Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-20

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

When we become a believer, by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, our old being must be transformed. The old man will not do any longer.

We have to begin to pick up godly traits, from that moment on. We are truly a new creation. However, we have to learn, grow and allow this transformation to take place in our heart and in our mind!

Oh boy, will our mind fight back at times. Just remember, if it is fighting us when it comes to doing what is right, we need to be that much stronger to say no.

It will show us the rebellion it has at times, even toward what God wants.

God can not and will not do it for us. He wants us to care for it as needed, and put it in line with His will.

Romans 8:6 (NKJV) 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

As a Christian, if we do not allow this transformation to take place, we will live in a carnal state of mind and it will bring destruction to God’s will for us.

Carnal  thinking should never dominate over the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If we let Him transform our minds, we will walk according to His will, and it will bring life and peace to our spirit man.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-15-18

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

When we become a child of God, we are raw and broken. We may not even know how broken we are. But God does, and He also knows how to fix us, making us a new creation in Christ.

As part of the “fixing” process, God transforms the way we think; renews our minds.

This means that as we grow in Christ, we will begin to change the way we think. Our thought patterns will change. The way we see things will change.

Why? Because God is “adjusting” us in many ways. He changes our heart and the rest follows suit.

You see, as we grow in Christ we begin to see things from a different perspective. Things that we used to think were acceptable are now no longer acceptable. We see the error in our past ways and make the necessary adjustments in our thinking.

On the other hand, there will usually be things that we used to look down on or view as unacceptable that we now have a better understanding of, and we now see them as right.

The worst thing we can do as believers is to not allow God to change our heart and our mind. It is only through this transformation that God can work through us and use us for His kingdom.

So, if you suddenly find yourself questioning some of your old values and embracing new ones as you grow in your walk with God, just know that this is the work of the Holy Spirit, as He transforms you by the renewing of your mind.

Embrace God. Let Him transform you. And enjoy the ride!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-16

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Just a short time ago we sent out a teaching that talked about the renewing of our minds. It’s something we need to be reminded of every so often.

But as I pondered on some things this past week, God showed me more about this that we need to share with everyone.

If we were to really look at and be able to comprehend how God transforms our minds, we would be truly amazed. None of us had the mind that God wanted us to have when we first found Him. It’s safe to say that many of us were probably very far from where God wanted us to be.

But by His power, He took us as we were, embracing even the things that might make us reprehensible to others, and He transformed us one day at a time. And it’s safe to say that if we let Him do this, we are no longer the same person we once were.

So just how does He manage to do this? How does He take a corrupt mind and transform it into a mind that He can use, a mind and heart that loves Him?

Here’s what He showed me. He works through the power of the Holy Spirit, softening our heart. This makes us pliable, so He can work His incredible wonders in our lives.

And when His Spirit has prepared us, He then uses His word to teach us truth. We feed on His word. And because He prepared us ahead of time, we embrace His incredible truth and it changes us forever.

No, this doesn’t happen overnight. In fact, it takes considerable time. And the timetable is different for each one of us. But the length of time isn’t the important part. The important part is that it actually transforms us. We are changed by the power of His Spirit and the truth of His word. Transformed forever.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-4-16

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God is a spirit. He created each of us with a spirit, too. He communicates with us through our spirit. We are spiritual beings, in addition to being made of flesh and bone.

God also gave each of us a mind. We can think and reason. We have intelligence and common sense, which were given to us by our Creator.

God instructs us in the verse above to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Why does He address our minds and not our spirits?

Because the mind is where our decisions and choices are made. Our mind is where warfare is waged against us. Our mind is where the enemy attacks us with temptation.

So it’s only by the renewing and transforming of our minds that we will be able to overcome those things that so often pull on us and cause us to wrestle with choices and decisions.

And it is by God’s spirit that our minds can be renewed. It’s not by our own strength or understanding, but by the strength that He gives us if we let Him.

So it’s up to us to ask God and to allow God to help transform and renew our minds by His spirit.

And once we get this under our belt and allow Him to transform our minds, our lives will be forever changed.
