father that we would be in such oneness as well. He wanted this for us.

Such oneness only comes through the Holy Spirit; He brings our hearts into a place of oneness as we repent and surrender to Him.

This oneness cannot be achieved by organizational skills, but through spiritual alignment as we love Him with all our heart, all our soul, and every ounce of strength in our being.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NKJV) 4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Hear His voice today, calling us into this oneness with Him. Let Him break down those walls that keep us from being ONE.

Draw close to Him and He will draw near to us, leading us into a cleansing and purification of our heart and mind.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-23-26

1 Timothy 1:18-19 (LSB) 18 This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may fight the good fight, 19 keeping faith and a good conscience, which some, having rejected, suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.

As we walk out our life with Christ on this earth, there are three battles that we must continually fight if we hope to keep our faith intact.

These three things are as follows.

One: We must fight temptation.

Sin is always knocking at our door, looking to gain a foothold and lure us into its grip.

We must equip ourselves with everything God has given us to win this fight. We study His word, pray, and allow God to change our heart.

In doing this, we build our strength to fight, and we draw closer to God, closing any gaps that may allow the enemy in.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Two: We must fight against the things that try to rob us of our time.

Busyness in our lives can rob us of the time we need to grow and nurture our relationship with God.

We must be conscious of this and take the necessary steps to prevent ourselves from becoming so busy that we lose our time with Him. It is critical that we protect it!

Psalm 5:3 (LSB) 3 O Yahweh, in the morning, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.

Three: We must fight complacency.

Over time, complacency can set in if we don’t stay alert.

This can be a symptom of being too busy, as our time with Him becomes diminished.

The flame that once burned bright within us can become smaller, and our faith may begin to weaken.

It is entirely up to us to prevent this from happening!

2 Timothy 1:6 (LSB) 6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Let us not be uninformed about these things. And let us not fall prey to any of them but fight vehemently for the faith that Jesus died for.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-22-26

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

When we step foot out of our home each day to go off to work,  school, etc., how do we leave the house?

Do we leave thinking we are on our own, and we will meet God back at the house later in the day?

Let’s be honest today; most times we function throughout our entire day as though we are alone; as though God is back at the house, or hanging out at Church where we left Him on Sunday.

We prepare ourselves to do whatever we have to do the way we know how to do it; the way we have learned it.

We don’t stop to ask God what we should do unless we run into difficulties, or things don’t go the way we thought they would go.

But consider this.

Why would we not include God in some of these things we face throughout our day?

If He goes wherever we go, He knows what we are dealing with at any given moment in time.

Today, if you come up against a situation on your job, at your school, maybe in your church, or even in your home, please don’t forget to seek God for His plan, wisdom, or answer.

He’s right there!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-21-26

Psalm 100:5 (LSB) 5 For Yahweh is good; His lovingkindness endures forever And His faithfulness, generation unto generation.

We recently published a video in which we taught about the incredible, enduring faithfulness of God.

The video was called “His Faithfulness Reaches to The Skies”.

And in Monday’s devotional, we taught about the fact that with God there is “no shadow of turning”. He doesn’t change.

Today, we’d like to discuss an aspect of God that helps further confirm His faithfulness.

In the verse above, we read that His faithfulness endures across generations.

It never ceases.

The importance of us recognizing this cannot be allowed to escape us.

It is His faithfulness that anchors us. For without His faithfulness, our trust and hope in Him would be in vain.

The truth of His faithfulness enduring across the generations is confirmed once again in Psalm 119:90.

Psalm 119:90 (LSB) 90 Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation; You established the earth, and it stands.

Why do we repeat this theme again today?

Because it is more important than we realize, not only to understand it, but to ingrain this truth deep within our spirit.

For this truth is a weapon to use against the enemy when we are being inundated with thoughts of doubt or attacks that attempt to bring fear into our minds.

And when we have this truth firmly embedded in our minds, that same enemy will have no room whatsoever to take up residence in our heads and live there.

On the contrary, this very potent truth will be the weapon that drives him out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-20-26

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV 11 Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

We must make a conscious effort to encourage others.

We can do this by giving them a compliment, a helping hand, or praying for them.

Sometimes all it takes to turn someone’s day or situation around is for them to hear someone say something kind or nice.

Being encouraged can make a huge difference in a person; it gives them courage, hope and confidence to face challenges and keep moving forward.

One day, I was talking to a person. I shared some things that I felt God had placed on my heart to share with them.

They couldn’t believe what I was saying. They said to me, “I needed to hear that today”. And they went on to explain why.

Afterward, it was like their whole mood changed; like they were a different person. They had a leap in their step!

