Bible Verse of The Day – 1-31-22

Genesis 12:1 (NKJV) 1 Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

Go to a land that I will show you.

These are the only words that God offered Abram (Abraham) when He told him to leave his family and his father.

Abraham wasn’t given the benefit of even knowing where he was headed. He had to trust God 100% as he packed his belongings and left.

This is one of the best examples in the entirety of God’s word when it comes to trusting God solely based on His word.

It’s critical that we understand the weight of what God told Abraham, particularly the words, “a land that I will show you”.

Can we truly understand the faith that it took for Abraham to obey God in this?

Let’s put ourselves in Abraham’s shoes and see if we can even begin to figure out how we might respond to this kind of command from God.

Do we think that we would just jump right up and head out immediately, with no thought to what it really means for our lives? Or would we hesitate, understanding the depth of it all, understanding that we don’t even know where it is that we’re headed to?

It’s pretty safe to say that most of us would fall into the latter category, flinching terribly at what we’re being told to do.

This is a great litmus test for our faith in God. It’s a good gauge that can show us the true level of trust we have in Him, the God who created us and everything we see around us.

Let’s sincerely endeavor to press firmly in to Him, learning more of Him, so our faith and trust reach new levels, allowing us to make decisions and choices of great depth without anguishing greatly over them in the process.

None of us will ever get this perfect. But the time we spend in His word, and time spent communing with Him will help us greatly mature in these areas.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-21

2 Samuel 5:22-25 (NKJV) 22 Then the Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the Valley of Rephaim. 23 Therefore David inquired of the Lord, and He said, “You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. 24 And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” 25 And David did so, as the Lord commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.

David asked God for counsel, and He gave Him specific instructions in order to do what needed to be done.

The question today is, do we inquire or ask the Lord God before we make decisions? Do we give Him a chance to guide our steps?

Or do we make all of our own choices and decisions and then wonder why we don’t see victory, or don’t have any plan to push back what is attacking us or our loved ones.

I was sitting in the dentist chair recently. I had been needing a root canal for some time. I had actually waited too long and I had developed an infection in that tooth.

I went to the dentist and he told me, “it’s time to do it now or it will get worse, or you may end up losing the tooth completely.

I have had nothing but trouble over the years when it comes to root canals. They were never successful for me.

So, I immediately thought, “why don’t we save all the trouble, and just pull it?”. That was an option, after all.

The dentist told me it was completely up to me. However, he did strongly suggest to let him do the root canal. Or, if I wasn’t comfortable with him doing it, he would refer me to a specialist.

As he gave me time to decide, I asked God. “What do I do?”.

I heard very loud and clearly, “root canal”.

I knew it wasn’t me, because I despise the thought of root canals. And, to be honest, I almost wanted to pretend I didn’t hear it.

But I told the doctor when he asked again, “we need to go with the root canal, and there is no need for a specialist. You can do it”. I knew in my heart that was the plan God had shown me.

Today as I sit here, the root canal has been done. Thank God all went well, no pain whatsoever, from start to finish. It was a success!!

Thank you to those who have been praying for me without even knowing why.

God truly heard your prayers and brought me through with not even a pinch of pain.

Some are waiting on an answer today. You need direction.

Don’t give up. Ask and keep seeking God until you get His answer. And then when you do, go for it!!

He will direct us if we inquire.

Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) 9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-31-20

Joshua 9:14 (NKJV) 14 Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions; but they did not ask counsel of the Lord.

Israel had been on a massive conquest. And by God’s leading and direction, they had defeated many enemies, taking their land and expanding the Israelite territory.

Every time they would seek God’s counsel and followed His leading, they were victorious in their battles.

Word of their victories and of the fierceness of their God had spread throughout the land, causing other nations to fear Israel greatly.

The nation of Gibeon was one of those that was in great fear. So, they devised a plan to deceive Israel and convince them to enter into a treaty to prevent being conquered and wiped out.

