Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-22

2 Timothy 1:1 (NKJV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus…

Paul was an apostle by the will of God, meaning that God wanted to use Paul in such a way.

Could Paul have said no to God? Yes, he could have. God does give us a choice.

However, think of all that would have changed if he did not obey the will of God for his life.

These books, Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Hebrews, in the New testament would not have been written.

All the knowledge, wisdom, correction, struggles, strengths, etc. would have been lost. Wow! Paul’s obedience benefitted us all.

God’s will for our lives may not be to become an apostle like Paul.

Whatever it may be, though, will be very meaningful and make a great difference in some way, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We have a choice. We can say no to His will for us. But I know that if I did, I would always be thinking about the “what if”.

Let us get serious and seek God for who He is, and He will guide us into the things He desires us to do in serving others.

Keep His word in us. It is His manual that guides our steps!

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-12-21 – Not My Will

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the precious name of Jesus.

One of the most powerful examples Jesus set for us is when He prayed and told the Father, “Not my will, but yours be done”.

In our newest video, Not My Will, we teach on what this means in our own lives, and how it can impact us from day to day as we walk it out.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-21-20

Luke 23:34 (NKJV) 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

It’s hard to grasp this level of forgiveness.

We may ask today if we have to forgive people that have hurt us; People that have abused us, stolen from us, and made things hard for us.

Do we have to forgive them like Jesus did? After all, He was the Son of God, so He’s supposed to do this, right?

I really thought as a child that Jesus did what He did simply because He was the Son of God, and it was expected of Him.

To me, coming from a large family, it was kind of like how certain things were expected of my older siblings just because they were older. Us younger ones could get away with the things that the older ones couldn’t because less was expected of us.

I thought It came easy to Jesus, being God’s Son. But I’ve learned over the years that He did what He did because of discipline and denying His own will.

He had discipline within Himself, and help from the Holy Spirit to keep that level of discipline alive.

You and I have that same help. The power and might from God, through the Holy Spirit, helps us to walk in discipline.

It’s the discipline of our heart wanting to do the right thing that allows the Holy Spirit to move in us.

The thing I had to learn is that my will plays an important role in all of this. It has to want to be disciplined.

Jesus’ forgiveness for these people at such a level as this came from His will to be disciplined, to be lined up with His Father’s will. His heart’s desire was to do only what His Father wanted Him to do.

Luke 22:42 (NKJV) 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

When we will to do right, to put God’s wants before our own, this is the result we get.

And when we have a heart that wants what is best, no matter what people have done to us or against us, forgiveness will be there!

Some of us today are bound up and miserable because of unforgiveness in our hearts. It’s killing us.

In this situation, our will is not willing to do what is right.

Make a statement today, through discipline. Tell your will “it will obey” and be willing to let go and forgive. Hold no memories of what was done to us.

Jesus, even though He died on that cross, was set free. He rose on the third day and was alive again!

Today is like our very own third day if we will let this unforgiveness go. We will come alive! Our heart will beat again, and the bonds of unforgiveness will be broken.

Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-20-19

Psalm 37:4-5 (NKJV) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

“What is God’s will for my life?”

That is probably the question we get asked the most on a regular basis. So many believers want to know what God’s plan is for them.

This is a legitimate question. There’s no doubt about it. But most times, it’s a question asked out of the proper timing, and sometimes even with the wrong motives.

Let me explain.

Because of a lack of understanding, many believers fall into this same trap. They get thinking, and it dawns on them that they don’t know “God’s plan” for their life or His “will for them”.

Many people will try to figure it out in various ways. Some will read lots of books. Some will ask people they know. Some might watch videos published by people claiming to know how to find God’s will for your life.

Honestly though, these things are almost all a waste of time.

Why? Because spending time chasing this, instead of spending time pursuing God, will keep us from ever growing into who God wants us to be.

You see, the key to finding God’s will and purpose for your life revolves 100% around learning of God and building your relationship with Him first!

As we learn of Him, and as we get a better understanding of how He wants us to live, we also learn who He wants us to be. And who He wants us to be is the key that unlocks the door to finding out what he wants us to do with our lives.

