Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-21

Proverbs 1:20-22 (NKJV) 20 Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. 21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: 22 “How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, And fools hate knowledge.

God wants us to be wise. His word teaches us this over and over again, from Genesis to Revelation.

So many people believe wisdom is hard to find or obtain. This may seem to be true if we believe that wisdom can only be obtained by our own experiences over the course of many, many years.

The truth, however, is that God gives us many ways of becoming wise.

Learning from our own experiences is only one way. And to be honest, this is probably the hardest way to gain wisdom because it means we have to go through a lot of tough things before we start to have the insights and understanding that come with being wise.

So, what’s the best way to become wise?

Well, there is more than just a single way.

We can glean a lot of wisdom from watching and listening to others who offer to share their insights with us.

We can learn by observing others who have understanding that we may lack.

We can pray and seek wisdom from the Holy Spirit, Who will lead us in all things.

And we can spend time gleaning wisdom from the word of God.

His word is packed with wisdom from centuries of people who walked His path and who penned what the Holy Spirit inspired them to write.

God’s wisdom is the best and most pure because it is not contaminated by man.

Therefore, get wisdom.

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-20

1 Kings 3:9 (NKJV) 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

A servant’s heart needs to be an understanding heart.

To have an understanding heart we have to be willing to listen to God and to others. We have to listen a lot and not be selective, but pay attention to what is being said.

If we only listen to those things that tickle our ears or sound pretty, then we really aren’t going to get much out of it.

If we only listen to those people that agree with us on everything, then we will never learn or be challenged to research or dig in and find the truth in certain subjects.

We should be able to listen to people, whether we agree with them or not.

It doesn’t mean we automatically take what they are saying as truth. But we listen and discern. This will help us to get understanding and see where they are coming from.

We’ve got to have patience and listen if we want our understanding to be at its best.

If we want to help others or get help for ourselves, we have to be willing to listen. We can’t be the one that likes to run away when we hear anything other than what we want to hear.

We are not runners. We stand on the truth, and we help others at times to stand too.

Even though there will be many times in our lives when we don’t agree with people, we should, as children of God, be able to have a civilized conversation with them.

We shouldn’t be rude, arrogant, impatient or lacking compassion.

We should, in fact, be the opposite, showing sincerity of heart and wanting to understand.

That doesn’t mean we can’t stand up for ourselves at times if we don’t agree with what we are hearing.

It just means that we need to hear them out and let the Holy Spirit lead us, so we can be as wise as a serpent and gentle as a dove.

Matthew 10:16 (NKJV) 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-19-20

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

We are living in a time where we absolutely need to have knowledge and understanding.

We need to be incredibly discerning, so as not to be fooled by so many of the things that we hear and see. This includes the things we see in the world, and the things we see and hear within the church.

The world we live in has become a very dangerous place. We are being challenged every day when it comes to our walk with God and the way we see and perceive what is going on around us.

Without knowledge, understanding and discernment, we will be easily deceived and persuaded by wolves in sheep’s clothing, and possibly even by some who make no effort whatsoever to disguise themselves or their schemes.

So, wisdom is required as we learn to discern what we’re seeing and hearing, that we don’t become victims of the wolves in our midst.

Matthew 10:16 (NKJV) 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

We can’t let ourselves get distracted by all the events that constantly vie for our attention. Our focus needs to be solely on God and what His spirit is showing us and telling us during these times.

It can be difficult to understand it all. And this is why it’s so important that we stay close to Him, feasting on (devouring) His word each day and spending time communing and conversing with Him.

Church, this is not a dress rehearsal. It is not a trial run. We live in a real world, with real demons, deceitfulness, deviousness, wickedness and divisiveness.

The goal of this message is not to cause fear, but to prick the hearts of everyone who reads it, causing an awakening to come; to shake us out of our slumber and stir our hearts into action.

Press in to Him. Listen for His voice. And heed what He tells us.

He is our fortress, our rock, to Whom we shall cling and be safe.

Psalm 18:2 (NKJV) 2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-20

Luke 24:45 (NKJV) 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

Jesus opened the understanding of the disciples because there were some things they didn’t get.

Don’t ever try to make something out of the scriptures if we don’t get exactly what they are saying. Let God open our understanding so that we too can comprehend what He is saying to us through them.

His word is His word. Be careful to listen, to follow, and very careful not add to it.

Deuteronomy 12:32 (NKJV) 32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

Never should we add to scripture or take away from it. That will get us in trouble, and it won’t help anyone by doing such a thing.

It’s like the blind leading the blind.

This happens when people try to tickle the ears of the listeners, or they water down what the gospel is really saying.

This is not good, and we must watch out for such teachers, pastors, priests, etc.

The word of God is there to bring correction and help us to grow. It will not coddle us, and sometimes it will make us feel very uncomfortable.

