  • Bible Verse of The Day – 11-24-25

Daniel 2:21 (LSB) 21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding.

During the last 15 years of our lives, we have seen a slew of changes. Some were expected. Most were not.

Some were major. Others were subtle and not as significant.

Still yet, some were impactful in ways that could be deemed adverse or negative in nature. Some could be viewed as advantageous.

Some of these events brought about changes in our lives that caused hardship of varying levels.

These ranged from gut-wrenching to only slightly noticeable.

Some brought financial devastation. Others brought seasons of plenty.

But each one has taught us much. And we’d like to share that with you, with the possibility and hope that you might also learn from what we have walked through.

We have learned that no matter what we were facing, God was always there with us. He was the one constant that never failed.

And one of the most important lessons was to learn to let go of fading seasons; not to try to hold on to what was passing, instead of embracing that which was forthcoming.

Holding on to things that are passing only brings more hardship, and more emotional trauma.

And sometimes the damage wrought by trying desperately to cling to that which was passing was enormous and difficult to overcome.

So, with all that we have learned from our own changing seasons, we say to you today, let go of the old season.

That foot that is trying so hard to stay anchored in the old? Move it!

Pick it up and step forward into what God is ushering in.

Loosen the grip on the past. What has been will not be again. It was meant for a time… a fleeting season that we were meant to learn from.

Now we must look ahead. Walk or run with purpose toward what God is birthing and unfolding.

And trust Him with every fiber of your being, that He will show you what to do, how to do it, and the intensity with which to carry it out.

Obey Him with all your heart.

And watch what God does 🙏

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-24

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

We must learn to trust God in many areas of our lives, especially when He brings change.

Change is often met with resistance. It is a natural reaction to be hesitant when change comes.

But what if we embraced it, even though we are scared and afraid of the unknown?

We would find that the change we once feared is what we needed to help us grow.

Can we remember a time when we had to stop the way we were doing something and learn something completely different? Something we never thought we would be doing?

And where did it take us?

If we follow the change through, and give it some time, we will forget about the fear and uncomfortable part of it and begin to see the results from allowing change to do its part.

God does not change things up on us to make us look silly, or to cause us to fret, or to bring insecurity. He brings change for one reason; that we may grow and benefit!

And if we trust Him, embracing His change rather than talking ourselves out of it, we will grow in our walk with Him and He will continue to direct our path. Amen.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-24 – When Seasons Change

    Greetings.

Jesus is alive and the Father is still on His throne!

We have a new video for you today that we think will offer a little bit of help to everyone.

We speak frequently about changing seasons in our lives because it is a topic that we all deal with.

In today’s new video, When Seasons Change, we teach about recognizing changing seasons and learning how to handle each change that comes our way and transition from one season to another.

No two seasons are the same. And the transition from an old season to the new one is always different.

We hope this video will help each of you in some way.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 10-16-23

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

It is mid-September as I write this. We woke this morning to cooler, drier air and a breeze coming from the north, bringing crisp, refreshing temperatures with it.

The ushering in of the autumn season has begun. Gradually, we will transition from Summer to Fall.

This transition reminds me of the changes that come with the new seasons in our lives.

I have come to understand over the years that life is, in fact, nothing more than an ongoing series of changes and transitions that start the day we are born and end the day we breathe our last breath and enter into our eternal heavenly home.

Some of the transitions from one season to another come slowly, gently, drawing almost no attention on our part. They just gradually happen; no drama or fanfare.

Other seasons come in with a bang. They demand our attention and require significant effort on our part to adjust.

Many times, these types of seasons bring with them drastic changes that include trauma and trials we must face and navigate.

They disrupt our sense of normalcy and can make us feel like the rug has been yanked from under our feet with no advance warning. We might even feel like we have been caught up in a whirlwind that won’t stop spinning.

During these times of drastic change and upheaval it can be easy to lose our footing and become fearful or doubtful.

And if we are not careful, our faith in God can take a hit.

Jesus told us about these things when He warned us that in this world trials and tribulations would come. But He also told us that we should not fear because He has overcome the world.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus also taught us that there is only one Foundation upon which we should build our house. That foundation is God Himself. Jesus taught that He is the rock, and nothing should be built that is not built upon this Rock.

Anything built upon the Rock will withstand the storms and remain standing.

Anything, however, that is built upon sand, instead of the Rock, will fall as soon as the wind and waves beat against it, crashing into the sea and being swept away.

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

So, as we face the changing seasons of our lives, and the storms that these changes can sometimes bring, let us be sure to have built our house upon the Rock that is Christ.

He will never fail us. Amen

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 8-27-23 – New Beginnings

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in Jesus’ name!

There is an old saying that goes something like this; The only true constant in life is change”.

This is true, even as Ecclesiastes tells us that to everything there is a season. Seasons come and go. And us learning to flow with those changes is an important part of our walk with God.

Our newest video, “New Beginnings”, addresses this very thing, as we teach about the times in our lives when we face changing seasons and new situations that we need to adjust to.

There is something in this video for everyone, so we hope you will take a few minutes to watch it.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 4-8-22

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

    Seasons.

Our lives are made of them. We move from one season to another, even if we aren’t aware of it.

The more aware we are of this Biblical principle, the more easily we can navigate the various seasons.

On the other hand, though, if we are not aware of this, we will have great difficulties traversing from season to season.

Seasons can be good, or they can be bad. Some are a mix of both. This is how life works.

One of the biggest problems we run into is when we try hard to hang onto a particular season because we enjoyed it so much. This can cause some pretty bad repercussions for us if we do this.

