Bible Verse of The Day – 8-2-22

John 10:11 (NKJV) 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

The “Word Wealth” notes in my study Bible describe good as a descriptive word signifying that which is beautiful, pleasing, acceptable, excellent, serviceable, attractive, honest.

There is nothing bad regarding this word, good. And I would say that our Good Shepherd is excellent in every way possible.

Jesus is saying, “I am the good Shepherd and I gave My life for My sheep”.

Who are His sheep? They are those who believe in His name and receive Him. To those, He gives the right to become children of God. Hallelujah!

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name

If Someone gives their life for us, what can we do to show them our gratitude and our thanks?

We can tell others about this life-giving Shepherd!

We can spread the good news and express kindness and love through doing the right things in our life.

We can show Him how grateful we are by obeying His word and taking on the lifestyle He has for us.

This good Shepherd, Who gave His life for us, can never be compared to anything or anyone else; not wealth, not material gain, not successful careers, not even people in power.

No man on earth can ever come close to what our good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, has done for His sheep!

Be grateful today. We are truly blessed!