Oh, praise the Lord!

Let God lead us in being an encourager today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-19-26

James 1:17 (LSB) 17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

There is much in this verse that brings glory and honor to God.

But we’d like to focus on one phrase here today, so we can be sure to understand it fully; with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

This may not seem like much at first glance. And maybe it makes no sense at all due to the way it is worded.

But let’s take a closer look so we can get its full meaning.

At the beginning of the verse, James is extoling God’s virtues, proclaiming that every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.

This verse is easy to interpret; all good things come from God above, the Father of lights.

First, let’s clarify why James called Him (God) the Father of lights.

He was asserting that God is the One who created those lights above; the planets and stars in the heavens.

He then proclaimed that with God there is ” no variation or shifting shadow”.

The NKJV translation says there is “no shadow of turning”.

Either way, unless we understand the imagery being used here, we will never fully understand or appreciate what James is teaching.

The light of all heavenly bodies, the sun, moon, and stars, is affected by the earth’s rotation, causing variations, shadows, etc. This is what drives moon phases, different angles of the sun during different seasons, and partial or full eclipses of the sun or moon.

But with God there are no variations, no shadows, and no turning.

So, what is James really saying? That God is constant. He never changes.

And it is on this that we can base our faith in Him, knowing that He will not be different tomorrow than He was today.

He is our ever-faithful, ever-stable, ever-solid rock upon which we can stand.

He will never fail us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-17-26

Romans 12:9 (NKJV) 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

Jesus is our example of the love we need to walk in.

He didn’t just tell us and leave us to figure it out on our own.

No. He showed His love through the things He did for us.

Jesus came for those who were sick and in need of a physician; the people who recognized their spiritual brokenness and needed His healing.

Luke 5:31-32 (NKJV) 31 Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

He spoke words of truth that brought repentance and healing to the hearts of the people.

Jesus Christ willingly gave up His life for us so that we could have life through Him each day, and an eternal home with Him forever!

That is love without hypocrisy. There was no acting, no faking, and no masks allowed with a love like this!

John 14:15 (NKJV) 15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

We must also walk in this kind of love toward Him.

If we say we love Him and do not obey Him, that is a form of hypocrisy.

We must walk this out in our lives, taking action to love Him with all our hearts by obeying Him, abhorring what is evil, and clinging to what is good.

It is what He has told us we must do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-16-26

Psalm 57:3 (LSB) 3 He will send from heaven and save me; He reproaches him who tramples upon me. Selah. God will send His lovingkindness and His truth.

There are some interesting visuals in this verse if we look a bit more closely at it!

The word “reproaches” has some interesting connotations that deserve a closer look.

Across several translations, there are mentions of “reproaches” meaning He rebukes, disgraces, calls into account those who trample upon us, His children.

Exactly what does it mean by “trampling upon” us?

Snaps at, hounds, swallows us up, or hotly pursues us are all definitions of being trampled upon in these verses.

God faithfully offers protection to His children while also giving accountability to those who persecute us.

Do we always see that protection played out instantly, or in our direct view?

No. Not always.

His timing and His methods are not always in line with our desires. So, though we may wish in the flesh to see justice carried out on our behalf, God may take care of these matters in ways that we don’t recognize or in a time and place where we are unaware.

The important thing for us is to recognize His sovereignty and His protection over those He calls His own.

And that is something that we can find peace and solace in, as we trust Him to be faithful in what He has promised.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-15-26

Acts 5:1-2 (NKJV) 1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

Now, Ananias and Sapphira could have kept all that they had when they sold their possession. That wasn’t the problem here. The problem was what they were pretending to do.

After they sold it, they gave a portion of their sale to the apostles, making it look as though they had given the whole thing.

They were being deceptive, not just to them, but to the Holy Spirit. That was the problem.

Acts 5:2 (NKJV 2 And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

You see, before this incident took place those who believed were of one heart and one soul.

They were sharing a deep spiritual bond driven by the Holy Spirit. They did not view their material goods as their own, but were bringing all they had to the apostles and sharing it with those in need.

Out of love for Jesus Christ, they were giving up their possessions to take care of those in desperate need, poverty, or without in their community.

Ananias and Sapphira were pretending to bring in everything they had, but keeping back a portion secretly was what cost them their lives.

Acts 5:3-5 (NKJV) 3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? 4 While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” 5 Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things.

Because of their deception and lies, they both died, bringing in a holy fear and reverence toward God among the early church.

How important it is in our walk with God to be honest with Him.

No, we may not drop to the ground and die if we are dishonest.

But we need to see the importance of God wanting us to be honest, to have heartfelt integrity, and be genuine in what we do with Him and others.