That’s OK. We need to be uncomfortable sometimes. That is what gets us moving.

The word of God is for inspiration, correction and for instruction in righteousness. Let God open our understanding that we may comprehend it all.

2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-19-19 – Lean Not on Your Own Understanding

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus.

Lean not on your own understanding is something that God’s word teaches us. It’s also the title of our latest video.

In today’s video we discuss what it means to learn how not to lean on our own understanding, but to get God’s understanding, and lean on that instead.

This is a topic that we touch base on frequently in our written devotionals, so we decided to use it as the basis for today’s video also.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it and let God speak to you through it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-13-18

3 John 1:2 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

I pray that you may prosper in all things.

These are the words of God, spoken and penned through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, by the apostle John.

These are God’s words to us; His desires for our lives. Prospering in all things, and good health.

This isn’t something little. This is huge. In these few little words, God tells us very plainly what His desire is for our lives. This is what He wants for us. This is the direction He wants our lives to take.

Whether it happens or not is largely dependent on us. And that right there is where so many of us stumble and fall. We want what God wants for us. We want to prosper in all things and be in good health. But we drop the ball when it comes to walking it out.

Now, before anyone gets hurt by that, let me explain. Some of us drop the ball because we just plain don’t want to do what it takes. We look at what’s required and decide that it’s just more than we are willing to take on.

But others might not understand how to walk it out. That is the key that unlocks all of this: understanding.

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Without understanding, we can never move forward. We can never get beyond where we are right now, at this moment in time. So we question God and ask Him why. And, if we’re diligent, and we truly want to know, we will listen intently for His answer.

It’s in the listening and the hearing that we get understanding. It’s in the time spent diligently seeking Him that we start to understand what God is speaking to us.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Diligence pays off in two ways. First, it helps us to gain understanding of things that we were once ignorant about or blind to. Second, it shows God that we’re taking Him seriously and putting forth the effort that’s needed to learn and grow.

Nothing is impossible to overcome if we truly want change, and if we make a sincere, prolonged effort to bring about the change we want to see. And, as God’s children, we have the best possible Person cheering for us and encouraging us to take that next step.

What’s even better is that He is there waiting for us at the finish line, calling us forward, looking us right in the eye and saying, “well done my good and faithful servant”.

Get understanding. Prosper in all things and be in good health.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-18-17

2 Chronicles 1:11-12  (NKJV) 11 Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— 12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”

Solomon asked for wisdom and knowledge. Nothing else. But the scripture above shows why he also became a prosperous man. Prosperity is not just found in obtaining large amounts of money and material wealth.

Prosperity comes through God’s wisdom. And the only way to walk prosperously is to get God’s wisdom on a daily basis and for every situation.

It is the understanding, knowledge and wisdom of God that fixes a problem for good. It is in the wisdom of how to work things out that brings us the satisfaction, the completion, and the victory that we need as a person.

Prosperity comes when we get understanding and wisdom and we act accordingly.

Peter said, silver and gold I don’t have, but he offered to the man what God showed him he needed. In this situation that man needed the healing of his legs.

Acts 3:6 (NKJV) 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”

Are we laying there lame today, waiting for the wrong thing?

This is why we feel we don’t get anywhere. We think we need gold, silver, or money and that will take care of all our problems and the situation we are facing.

Wisdom and understanding in this situation showed Peter that it was healing for the man’s legs that was really needed. What good would gold and silver be to a man that couldn’t walk, couldn’t work, couldn’t do much?

With his legs, he could care for himself the rest of his life.

Understanding our situation, and what we need to do to take care of it, will bring us into a constant, steadfast, prosperous life.

We have to take the wisdom of the Lord that He gives us, for every problem we run into, and handle it accordingly.

Get up, take action and walk with the wisdom of the Lord.

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-29-16

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

It’s important that we get understanding, or we could end up moving in the wrong thing, at the wrong time.

The Jews didn’t understand what Christ was doing on the cross. They were saying things like “why can’t God deliver Him now?”.

Matthew 27:43 (NKJV) 43 He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”

They needed God’s understanding. Without it, they had no clue as to what was really happening.

Christ died for us on that cross. In that moment of His death, He made salvation possible for the world!!

His death brought freedom and Salvation to all who will put their faith in Him. He was the perfect, living sacrifice. Holy in all His ways! He had to die to save us.

If God had come at that time and delivered Him from the cross, we’d all end up in hell today. His death on the cross made a way for each one of us to be free.

But Christ did not stay dead. That is the miracle. On the 3rd day, God raised Him up, and He is ALIVE! Amen.

God will give us understanding. We all need it, because His way of doing things is going to be different than the natural way of doing things.

But with His understanding, it helps us to know why things are done the way they are; Why things happen the way they do.

There will be times we will not understand some things. But in those things, we must have faith and trust God with them.
