Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-26

Nahum 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

When we face overwhelming trials, God is our stronghold.

Most importantly, He knows those who trust Him.

When we have no words…do we trust Him?

When the doctor gives us a negative report…do we trust God to turn it around?

When we have to make a change and move from our familiar area, uncertain of what we will do for work when we get to our destination or if we will even like the new place, do we trust Him?

Maybe today He is asking us to take on a very big step. Do we trust Him?

Remember, His way is perfect!

2 Samuel 22:31 (NKJV) 31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-26

John 14:15 (LSB) 15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

Following Jesus is not fundamentally difficult. Or at least it wasn’t meant to be.

Yes, we may face trials or persecution as His follower. But the principles of following Him are not inherently complicated.

His statement above shows the simplicity of what He asks of us; “keep (obey) My commandments”.

Now, there are spiritual principles in play that our walk with Him revolves around. And some of these are indeed very deep.

But what He asks of us isn’t deep at all.

He has told us that we are to obey Him.

He placed great importance on this.

How do we know this? Because He implicitly told us that we will do this “if we love Him”.

This places a great emphasis on what He said.

His words imply that not obeying Him means we don’t love Him, or at least that we don’t love Him in the way He desires us to.

That’s a sobering thought, isn’t it?

When Jesus spoke these words, He was encouraging us to obey, not out of rigidity or in a ritualistic way, but out of sincerity and devotion to Him.

So, there are two things that we can take away from this.

First, loving Him is something we learn over time. As we grow and mature, so does our love for Him.

Second, if we feel that maybe we aren’t loving Him in the way He expects or asks us to, we aren’t powerless to fix it.

In fact, we are the only ones who have the power to make it right.

Beating ourselves up over it won’t do any good. We just need to repent, pick ourselves up by the bootstraps, so to speak, and make the adjustments that need to be made!

And only we know what those adjustments are 😉

God is forever merciful. It is not His desire to punish us, but to draw us ever nearer to Himself where we can experience His love in its fullness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-26

Job 33:4 (NKJV) 4 The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

He not only made us, but He brought us to life by breathing His breath into man.

Every breath we breathe is God-given.

This is so precious.

I’ve witnessed two people in my life take their very last breath.

One of them, after being unconscious in the hours leading up to that last moment, opened their eyes and said, “it’s time for me to go now, don’t cry.”

The other person said, “I guess I’m not going to beat it this time”. I said, “it’s OK. I love you”.

They replied, “ I love you too”. I sat beside them and felt their breathing slowly come to a halt.

The life and breath in them were gone in the snap of a finger.

Just like that, they were here and then gone, to be in the presence of the Lord.

Why? Because they had given their heart to Him.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Oh, praise be to God. As a believer it’s a wonderful day when we take our last breath, for the Word of God says we are present with Him!

Let us not take life for granted. We are one breath away from meeting our Maker. Let us use His breath in our lungs to serve and obey Him to the fullest.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-22-26

2 Corinthians 5:9 (LSB) 9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

Many of us forget, or maybe have never really considered, the fact that our lives here are just a sort of preamble to what’s yet to come; eternity in God’s presence.

It’s easy for us to get caught up in the here and now, so focused on earthly concerns and obligations that we lose sight of our eternal purpose.

Life is busy. Distractions are many.

And sometimes that makes it easy to lose sight of what’s important in the big scheme of things.

But this verse tells us plainly that our goal (ambition) should be to please Him, whether we’re at home (here in our bodies), or absent (in His presence for eternity).

We are all guilty of overcomplicating this.

Sometimes we make excuses. Other times, we just get caught up in life’s concerns and get off track.

But consider this a challenge today to hold onto what’s important and keep our priorities in line, always giving God preeminence, making pleasing HIM the focus of everything we do.

This is not spiritually deep, but critically important and worth our time and attention.

So, for those of us who may have forgotten, or somehow gotten off track, today is a good day to correct our course.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-26

Romans 15:13 (NKJV) 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes it’s hard to remain hopeful. Everything around us seems to work to bring us down; to exhaust us and cause us to reach a point of throwing in the towel and giving up.

Someone out there today needs hope. You are tired from the fight, and you are about to let go.

What if I were to tell you that if you ask God for the power of the Holy Spirit to be poured out upon you and give you that hope you need to get you through the rest of this season, He will come in like a mighty rushing wind and fill your heart with all joy, peace and hope to get you through this season that you’re currently in.

Give God a shout out…

Dear God,

My fight is getting harder. My body is getting weaker, and I need your hope to fill me and keep me standing.

