Love suffers long…
I have people that God has laid on my heart whom I have been praying for for a very long time. I’m sure you do as well.
Years of praying and watching, waiting for the praise report!
We do this not because we feel more righteous than them. We do it because we are all trying to overcome our weaknesses.
But loving others can sometimes cause suffering from watching the struggle. It can wear us down.
It comes from the deep love we have for them. We see from a distance what their weakness is doing to them. And it is painful not only for them, but for those who have been carrying them in prayer.
These people that I have been praying for have very little time to get it right due to their age; the clock is ticking, so to speak.
I am praying that they understand they are not alone, that we have a Savior, and through His power we can be strong even in our weakness! And that His power will rest upon us.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
As long as they are still breathing, there is time!
I will love them and pray for them and look up to where our help comes from, trusting that God can turn it around and they can walk in victory over this weakness they so desperately struggle with.
Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV) 121 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
God, help me continue to pray, to be patient and understanding, for as long as I need to.
Love suffers long. Amen 🙏🏻
