(Judges 1:1-2 NKJV) Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, “Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?” {2} And the LORD said, “Judah shall go up. Indeed I have delivered the land into his hand.”
Notice that in this verse the children asked God, their Father, a question as to what steps to take next. “What do we do Lord?” The Lord, in return, answered His children.
God has no problem telling His children His plan for us. Are we His children today? Yes, we are!!
If we are, then He wants us to come to Him and ask Him things before we make a move or a decision on our own. This is important. As children of God we must not be afraid to go to Him. He will give us direction for our future.
Do we always know why He tells us to do a specific thing? No; sometimes it takes time for us to see His whole plan. Sometimes we may never know why. But if we trust God with our lives we will be at peace with it.
Let’s be sure to go to our Heavenly Father for questions and direction for our lives, and then let’s wait on Him for the answer. He is faithful to lead us down the right path.