Lord, Jesus, I’m asking You today. Please fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit, that I may finish this race and cross the finish line.

Thank you, Lord. For I know that You are faithful!

In the name of Jesus Christ I pray 🙏🏻

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-19-26

Romans 15:4 (LSB) 4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through the perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

We wrote on Wednesday about joy. Today we will write about hope.

Joy and hope are intertwined, and are a fruit of, studying God’s word and drawing near to Him.

It is in His word that we learn of Him.

And it is in learning of Him that we find hope.

The world we live in is a place full of hopelessness and desperation.

Depravity is all around us as morals decline and self takes center stage.

But in Him we find hope.

In Him, we find peace and solace.

And in Him, we find rest that cannot be found in the things of this world.

As the verse above clearly states, the encouragement of Scriptures brings hope to our lives.

This results in, and is strengthened by, drawing nearer to God.

Life’s traumas and difficulties are softened by God’s hand on our lives.

It is in being near to Him that we find our strength, not only to endure and persevere, but to find victory even in the strongest of storms.

So let us set aside the time each day to immerse ourselves in His word, and to build that relationship that is more important than any other.

And in these we will find hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-18-26

Genesis 1:27 (NKJV) 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

All man is created in His image. We are mirrored after Him, not physically, but through a combination of qualities and character traits.

We can think, reason, and make choices. We have a conscience, and the ability to discern good and evil.

While all humans bear God’s image, it is believers that look to His Son, Jesus Christ, as the clearest model for perfectly reflecting His love, His mercy and His character.

Colossians 1:15 (NKJV) 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

As we learn to follow Jesus Christ and walk accordingly, we are walking out the purpose for our life.

God created us all in such a way to fulfill this purpose, let us take it seriously and be purposeful each day.

Paul said it best…

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) 31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-26

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The redemption of mankind is a serious topic. It has eternal ramifications and consequences.

And if we’re not careful, we can focus so much on the seriousness of it, and the trials that we face in life, that we lose sight of the joy in it.

Remember, our redemption is a miracle of God!

We need to be sure we view it as such and take joy in what that means.

One of the ways we can do this is to remind ourselves of the sin that we have been forgiven for and redeemed from.

That is a bright spot that we can’t ignore.

And we can find joy in knowing that no matter what we face in life, God walks us through it, guiding us by the Holy Spirit.

Take note of the words of Jesus.

John 15:11 (NKJV) 11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.

And let these words below, penned by Paul, be etched in your heart.

Romans 15:13 (NKJV) 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-26

Luke 6:37-38 (NKJV) 37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

What is it that will be measured back to us?

The same measure that we use when judging others, condemning them, and/or forgiving them, will come back to us based on what we give out.

Maybe today we walk around thinking it’s OK to judge others based on our own opinions. We feel like it’s our job.

But it isn’t up to us to judge someone’s actions based on what we think. It is up to us to judge ourselves and our own actions first. Only then can we judge others in a righteous and just manner.

When we learn that we are not the Judge, it causes us to be able to focus on what God is saying and showing us about our own lives. We are not in people’s business so much.

You see, paying constant attention to others and what they are doing, while failing to pay attention to ourselves, is a distraction in our walk with God.

It keeps us in a constantly distracted state of mind.

As I pondered this scripture, I prayed for God to help us to build our character in this area, that we would see and interact with others without condemnation, and that through our obedience in walking this out, they would see Christ in us in a powerful way.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-26

Ecclesiastes 1:14 (NKJV) 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.

The lives we live here are about more than we recognize.

We tend to view them through natural eyes of understanding, lacking spiritual discernment and the godly wisdom to see past the here and now.

We live seeking comfort and satisfaction in carnal things; the things of this world that we have become accustomed to living by.

But God wants so much more for us during our journey here in human skin.

Most of what we pursue is meaningless when we look at it through the lens of eternity and all things related to the kingdom of God.

What we used to view as major in our minds becomes miniscule when we get this understanding.

And it can change our perspective about life and the things we view as important.

It’s not unusual that it takes us years, and likely decades, to get this understanding.

Why is that?

Because it requires spiritual growth and maturity on our part. And that takes time and intentional effort to develop.

We encourage you to take time and reflect on what you view as important. Weigh it on a scale that uses God’s word and Biblical truth as its balance.

And reflect on it, asking God to speak truth to your heart, that He may reveal things to you that you never thought possible.

The results, if we allow them to, will be life-changing and will alter the path of our lives.