When this happens, we tend to have one foot in the new season, while trying our hardest to keep the other foot in the season that’s passing. This can be very painful, end even disastrous if we don’t recognize it quickly enough and let go of what we were trying to hold onto.

The changing of seasons may not always be easily recognizable. But as we grow closer to God and we learn to discern the seasons, we will begin to see the changes more easily, saving ourselves a lot of difficulty and heartbreak.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-21

John 14:27 (NKJV) 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Don’t get stuck on a certain part of your journey and lose out on the rest of what God may have for us.

This is a trick of the enemy.

He will try to get us to keep our eyes on the one thing that meant a lot to us, long after the season for it has ended.

He does this so that we will miss out on what God has for us in the future.

How many of us are in a state of “I’m not so sure about what is going to happen now that things are different”?

We keep thinking about how it was, better than ever before, and now we have nothing to look forward to.

We just can’t seem to get over the fact that our situation has changed. And now we won’t let ourselves move forward.

I know exactly how that feels.

I remember one year in particular. Both my daughters had gotten married and had moved out.

I remember looking at their empty rooms and saying, “Wow! Where did the time go?”.

They were gone, and their rooms were empty.

I cried, of course, and I even moped a bit.

I didn’t really know what to do next because my life revolved around caring for them, nurturing, guiding and holding them.

In the blink of an eye it was all gone, and I just didn’t quite know what to do with myself.

The house was way too quiet and it felt very empty. I felt alone. I felt like a part of me was empty and lost. And I was a bit confused about this new life of mine.

As time went by, I settled down and began to accept what had taken place.

I knew if I kept looking back, longing for the way things used to be, I would remain in this sad state. I had to let go of what was and move on to what is.

You may be scared today. Maybe you don’t even know how to move on.

All I could do during that time was say, “OK, I’m here. Now what, Lord?”.

Rest in Him. Let His peace carry you through it.

I’ve learned to love today and where I’m at.

My husband and I live out our lives to the fullest. We absolutely love doing things together.

There is hope for the hopeless. Let Him unfold it. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Every hair on our head is numbered.

Luke 12:7 (NKJV) 7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 8-26-20

Genesis 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

We recently wrote a devotional that spoke about the current events, and how important it is that we not get stuck looking back at the way things were.

In response to that devotional, we had a few people email us with questions, looking for clarification as to what we were referring to, or exactly what we meant.

We responded to the emails, but wanted to write a bit more today, to bring further clarity and understanding.

As we’ve also written about a lot in the past, it’s important that we not get stuck always looking back at past events, longing to go back to the way things were. It’s not what God intends for us.

As I like to say quite often, God created us with eyes in the front of our heads so we can look forward, not back.

Seasons change. In fact, change is the only real constant in life. Life is not static, even though we might sometimes think we would like it to be that way.

With changing seasons comes changes in our situations. Some of those changes are very big. They can send us reeling if we are not firmly grounded in God.

Even if we have a great walk with God, they can still knock the wind out of us sometimes.

This is why Jesus taught that it is important to learn to discern the spiritual seasons, not just the natural seasons.

Luke 12:56 (NKJV) 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Knowing what’s happening, and what’s on the horizon, so to speak, will help keep us from being caught off guard and will help us spot our enemy when he is planning and strategizing.

And, just as importantly, when our walk with God is strong, we won’t spend our lives looking back over our shoulders, wishing we could go back to what was familiar and comfortable.

This is not a slam toward those who like to reminisce. Not at all. Having pleasant memories to enjoy is good. It means that we treasure what we have had in the past.

The key, though, is not to long to go back there, being ungrateful or unthankful for what God is doing right here, right now.

The Israelites were terribly guilty of this, as God led them through the wilderness toward the new land that He had promised them.

Despite the fact that He literally sheltered them from the hot sun by day with a cloud, lit the night up with fire, fed them and provided for their every need, they whined and cried that they just wanted to go back to Egypt. What a serious slap in God’s face that was.

This is why it’s critical that we press in to Him, listen for His heart and His spirit, to know what he is saying right now, in this season of change.

I know this has been a bit lengthy, but it is necessary in order to make sure that we understand the importance of moving with God, looking to Him for every answer that we need, and then stepping forward with Him as He leads us.

And as we do so, we need not ever look back. Ever.

  • Bible Verse of The Day – 2-24-20

Daniel 2:21 (NKJV) 21 And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.

Over the last 20 years or so, God has taught us a lot about the seasons in our lives.

He has taught us that life is made up of various seasons. Each season is different. Sometimes only slightly different. Other times they are vastly different.

Seasons come and they go and God wants us to learn to flow with those seasons.

Some seasons are wonderful and full of joy. Others are a little tougher to take. But God is faithful in all of them.

Many of us struggle to let go of the joyful seasons. And that’s understandable, due to human nature enjoying comfort.

Seasons that aren’t so joyful can teach us a lot, both about ourselves and about who we are in Christ.

And they can teach us a lot about where our trust lies.

As we change from one season to the next, it’s good to take notice of how willing we are to step out of the old season and into the new one, because this will also show us how much we trust God to lead us.

The cool thing about Him is that He knows us better than we know ourselves, and He will keep prompting us to move forward with Him, even when we are trying to keep one foot in the old and slowly move one into the new.

There will come a time, though, when we absolutely have to pick up that straggling foot and move it forward. Refusing to do so could put us in danger of missing God’s timing completely. And that is never a good thing.

This can apply to just about any area of our lives. It’s not limited solely to “church things” or “things of God”. It’s important that we understand that fact, since we can tend to get tunnel vision sometimes.

We need to stay alert, learn to discern the seasons, and trust God enough to move with the changing seasons, instead of fighting against them.