As the envoys of Gibeon spoke with Joshua, they lied and said that they had traveled from a distant land, taking so long that their food had spoiled and their clothing had worn out during the lengthy journey. In reality, they traveled only a short distance and had purposely brought moldy bread and worn out clothing as part of their ploy.

Joshua and the others examined their food and their possessions and saw the condition. And without consulting God, they entered into a covenant with them, sparing Gibeon from being attacked.

In short, they were deceived. They took the bait and fell for the lies.

Why? Because they failed to seek God and get His input. And now, because they had given their word to the people of Gibeon, their hands were tied.

It’s important that we don’t follow in the footsteps of Israel and do the same thing. We need to get God’s counsel on every decision we make; especially very big decisions that have the potential to have a major impact on our lives.

Sometimes things aren’t what they look like on the surface.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-8-19

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Do we pout when God asks us to do something or go somewhere, and it’s not what we wanted to do or where we wanted to go?

Pouting with God does not make Him change His plans. Sorry. He will just find someone else that will be willing to do it.

But, remember, He would have preferred the person He asked first to do it, for many reasons.

One reason may be that He equipped and prepared them already for the task, and that took time. Now, asking someone else may cause a delay.

Another reason may be that the person that He has to ask now is being pulled from their post in order to do someone else’s task.

If God is tugging on our heart to come and take a step of faith in a direction we have never gone before, we shouldn’t walk away, pout, or try to fit it into our plans and our preferences. Just take the step into the unknown and see what amazing things He will pull out of it all!

Psalm 100:3 (NKJV) 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Be honored to serve Him in such a way, and let fulfillment and joy come from it all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-19

Matthew 14:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

For some of us, this is going to be a season of learning to come when Jesus says, “come”.

For Peter, it was stepping out onto the water. For us, it may be something else.

For some, it may just be learning to say no at times, and not letting guilt have its way because of it.

For others, it may be stepping out and doing something completely different, something not in our routine or scheduled day.

Some of us have had some things drilled into us for a very long time, and God may be telling us that those things that were drilled into us go against His word and are not accurate. The step we must take is in letting those things go and learning the right way of doing things.

Whatever He is calling us to step out into, we need to “come”. Hesitating, pondering and going over and over it in our minds about it will cause us to miss out on some wonderful “walking on the water” opportunities.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV) 19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land…

Amen.

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of our wonderful Savior!

God has many things that He wants us to do in our lifetime. Some of those things are small, while others are not so small.

Whatever the size, God will always give us instructions to follow as to how He wants us to do something. Whether we follow those instructions or not is up to us.

This is the topic of our latest video.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-28-18

John 8:38 (NKJV) 38 I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

Who is our Daddy?

There are two fathers; Jehovah God, full of Truth, and the devil, father of lies.

John 8:44 (NKJV) 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

Jesus was speaking to the Jews, His people, those who should have known Him. But they just wouldn’t accept Him. Instead, they wanted to kill Him.

How do we know who we serve?

We pay attention to the things we do; our actions will say a lot. Now, this doesn’t mean that we will be perfect at doing things, even as Believers of Christ. We are going to miss it at times. But, we want to pay attention to the things that we consistently act out and we think are OK.

For instance, if we are learning and growing as a follower of Christ, we will try to be honest in what we do. We will be kind to people, even if they are mean or bitter toward us. We will be a forgiving person. Our intent will always be good and right, even though we may sometimes miss it.

Maybe we are a nasty, angry and spiteful person. Maybe we’re bitter and always wanting things our way, causing contention, and not forgiving others. Well, we need to look at our actions and see if God is really working in us. Are we allowing Him to bring change in our heart? Or are we just playing the role? Roles don’t fly with God.

His Spirit in us will lead us to do good things and convict us into repentance when we do make mistakes. The devil will lead us to do bad things and we will feel no conviction from it. No remorse.

If our flesh does not let God change our heart, our flesh will line up with the devil and he will have more control over us. We will see this by our actions. And those wicked things we ponder on in our minds, we will act out.

Pay attention to the details in ourselves. Those little actions here and there all add up to make the big picture. We can really see who we are when we watch ourselves throughout the day.