It’s all part of a tidy little package that is often overlooked, as we keep thinking for some reason that God is going to pop up in front of us one day and say’ “Here’s my plan for your life”, and then lay it all out in a well-marked, easy-to-read road map that shows us every single step to take.

Spend time in His word. Read, study, and read some more. Take it in. Absorb it. Read it some more, and get understanding.

Talk to Him. Listen to Him. Talk to Him some more. And then do what He says to do, even in the simplest things.

As we do this, He will begin to lead us, step by step. And each step that we take will lead us closer and closer to “His will for our lives”.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-19

Psalm 40:8 (NKJV) 8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

To delight in His will is a whole new ball game, so to speak.

This means that we put our ways aside and we do things His way, in His timing, and with the right attitude.

Some may not like what God has for us to do. But God knows us better than we know ourselves, and His will may be more satisfying than anything we may conjure up on our own.

If only we would just trust Him and stay at our post long enough to see it through, we would learn that His will for us is better than we could have imagined. It is much more fulfilling, satisfying and complete.

Delight in His will for us today and enjoy the journey! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-15-19

John 6:38 (NKJV) 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

Jesus came down from Heaven for one purpose; to do His Father’s will. Putting Himself aside and walking out His Father’s will demonstrates the most beautiful relationship that one can have.

We know each day our lives contain things that we have planned and worked for. We have made our own plans for what we want our lives to be.

What if we were to take one hour and give it to God to do whatever He wants with it? Maybe He wants us to pray, or sit and read. Maybe He wants us to go visit someone, call or text them. Or write a letter or card and mail it out. Maybe even go buy something that we know would bring encouragement for them today.

What is the Father’s will in our own personal lives? Are we afraid of what He may ask us to do? Would we put the things aside that we had already planned, and take the time to do it?

Beautiful relationships come from putting others first. Oh, how wonderful would the bride of Christ be if we, His people, continue to walk in Their example of what it is like to have a truly unselfish relationship.

Luke 22:42 (NKJV) 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

Can we say together, “Not our will Lord, but Yours be done today through us.”?

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-19-18

John 12:37 (NKJV) 37 But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him…

They did not believe in Him. Why?

It wasn’t because they didn’t have enough signs. In reality, there were other underlying issues.

People don’t always want to see things for what they are. There’s something that takes place when we do. For one, we need to admit we were wrong. And two, there is usually a change that comes along with acknowledging the truth.

No one can make somebody see things if the person is not willing to see it. And no one can change a person if they are not willing to change. They have to be willing to see with their own eyes and to change in their own heart and mind.

In the scripture above, Jesus gave them an opportunity, through many signs, to see who He was and to believe in Him.

Why didn’t they believe? Because of their will.

We can teach, we can train, and we can go out of our way to make sure we do all that we need to do to help people. But what it all comes down to is whether they are willing to see, listen and then take action. If their will is too strong, nothing will happen.

Sometimes they just aren’t willing. And we may never know why. We just do our part and move on.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-18

John 5:30 (NKJV) 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

It was through His Father that Jesus did all that He did. The Son of God said of Himself that He could do nothing. Amazing!

What does that tell us? That of ourselves we can do nothing. If Jesus could do nothing without His Father, then how could we possibly do things without Him?

We need God!

How do we get Him? We go through His Son. That is the only way to the Father.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus Christ, His Son, made the way. It was not easy. It was a very hard road for Him. It took a humble heart and the sacrificing of His own will.

When people think about Jesus and His sacrifice, they think of what He did for us on the cross. Yes, that was the ultimate sacrificial act done for all mankind; Giving up of His life for each one of us.

But, before His physical death that took place on the cross, He had already sacrificed something very personal; His WILL.

Everything Jesus did, everything that was recorded and more, was of His Father’s will.

In this journey we are on as Believers, there will come a time in our life where we will want the Father’s will to be done more than we want our own. We will develop a hunger for it and that will be what moves us.

This is a place that is very dear, because we override our wants, desires, needs, etc. and wait patiently for His will.

God is working on His children and He is raising up an army. This army will know the will of the Father and they will do what He asks, above and beyond what they think or know.

Together, His children will march to the beat of His heart and do only His will through the strength of His Son, Jesus Christ and our Helper, the Holy Spirit. Amen.
