Bible Verse of The Day – 9-24-22

John 14:14 (NKJV) 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Lining our hearts up with God’s will for our lives will cause us to ask for the right things.

In order to do that, we also need to know Who God is and what He wants to do through us and for us.

When we pray, lay our request before Him. And then thank Him even before we see any results.

Thank Him because of His Faithfulness! And be confident that He will do what is good and right for that situation.

Ask Him for the things we need, but don’t just stop there. Remember others and their struggles. Pray for their needs as well.

Remember our country, our pastors, our family and our employment. Remember our place of education for ourselves or our children. And don’t forget those who God has brought into our lives; our friends.

It’s the people and things that God has blessed us with we should take very seriously and pray for.

Jesus took the time to pray for His disciples. He was focused in His prayer on those the Father had put in His life.

John 17:9 (NKJV) 9 “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.

As we pay attention to the Holy Spirit during our prayer time, He will guide us in our prayers, and He may impress someone or something on our hearts that we are not aware of.

As believers, through diligent prayer, we can do much. And Jesus is ready to answer!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-14-20

Exodus 17:11 (NKJV) 11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.

It’s very important for us to recognize that when Moses held his hand up, Israel would prevail! But when his hand was down, they would lose ground.

During the battle, Moses’ hand became heavy, and he was no longer able to hold it up. That right there, my friend, is when you need good loyal people by your side. And God will bring the right ones at the right time!

Exodus 17:12 (NKJV) 12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Aaron and Hur knew what to do to help. They kicked right in and did their part. Maybe that was all they needed to do for Moses, but it was so very important. They were there for him to help Israel win the battle.

We want to share how much you all have helped us at times. You are the Aaron and Hur in this story, but in another time frame, holding up our hands, so we can win a battle.

There have been times when we were tired, and you gave us a seat. Our hands have been full and heavy, but your loyalty has been there for us and has helped us to pull through.

God has used you many times to keep us moving forward!

Thank you for helping hold up our hands, and for the battles we have won together.

God is faithful as we continue to hold up our hands to Him! Amen.

We love you all!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-19

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Are we able to do this today? Are we able to let people share the things they are going through with us, without us running and telling everyone about their issues and problems?

We need to understand that when people open up to us, and they tell us about things that they are dealing with, it is not our business to take it anywhere else but to the Lord in prayer.

This is not easy for some people to do. The first thing they want to do is go and tell so and so. How can we learn to keep it safe and only go to God with it?

We have to understand the responsibility of what we are being entrusted with, and the importance of what is taking place.

If God opens the door for us to help someone get through something, it is an honor and privilege to be a servant to the Lord, and to that person who is opening up their heart and confessing.

This is not given to us for gossip material. This is a time to HELP someone. To be a blessing to them. To lift them and their situation up. To watch from a distance, praying for the answer of God to come in and be mighty in their time of need or desperation.

They are trusting us with their innermost secret or dilemma. And we need to be trustworthy, while also being fervent in prayer.

Understanding that this is an honor, and the importance of being silent and keeping it just between them, us and God, is the heart of a righteous man. The efforts and the prayers of this kind of person will avail much and will see the answers, the change and the victory come to pass! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-19

Titus 1:16 (NKJV) 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Many times people will say that they know God, but when we watch what they do and say, it’s like, ”what?”. Where is the heart change that we expected to see?

Now, we should not be judgmental, but rather, patient.

When we do see something wrong in a brother or sister in Christ we should pray about it. If we feel like God is leading us to address them somehow, we need to let Him open the door and guide our words.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NKJV) 8 The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.

If we speak one wrong word, make one accusation or even use the wrong tone, we can ruin what God wants to do in them. So, it’s important that we are patient and careful.

Listen and wait. And if it’s not for us to deal with, keep on walking and praying the way God wants us to pray.

Some things are simply not for us to touch.

People who are struggling in disobedience are not easy people to deal with. So, if God says to leave it alone, we need to leave it alone. He knows what He is talking about.

Leaving the situation alone teaches us to lean more on Him, knowing that He alone can handle it. Amen.

Psalm 72:12 (NKJV) 12 For He will deliver the needy when he cries, The poor also, and him who has no helper.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-18

John 13:34 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Part of living is loving, enjoying and learning from those people God puts around us. We have to be careful not to push them away or ignore those that God brings around us.

Sometimes we may think, “well, some of them are different than we are”. Maybe they are a little quirky, or they have no sense of humor. Maybe they are too serious, or seem like they are always angry, etc.

We are always going to find something we don’t care for about someone, but we need to remember that we have our own issues as well. And just as we have to exercise patience with them, we can be quite sure that they are doing the same regarding us.

We need to have fun with the people that we are connected with. Talk good talk about them. If we see that they are doing something wrong, try to help them. If they don’t receive it, don’t run away from them.

Lift them up in prayer. Exercise that prayer muscle. Keep building it. Our tolerance will grow and we will be able to be used by God in more situations.

There will be times when we feel like we are losing our patience with them. If it gets to this point, it may be time for a break. Pull back. Give the relationship some quiet time. Maybe we are spending too much time together.

There is such a thing as familiarity, and sometimes this can destroy wonderful relationships and the work that God may be trying to do.

Pray for God’s balance in our relationships with the people He puts around us, that the time we spend together will be fruitful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-23-17

Mark 2:17 (NKJV) 17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

My heart aches today for those who struggle with addictions.

We can think, “well, they just need to quit. They just need to stop doing what they are doing. We can’t keep being there for them if they won’t try to help themselves”.

Only God knows what they are going through.

I have seen people with addictions at their worst. And I have seen them at their best. They are two different people, like night and day.