How we respond to others and how we act in our own homes, behind closed doors, says it all.

Who are we letting have control over us?

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Jesus is knocking. It’s up to us to open the door and let Him dine with us today. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-21-18

Luke 11:28 (NKJV) 28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”

“Keep it”. Those two words are crucial.

“Keeping it” is the key to having a blessed walk with God.

Those who hear God, and keep what He says dear to them, will not stand still. They will always be growing, learning and moving forward. They will take action as God directs them through His word.

They will mature, they will build, they will take what He says and apply it to every aspect of their life. And they will be blessed!

When God speaks to us through His word, one way or another there is forward motion.

He will speak to our everyday situations. Hear what God is saying through His word today and keep it dear to us. Move forward in it and be blessed!

He is a GOOD God and faithful to deliver on His promises.

2 Timothy 4:18 (NKJV) 18 And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-14-18

John 10:27 (NKJV) 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

We hear God’s voice and we follow Him.

Where do we need to follow Him to today? Is He speaking to our hearts and asking us to change up some things? Maybe our language or our negative thoughts at times? Is He asking us to give up some things, like maybe television, certain things on the internet, or frivolous spending?

Is He asking us to step out in areas where we need to do something that will make a difference in our situation, for instance maybe tithing and the giving of our firstfruits to Him?

When God prompts us to do something, He doesn’t tell us to just take our time and ponder on it. And He doesn’t ask us to give Him a time frame as to when we will get around to it or fit it into our schedule.

There are no questions asked, and no negotiating. It is what it is and the terms are how God wants them to be. We, His sheep, are to hear it and to follow.

He will be sure to let us know when we need to make a change or a move, when we need to pull back, and when we need to be strong and press in. Don’t get too caught up in the details. Just follow what He puts in front of us.

Psalm 121:8 (NKJV) 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-3-18

Romans 8:25 (NKJV) 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Start this new year off by asking God for vision, to see the things that need to be changed in our lives, our homes, our finances, our work, or our ministry.

Lay it all out before Him, and then wait on Him.

God knows the things that need to be fixed, and He knows how to fix them. He knows what it will take and what will turn it around and make it work.

Write down the things He puts on our hearts and ask Him how to do it. Ask Him for the plan and the wisdom to do it. Let Him direct our steps.

God will place His vision within us and yes, it is fun and very exciting at times.

But we can’t think that once we have the vision that we can just pick up the ball and run with it on our own. That’s not how it works, and people that do this end up in a mess or in great failure.

Let Him work out the details and give us His strategy and timing. It may not come all at once, but in little pieces. Wait for it, moving one step at a time, and enjoy every moment of it.

God is precious, and the things He does for His children, He takes to heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-4-17

Exodus 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Sometimes God will put something before us that He wants us to do, but we feel completely inadequate to do it.

This was the case with Moses. God had chosen him and showed him everything that He wanted Moses to do. He even assured Him that He would give Moses the words to speak.

But, despite all of God’s assurances, Moses asked God to find someone else for the job.

Do we ever find ourselves in this same situation? Has God ever asked us to do something, but we adamantly insist that He find someone else for the job?

Unfortunately, this happens more often than most of us want to admit. We pray and pray and ask God to use us. And then when He wants to, we shrink back and ask Him to find someone else.

Moses pleaded with God, reminding God that he wasn’t good with words and that his words got tangled up when he tried to speak.

But I like what God said to Moses!

Exodus 4:11 (NLT) 11 Then the Lord asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord?

This is a good reminder for all of us that if God asks us to do something, He will also equip us for that thing He has asked us to do!

He will never give us an assignment without equipping us. Through His word and prayer, we can learn of Him and grow close enough to Him to gain insight and understanding in His ways. In this, we will be equipped to handle those things that come our way, even when we might not think we’re prepared for them.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

So, if God has placed something in front of you that He wants you to do, don’t panic. Spend time in His word daily. Learn to hear His voice. And as He calls us, so will He also equip us.
