Bible Verse of The Day – 11-1-23

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change;

Please join me today as I share a little story with you.

This story should help you see God in a way that you may not have seen Him before. And I believe that God will use it to help grow your faith and trust in Him.

As many of you may already know, we launched our new podcasts a few weeks ago.

While preparing everything for that, there was a considerable amount of research that had to be done to find a suitable platform upon which the podcasts could be published.

My hope was that we could find a Christian company that would host them, and hopefully do it for a reduced charge for other Christians.

As I was deep into my research, I found one such Christian platform that offered this exact service.

Better yet, their services were free to other Christians.

Great, right? Well, I thought so too. But then I dug deeper.

Before signing up for their service, there was a lengthy agreement that needed to be read and signed. This agreement shared their statement of faith, and that statement contained a small piece stating all users of their platform must also agree with their statement of faith.

As I read through it from top to bottom, I was in full agreement with what it said, until I reached a section near the end that made me stop in my tracks.

It said this:

“Our platform is not open to the dissemination of such distinctive Charismatic and Pentecostalist views as tongues, healing… etc.”

I stopped right there and knew this was not a platform we would be welcome on.

Why? Because we believe the entirety of God’s word.

You see, God does not change.

He has miraculously healed people down through the centuries, and His healing powers are still alive and well today.

I am living, walking, talking proof of this. Nobody will ever silence me about it.

God healed me and delivered me from asthma at the age of 37. His healing power is real. Amen.

It was disconcerting and disheartening to see that followers of Christ would deny the power of God, and then deny the opportunity for other believers to propagate the truth of who God is via their platform.

But I know this is reality.

Some are not comfortable with things they may not understand. So, instead of gaining understanding, the thing they fail to understand is simply pushed aside, labeled as no longer active or valid in God’s kingdom.

This is akin to saying that the Holy Spirit was only here and active for a season, and then He vacated the premises to go into hiding somewhere while we wait for the return of Jesus.

In light of the fact that the Holy Spirit was here and active in the creation of everything, He was active throughout the centuries leading up to the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and visibly active during the early days of the church, why would He not still be active today?

That line of thought is not at all consistent with who God is; our Rock and Redeemer by Whom all things came into being. The Great I AM. Yahweh. Elohim.

He does not change. It is not in His nature to do so.

Let us take Him at His word in its entirety, including those things that we may not fully understand.

As we do this, we will see Him move more powerfully in our lives and give us deeper understanding through the faith that we allow Him to plant in us, and then water, and grow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-22

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

In a world full of uncertainties, God’s unchanging nature is something we can hold fast to.

This verse is pretty interesting if we look closely at it, so let’s dig in!

Israel was a rebellious nation.

No matter what God did for them, how often He forgave them, or how many times He saved them from harm or destruction, they continued to rebel.

And they actually accused God of leaving them, when it was them who had abandoned God, over and over again.

He had every right to utterly destroy them. But He didn’t.

Why?

Because He had promised not to do so. He had promised to be their God and watch over them.

Because of His unchanging nature, He kept that promise. And because of that, He would not destroy them, even though they likely deserved it.

This is great for us to understand for two reasons.

One, it shows that God is trustworthy. He will never fail us.

Two, it shows that even when we rebel, if we sincerely repent, He will stand by us and do right by us.

And while He’s waiting for us to see our own sins and repent, He will wait patiently.

This is good news for us today, as we watch the world wallow in horrible amounts of horrific sin and evil.

Be assured that God will not abandon us. He will wait, wooing us to Himself, providing us with a way out of our rebellious ways.

Let us obey Him and do what He is asking us to do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-16-17

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

What are we facing right now?

What is it that is trying to get us to waver in our faith?

What is trying to get us to doubt God?

It doesn’t really matter who or what we’re up against right now. They do not hold our future in their hands.

There is only One who does that. And He does not change, lie or go back on a promise.

Rise up in the name of Jesus! Stand strong in His name and by His spirit, and hold fast to His word. For He is faithful and will bring you through whatever you’re facing right now.

Victory is ours, in Jesus’ name.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-17

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…

Life and everything about it is always changing. Things don’t stay the same for very long.

It doesn’t matter if it’s family situations, jobs, politics, finances, or anything else that affects our lives. It all changes at some point, and will continue to do so as long as we live.

Sometimes those changes are minor and we barely notice them. Other times the changes can be drastic, and they can really hit us hard. Sometimes they might make us feel like we’re about to get knocked off our feet.

But we want to encourage you and reassure you today that no matter what comes our way, no matter how unstable life might make us feel sometimes, there is one Constant that will never change, ever.

God never changes. He said so Himself. He is the Rock that will never fail or falter, no matter how bad things might look.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So how do we have this stability? How do we feel secure in the midst of an ever-changing world?

Jesus summed it up quite nicely when He told us to not only hear His sayings, but to do them!

And when we do that, we are building our houses (our lives) upon the rock.

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Bible verse of The Day – 12-9-15

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It seems that the world has been turned upside down in the last few years.

Not everyone agrees on exactly what the cause might be, but everyone can agree that the world is a different place than it was even just 10 – 15 years ago.

Seeing everything that’s happening with terrorism, civil unrest in so many countries and economic upheaval across the globe can cause us to live in fear, if we’re not careful.

But as we press in and draw near to God, we can rest assured that no matter what happens, nothing can pull us away from God and His love for us.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…

So if fear tries to grip you, or if you begin to doubt that God is still in control, remember that He never changes, and He will never leave us or forsake us.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Trust Him.
