Bible Verse of The Day – 8-29-26

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

I had a dream last night.

I was cleaning a house. I was alone; the owner of the home was not there.

As I was on the last room, there was a curtain closing off part of a room. I pulled it back and saw a person sleeping on the floor. They woke up and began to speak in another language.

I couldn’t understand them. This caused them to become angry and come after me, chasing me through this house. I ran and ran, but couldn’t find the way out. So I hid.

I woke from the dream, breathing quietly so as not to be heard, still scared he would find me and kill me.

The person in the dream was symbolic of my fears.

It was my fears that were chasing me.

It’s time for us all to pull back that curtain, children of God.

That’s right; we must face these fears. If we don’t, they will chase us and keep us running and hiding.

Maybe there is something we have hidden in our heart from God. It’s a normal reaction; Adam and Eve were the first to try and hide from Him in the garden.

What are we afraid of today, or afraid to tell Him?

We must confront it or it will taunt us, chase us down, and keep us in that place of holding on to unconfessed sin and hidden fears.

Stop running and hiding from it. Talk to God, get it out in the open, and let Him set us free from it.

He will help us and uphold us with His righteous right hand!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-28-26

1 John 3:2 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

There is a small piece of this verse that is very intriguing if we happen to catch it.

While it is all very deep at its heart, this particular piece is mind-numbing in its scope and meaning.

Which piece is it?

“For we shall see Him as He is.”

Now, that may not seem intriguing at first glance. But consider what it is really saying.

If we will see Him as He is, then we (humanity) have not yet truly seen Him. We have seen only a representation of Him!

Let me explain.

Yes, Jesus came to earth. And He dwelt among men. He taught them, dined with them, ministered to them, and then died for us all before their eyes.

But we must understand that what human eyes beheld was an incarnate Christ, not Christ in His fullness.

Why?

Because humanity cannot stand in the presence of Christ in His fullness in our human form. It is impossible.

We are mere human flesh. And though we may enter into God’s presence boldly to pray and to seek Him, we cannot stand physically in front of Him face to face.

We would not be able to withstand His holiness and the unfathomable power of who He is.

Had Christ come to earth in His true form, the human mind would not have been capable of comprehending it.

He brought Himself down to a level that we (created beings) could interact with, look upon, and touch without being consumed by the sheer magnitude of who He is.

The Apostle Paul touched on this.

Philippians 2:7 (LSB) 7 but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a slave, by being made in the likeness of men.

Only when we have been made “like Him” shall we “see Him as He is”.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-27-26

Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

The kingdom suffers violence.

Those who were against God’s move attacked with violent resistance. John the Baptist was put in prison and beheaded. Christ was crucified.

They were strongly opposed to the truth. They did whatever they could to stop it.

Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, don’t lay down and die though. No, we take it back by force.

We rise up in faith and we continue to stand up for the truth.

We do whatever it is that God is calling us to do. We stand together and continue to win this battle. It is a continual battle because evil doesn’t sleep or rest.

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Principalities of darkness are always at work. And how do we fight back?

We keep standing on God’s word and walking in faith. We share the truth about Christ, and we continue to pray for one another and for the world.

And we walk it out boldly in our lives, every day.

We don’t take the kingdom gingerly. We don’t take it kindly, We take it by force!

Pray today in the Spirit and move mountains!

Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV) 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-26-26

John 1:12 (LSB) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

This verse, and others like it, show us that we are not children of God simply because we are born.

It is when we receive Him, through faith in Christ, that we become His child.

It requires a conscious choice for this to happen.

Likewise, we don’t grow and mature as a believer accidentally.

Unlike the human body, which grows involuntarily as we age, we don’t grow spiritually by simply sitting back and allowing time to go by, hoping it will happen.

Growing and maturing is a choice we make!

We decide whether we will grow and mature as a follower of Christ. No one can make us grow involuntarily. No one can force us to grow.

We are taught throughout the word of God that if we wish to find Him and draw near to Him (grow and mature), we must seek Him and do so with our whole heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

James tells us very plainly that we must draw near to Him if we desire Him to draw near to us.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Interestingly, James also refers to those who expect to draw near to God without putting forth the necessary effort as “double-minded”, exposing the hypocrisy of this notion.

As followers of Christ, we must desire to grow. We must understand that effort is required. And we must do whatever is necessary to put forth that effort.

Casual Christianity is a myth; a lie from the enemy to lull believers to sleep and prevent us from producing fruit for the kingdom of God.

But casual Christianity is exactly what we practice if we fail to grow and mature as believers.

1 John 2:3-4 (LSB) 3 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-25-26

2 Corinthians 4:9 (NKJV) 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—

Prayers are going out for you today.

God is right there with you. You are not alone.

