Bible Verse of The Day – 7-1-15

Hebrews 3:4 (NKJV) 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God.

Sometimes it may seem like the world is nothing more than a mad ball of chaos.

There is a constant, ongoing battle between good and evil. And many times it seems like evil might be winning, as we see what appear to be victories for the enemy all around us.

But we live here on the earth. And the earth was built by God, our heavenly Father. This is His house… His project. Therefore it has to abide by His word and His rules. So nothing that happens here shocks Him or causes Him to abdicate His throne.

We are the inhabitants of His creation, this earthly kingdom. As His children, we are also present and future inhabitants of His spiritual kingdom, here, on earth and later, in Heaven.

As His children, we have a responsibility to oversee what he has entrusted to us, in the natural and in the spiritual realms.

In the natural, we need to care for the earth and the material things He blesses us with.

In the spiritual realm, we need to do battle with those unseen forces of evil. Sometimes this will require us to stand and speak out, and be seen and heard by others.

But other times it requires us to do warfare in the spirit, without anyone else ever seeing or hearing from us. The only exception would be the devil. When we engage in spiritual warfare, he should feel the repercussions.

So with everything that’s happening in the world these days, if you’re not sure whether to speak out or not, the very least we should do is pray; rebuke the powers of darkness, bind demons and loose God’s freedom in the earth. Pray in the Spirit and push the enemy back with the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 16:19 (NKJV) 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Let’s use the weapons that God has entrusted us with.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-10-15

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Nowadays, everything is done by intellect, human knowledge and understanding.

Intellectuals will have a very hard time believing that there is such a thing as the devil, demons or evil spirits. They will try to explain it away with something that makes sense to their heads.

Everything these days seems to have to have a name. Demonic oppression has been replaced by hundreds of different kinds of disorders, which all have names, and which get treated with various kinds of prescription drugs.

Evil deeds are blamed on a person’s childhood, or something traumatic that may have happened to them, instead of admitting that evil has influenced a person’s mind and impaired their judgement.

Nobody wants to admit that evil exists, therefore, nobody ever tries to eliminate evil or deal with things on a spiritual level. And this causes evil to win way too many battles.

It’s time for the church, the children of God, to call evil what it is and stop falling for the nonsense that the world is feeding us. Yes, there are some psychological disorders that are real. But much of what is being passed off as a disorder of some kind is nothing more than demonic spirits wreaking havoc with a person’s mind.

So until the world sees evil for what it is, and treats it as such, evil will continue to prevail in so many areas of people’s lives, and in society in general.

It’s time for us to call it what it is and then treat it properly, with the blood and the name of Jesus. Only the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus will prevail over evil.

But we can only prevail over evil if we recognize it as evil and call it as such.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-14

Luke 4:33-34 (NKJV) 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

We live in a world that is tangible… natural. We base so much of what we do on what we see.

But, what we fail to understand so many times is that most of what we see happening in the natural is the result of unseen things in the spiritual realm.

Every second of every day, there are invisible battles being fought between good and evil, angels and demons.

And whether we choose to believe it or not, we are part of that ongoing struggle between darkness and light.

Demons feared Jesus. They trembled at His presence and begged Him to leave them alone.

They should do no less when they see us, the children of God. Jesus said that if we believed, we could do even greater things than He did.

John 14:12 (NKJV 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

So it’s time for us to rise up! We need to use the armor and the weapons that God gave us and go to battle for the kingdom. We are not meant to sit idly by as evil pervades this world that we live in.

Weapons were intended to be offensive, not just for defense. So let’s start using them and pushing the kingdom of darkness back!

Pray. Rebuke darkness. Bind demonic powers. Loose freedom and light!

Rise up and conquer, in Jesus’ name!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-26-14

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Are you a believer, a follower of Jesus Christ? Have you been washed by His blood? Have you put your faith in Him and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, I want to tell you something. Some of you may already know this, but some of you may be surprised.

We are in a war.

I’m not talking about a war of guns or bombs. This is not a war of knives, spears, chains or any other kind of “natural” war. We are in a spiritual war.

