Bible Verse of The Day – 12-8-22

Psalm 119:18 (NKJV) 18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

It’s important that we ask God to open our heart, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, to the message of the scriptures. We need to understand what it is that He is showing us at times, so we’re not just reading for the sake of reading.

His word is alive!

We gain so much from reading, studying and spending time with Him.

We can get so caught up in our own problems, and the problems of others, that we forget where the answers lie for those problems.

That’s exactly what the devil wants for us; to fail and to give up. He wants us to make the wrong choices and to head down a road of destruction. That is his goal for us.

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

But if we allow God to open our eyes to His laws and His truth, He will teach us how to avoid the road of destruction, and we will be on a road of victory!

The Holy Spirt will forever guide us through the scriptures and give us understanding in every area of our life.

We must set our whole heart like a flint to seek Him and His wonderful law.

Psalm 119:2 (NKJV) 2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-19

Psalm 40:8 (NKJV) 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

To delight in His will is a whole new ball game, so to speak.

This means that we put our ways aside and we do things His way, in His timing, and with the right attitude.

Some may not like what God has for us to do. But God knows us better than we know ourselves, and His will may be more satisfying than anything we may conjure up on our own.

If only we would just trust Him and stay at our post long enough to see it through, we would learn that His will for us is better than we could have imagined. It is much more fulfilling, satisfying and complete.

Delight in His will for us today and enjoy the journey! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-18

John 5:30 (NKJV) 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

It was through His Father that Jesus did all that He did. The Son of God said of Himself that He could do nothing. Amazing!

What does that tell us? That of ourselves we can do nothing. If Jesus could do nothing without His Father, then how could we possibly do things without Him?

We need God!

How do we get Him? We go through His Son. That is the only way to the Father.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus Christ, His Son, made the way. It was not easy. It was a very hard road for Him. It took a humble heart and the sacrificing of His own will.

When people think about Jesus and His sacrifice, they think of what He did for us on the cross. Yes, that was the ultimate sacrificial act done for all mankind; Giving up of His life for each one of us.

But, before His physical death that took place on the cross, He had already sacrificed something very personal; His WILL.

Everything Jesus did, everything that was recorded and more, was of His Father’s will.

In this journey we are on as Believers, there will come a time in our life where we will want the Father’s will to be done more than we want our own. We will develop a hunger for it and that will be what moves us.

This is a place that is very dear, because we override our wants, desires, needs, etc. and wait patiently for His will.

God is working on His children and He is raising up an army. This army will know the will of the Father and they will do what He asks, above and beyond what they think or know.

Together, His children will march to the beat of His heart and do only His will through the strength of His Son, Jesus Christ and our Helper, the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-17-17

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

As followers of Christ, it’s important that we never forget who we are and Who we belong to.

We have a tendency to sometimes forget this. We like to think we’ve got it all together and don’t need anyone’s help; not even God’s help.

But this is completely wrong. This is a fatal mistake on the part of believers. We can reach a point where we become self-confident and feel like we can handle anything and everything on our own.

When that happens, we begin stepping out and doing things on our own, without even bothering to get with God first. This is where we get ourselves into trouble.

Jesus himself told us that we can do nothing without Him.

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

We need to be cautious of starting to feel like we don’t need God any longer. Yes, He will equip us to do the things that He asks us to do. But we should always go to Him and lean on Him to accomplish those things.

When we reach a point of feeling like we no longer need Him, we are almost implying that we can take His place and do His job for Him. We become like little gods. Sound far-fetched?

It’s more common than we might think. And it can happen to anyone, if we get our priorities mixed up or listen to the wrong voices.

The Holy Spirit will always point us back to God… For everything. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the thing is that God wants us to do. God’s spirit will never, ever steer us away from God or His word, to someone or something else.

So, let’s be cautious and diligent to stay close to Him, seek Him in everything we do, and hold His word close to our hearts so He can remind us of it when we need Him to.