He knows this journey is not an easy one, and He is willing to carry you, protect you and walk you through this each day.

I don’t know who this is for today, but your time of jubilee is right around the corner. You have been persecuted and struck down.

Although you feel broken, you have not been destroyed.

There isn’t a day that goes by that God does not know what you are feeling, thinking, or dealing with.

Take it one day at a time and you will get through this if you don’t give up.

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Tomorrow will take care of itself; you are not to even think of it. It will come and you will be just fine if you follow God’s words of wisdom.

He is our compass and our rock. Listen for His direction.

Psalm 43:3 (NKJV) 3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your tabernacle.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-24-26

1 Peter 4:1-2 (LSB) 1 Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin 2 so as to no longer live the rest of the time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

These are 2 very powerful verses. And each of us should weigh them against our walk with God.

“Arm yourselves with the same purpose” are direct words, spoken not to soothe us, but to prick our conscience and wake us up.

What was Peter referring to?

He was speaking directly about suffering for Christ, living the kind of life that does not shrink back from danger.

What suffering was he speaking of?

He was referring specifically to physical suffering for our faith in Christ, including death, using Christ as our example.

And let us pay close attention to what he said additionally. For these words should shake us from our complacency and wake us from our slumber with a jolt.

“He who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.”

Physically suffering for our faith puts things into perspective in a way that renders sin unappealing to us once we have suffered. It wakes us up to the realities of Who it is we put our faith in, and why we do it.

It causes us to recognize the seriousness of what faith in Christ truly means, stripping away the meaningless things that we have attached to it over time, and the halfhearted attitude we tend to adopt toward our walk with God.

Our faith should mean everything. It should dominate what we do, what we think, and why we do the things we do.

As Peter so aptly put it, we should “no longer live the rest of the time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God”.

No words we write can speak this truth any more plainly or powerfully than that.

So, we simply say “Amen.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-22-26

Genesis 22:11 (NKJV) 11 But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” So he said, “Here I am.”

Wow! Abraham was at a place in his heart with God where he would withhold nothing from Him; not even his only son.

These 3 words, “Here I am”, have so much meaning to them.

Abraham didn’t know what God was about to say, but he was willing and ready in his heart to do just about anything.

We probably can’t even fathom what God asked Abraham to do.

Genesis 22:2 (NKJV) 2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

Here today, we struggle with giving our tithe to Him.

Or we struggle with letting go of certain things He may ask us to give up, like relationships, careers, or maybe certain entertainment, etc.

As God asks Abraham to take his son, and emphasizes his only son, to offer him up as a burnt offering on the mountain, God knew the depth of this sacrifice.

Will we obey God’s voice today?

Will those three words, “Here I am”, ever leave our mouths, showing our willingness to sacrifice the very thing God has blessed us with, yet is now asking us for?

Genesis 22:18 (NKJV) 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

God is faithful to bless us as we obey Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-21-26

Psalm 18:2-3 (LSB) 2 Yahweh is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3 I call upon Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies.

Some days we just need to be reminded who God is and that He is faithful.

For me, today is one of those days.

I am wrestling with sadness, and even fighting back tears today, as I ponder some of the things that I see others going through.

Some of these burdens are heavy. But I know they are not mine to carry alone.

It is God who gives me strength to bear them and to pray.

He is my shield. And if you allow Him to, He will be your shield as well.

One thing I’d like to make you aware of in these verses is the word “rock”.

That word is literally translated as “crag”.

What is a crag?

It is a steep, rough, or rugged mass of rock that sticks out from the land around it. Crags are not easily scaled or conquered by those attempting to climb or overcome them.

And so it is with God. He cannot be overcome by adversaries.

Let us take refuge in Him, where we are safe from our enemies. And let us call upon Him and draw strength from Him as we face those adversaries.

For He is worthy to be praised.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-26

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

God wants you today.

He wants our heart.

You say, “oh no, my heart is mean. It’s full of junk. It’s constantly jealous, and it can be deceitful at times. I’ve done some things; God would never want me unless I cleaned up pretty good first. And even then, I’m not too sure if He would even want me then.

He would want the one who knows how to pray, that goes to church and worships Him in such a pretty way. He would want the one who stands in church every Sunday and goes to Bible study without fail. You know, the ones who carry their Bible and dress so nicely. And when you ask them anything, they have the right scripture on their tongue when needed. Those are the ones God loves.”

We look at ourselves as not being good enough for God; I’m not a good person. I’m sick inside.

Mark 2:17 (NKJV) 17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

He wants us to come to Him right now, just the way we are, with a repentant heart.

He came for those who need a physician; those who are sick, those in sin.

We are all in the same boat. We all need His saving grace.

He loves you. Won’t you come to Him today?