Every single minute of every day there is a war being fought. We don’t see it in the natural. But it’s happening nonetheless. The spiritual world is one of constant battles. They are being waged and fought on so many fronts across the entire world.

And we are a part of that war, whether we realize it or not. Satan and his demons fight for our souls. They fight to tear down everything that God has done to secure our eternal future. They fight to destroy us, both physically and spiritually.

As followers of Christ, we are also soldiers. Or at least we should be. We have been enlisted to do battle with the enemy and keep him in check while we’re here on this earth.

So we need to take this war seriously. We need to understand it and we need to know what part we play in it and what God wants of us. We need to be good soldiers!

2 Timothy 2:4 (NKJV) No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

So ask God today what role He wants you to play in this war. What does He want you to do each day? Who can you pray for? Who can you encourage? What powers of darkness does He want you to rebuke and bind?

There are so many things we need to be busy doing as a soldier for Christ in God’s army.

We can’t take this lightly. It’s serious warfare.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-24-12

(Mat 10:36 NKJV)  “and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’

Are we going through family turmoil in our homes, within our church family, or in our work place, etc.? Well, don’t let it take you by surprise. God’s Word shows us that we don’t have to look very far to find enemies; they can be right in our own backyard.

It’s very hard when we have family members, close friends or co-workers that cause trouble for us, simply because they don’t agree with who we have chosen to be in Christ or how we choose to handle things.

It’s possible they are just plain jealous because good things are happening in our lives and they can’t handle it. But we can’t let them stop us from doing what is right and being all that Christ calls us to be.

We have to be alert, stand our ground, be who God has called us to be, and keep moving forward with love!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-24-12

(John 14:12 NKJV)  “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

I know we have touched on this subject recently, but I want to hit it again because it’s so very critical to the life of the church.

Jesus spoke these words. He proclaimed very plainly, using no symbolism whatsoever, that we, His followers and believers, would do greater works than He did. He went on to say, a few verses later, that the Father would be sending the Holy Spirit, the helper, who would abide with us forever.

Jesus never, ever told us that we would do miracles for a short time and then that power would run out when the last apostle died. He never intended for His church to be duped into believing that healing and deliverance were only for specific people to perform during a specific era.

In the verse above He plainly stated that “he who believes in Me” will do greater works then He did.

We are meant to live a life that displays the power of God through the Holy Spirit. We need the power of the Holy Spirit. Anything less is just knowledge and intellectualism. Intellect can never fight spiritual battles, cast out demons or heal a sick body.

I implore you today to believe God’s word in its full power, not just part of it! It’s essential for us to take God at His word and live a life of power and spiritual understanding if we are to be effective in this world.

Seek God and ask Him to give you understanding so you can walk in the power He intended for us to have.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-13-12

(1 Sam 17:49-51 NKJV)  Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. {50} So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. But there was no sword in the hand of David. {51} Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

I want everyone to take note of something in the verses above.

David prevailed over Goliath when he hit him in the forehead with a stone. Goliath fell, face down, dead. But David didn’t stop there. Despite not having a sword of his own, he ran and took the sword of Goliath and stuck him, cutting his head off.

David finished the job. He could have walked away, leaving Goliath there on the ground. But he needed to make a statement to the enemy by cutting off the head of their champion.

We also need to make a statement to the enemy. As Christians, many of us have become weak in our battles and don’t make good use of our weapons, leaving the enemy alive at times when we need to finish him off.

God has given us weapons to fight with, so we need to learn to use them and WIN our battles, defeating the enemy soundly, not partially.

I want to encourage everyone today to rise up in battle and fight. Fight for your children, fight for your spouse, fight for your friends and fight for your spiritual leaders. Stand up and swing your sword and cut off the head of the enemy!!

We can do this. We just need to know that we can and then take action!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-12

(Phil 4:13 NKJV)  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We are never expected to do things on our own!

I know there must be a lot of us going through some kind of battle right now, because it seems that many of the verses we’re being prompted to share are about battles, victories, trials and depending on God to help us through them.