It’s painful to watch someone go through withdrawals and the detox process. And it hurts to see them slip right back into it again after all that pain and struggling they went through to get it right. But we can’t give up on them.

They are addicted. They can not beat this on their own. It literally breaks my heart to see the demonic hold it has on them.

I pray today for those that are struggling, that they will turn to God, repent and ask for His deliverance.

God wants you to know you are not alone, and you should never try to break this addiction on your own. It takes the power and might of the name of Jesus Christ to break its hold. And don’t ever be ashamed to ask for help.

I don’t care how many times we slip up. Keep asking. We all have our things we are dealing with. Sometimes they go quickly and sometimes they take time.

God help us to love and help one another, no matter what our struggle is. Help us to never look down at anyone that is struggling with addictions.

Help us to be there for those who You put in our path; those that are sick and need a physician.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-17

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NKJV) 2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

We can assist God when we pray with His guidance and leading. With a sincere heart, we can come to Him and lift up the needs of others, as well as praying for our own situation.

How do we know what God wants us to pray for? We let His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, guide us. He knows everything. We wait on Him and follow His leading. He will give us the compassion, wisdom, discernment and love that we need to pray and get the answers that are crucial to help in any situation.

We shouldn’t just pray what we think we need to pray. Seek God as to what and how to pray. When we come into agreement with what God wants for our lives, or even for others, there is unity and forward movement.

Prayer is powerful! Make sure that we spend time with God in prayer each day. This will keep us in tune and up to date with what is going on around us and in our own situation.

Learn to love prayer time! Get excited about it. Be that one who stands in the gap. Be that one to intercede and line up with what God wants done here on earth. God answers prayer. Amen.

John 14:14 (NKJV) 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-17

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

God will sometimes lay people on our hearts, to pray for them. Praying for one another is not hard to do and it can be very enjoyable, especially when we begin to see the change that it brings.

What we find hard is the discipline we need to stop what we are doing, put ourselves aside, shut down the thinking process and simply take the time to do it.

I remember not long ago I was visiting someone in the hospital. He could barely talk, walk or eat. He was weak as a kitten and really did not have much time left here.

I happened to be sharing with him about someone else we both knew that was going through a hard time. With all of what little strength he had, he told me that he would be praying for them.

Boy, did that grip me. It touched me and blessed me to hear and see that.

No matter what state we are in, we can pray. Even if it is just “God, help them”. God knows our heart and the sincerity it comes from.

Praying for each other is what will get us all through our situations. It brings change! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-16

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Is there someone that God has laid upon our hearts today to reach out to and give to? Maybe it’s just praying for them. Maybe it’s calling them up and checking on them. Maybe it’s buying them groceries, or sending them a card. There are all kinds of ways of giving.

One day our doorbell rang. We went to answer it and there was someone we knew standing there with a freshly baked, hot pizza. They said to us “we thought you might like this today”.

Oh boy, did we ever! We thanked them and brought it into the house. We sat down and gave God thanks. What a blessing it was. It was delicious!

When God gives us manna, TAKE it! When God gives us an opportunity to bless someone TAKE ii!

That person listened to God and blessed us. They will truly receive in the same measure that they blessed us with.

Are we being givers today? This is one of the questions we don’t like to ask ourselves sometimes because we may not like the answer. But we need to check ourselves.

We can get so caught up in busyness or taking care of ourselves that we miss out on an opportunity to be a blessing to someone.

Today, as we begin our day, we need to tell ourselves that we are going to be a giver. We are going to keep our eyes, ears and heart open to God and let Him lead us in this. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-6-16

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

We all need to be comforted at times, but today we are going to emphasize on men.

They need encouragement! They need gratitude. They need to hear “thank you” once in awhile. Their role as leader, head of the home, bringing in the income and taking care of the family is not an easy one and at times can be stressful, heavy and overbearing.

We may wonder at times why they are not fulfilling their duty as a man. It’s not always because they are neglecting it on purpose, or because they’d rather play or do something else. Sometimes they are just too tired, overwhelmed, overworked, scared and want to run.

Just because they are men it does not mean they don’t have feelings, emotions, and fears. They are human and they need help at times, just like anyone else.

They need our prayers. They need us to check up on them. They need to be asked at times if they’re OK or if they need some help.

Don’t take him for granted. Love, respect and pray for him.

May God guide us women in knowing how to help at times; To know when he is down in the dumps and clamming up, not saying a word because he feels that his role is to be strong all the time.

Men need to know it’s OK to let go and let God lead those around them to bring comfort and edification in times of need.

A prayer for men:

Dear God,

I feel tired today. My heart is weary, my strength is weak and I need you to bring me some comfort and edification. Forgive me for holding out and trying to do it all. I need you. And whatever you have to help me this day, I receive it and thank you for it.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-16

1 Corinthians 3:7 (NKJV) 7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

It’s always all about God.

Many times we can make the mistake of thinking that things are about us, or about what we want or what we think should happen.

We mistakenly pray for God to change a person, based on what we perceive to be “wrong” with them. Our concern and our prayers may be well-intentioned and even partially correct in their perception.

But, ultimately, God is the only One who can draw someone to Him, the only One who can bring true change to a person’s heart and the only One who can produce fruit in someone’s life.

So when we pray for people, we need to make sure that we’re not naming their “sin” and asking God to show them how wrong they are. But, instead, we need to pray that God will touch their heart and draw them to Himself.

It’s there, close to God, where we find life-changing conviction and the power to overcome sin in our lives. Not through rhetoric, debate or harsh words.

Love overcomes all things.

Proverbs 10:12 (NKJV) 12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.

John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