On our own, we’re weak, feeble and lacking in so many areas. Oh, I know that’s not something we like to hear, but it’s plain, simple truth.

But in Christ, we can do all things! He gives us strength, peace, joy, understanding, discernment, compassion and victory! There is nothing that we lack in Christ.

Press into Him today. Make that extra effort to push through the obstacles and touch the hem of his robe and get your healing, your deliverance, and your victory. It doesn’t always come easy, but it does come if we depend on Him for it!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-31-12

(Eph 6:12 NKJV)  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We do not wrestle against flesh and blood.

This is a tough thing to grasp sometimes, especially when people are openly coming against us and attacking us. It’s often hard to separate the person from the spirit behind the attack.

People do have a free will and many times they do like to be miserable and vindictive. But we need to know and understand that despite the fact that they might initiate the things that they do to hurt others, there are very often demonic spirits that rise up to escalate what they do and turn it into ferocious attacks on us.

It’s up to us to remember this and to know how to stand against these attacks, rebuking the evil spirits in the name of Jesus. When we’re in the midst of being attacked, it’s easy to focus our anger at the person that we see. But we need to go beyond that and aim our counter-attack at the spirit behind the offense.

We know this isn’t flashy or exciting teaching, but once we understand this fully and get it ingrained into us, it will make it much easier to deal with vindictive people and help us to forgive them more easily.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-12

(1 John 4:1 NKJV)  Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

A few days ago we did a short teaching about religious spirits. We talked about how even demonic spirits can speak words of truth. Over the years we have personally witnessed religious spirits at work in many different situations.

We have seen them tear churches apart from within and lead godly people to do the very things that they spoken out against. And yet these very people who had taught against these demonic powers became victims of them.

Religious spirits hide themselves well, right in plain sight. They will look, sound and act like the spirit of God in so many ways and then they will slowly lead a person on to a path of destruction. And most times, that person won’t know it until it’s too late and they have made choices that can destroy their life and the lives of others.

While this is a subject that is too in depth to cover thoroughly in a short teaching such as this, let us tell you some of the things to be aware of when it comes to discerning some religious spirits.

A spirit of religion will run a path that’s very close to the path of God’s spirit. But it will vary just enough to eventually lead to destruction. Test what you hear and read by comparing it to the Word of God. Does it line up or does it stray, even just a little bit?

Religious spirits will display pride, especially in their accomplishments. They will become arrogant in their thinking. They will boast in their associations with people of social status. Religious spirits will think they are invincible and indestructible… that nobody can stop them.

Let God give you discernment when it comes to the people around you and even those who you receive teaching from. TEST THE SPIRITS! God forewarned us so we would not fall victim to these sly spirits.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-7-12

(Acts 16:16-18 NKJV)  Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. {17} This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” {18} And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

Have you ever heard of a religious spirit? Whether you have or not, please pay close attention to these words.

Religious spirits come to us to deceive us. They look, sound and act like the real thing (the Holy Spirit), but they are not of God. They will speak words that are true in order to convince us that they are from God, but they are evil in their purpose.

In the scriptures above, this woman was inhabited by a religious spirit… a demon. This demon spoke words that were true. He proclaimed that the words Paul was speaking were true and that Paul taught the way to salvation.

Was this true? Absolutely. But why did it annoy Paul to the point where he cast it out of the girl? Because he discerned that this was not the spirit of God, but a spirit of divination and he knew that it had to leave if he told it to do so.

Many of us come into contact with religious spirits on a regular basis but never realize it. They speak to us from various sources. Many of them are even in the church!

This is not meant to freak anyone out or make you paranoid, but it’s high time for the body of Christ to get razor-sharp discernment and understand the realities of the spiritual world.

Much of what we see each day is the result of something spiritual, whether it’s God’s spirit or a demonic spirit. It’s up to us to distinguish between the two.

If a religious spirit was to come before us right now, would we be able to discern it correctly? Just some food for thought!

We wish each and every one of you a very happy resurrection day!
