Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-26

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

As I was out for a bike ride recently, a phrase came to me that I knew was the Holy Spirit speaking.

“I don’t understand, but I trust.”

It’s a phrase or sentiment that we must learn to live by as we learn to walk by faith, instead of what we see or perceive.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (LSB) 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—

Walking by faith isn’t easy, especially when we are a baby in Christ. It comes with time, maturity, and understanding.

But it is something that requires us to allow God to transform our thinking, training our minds to look past human logic.

This can be hard to grasp initially. After all, we are taught in the natural world to live by logic and human intellect.

But as a child of God, our intellect is no longer our guide. We now have the Holy Spirit as our Helper, sent to lead us into all truth.

And it is because of this that we can walk through the most difficult times of our lives without always understanding why God shows us to do certain things.

Our responsibility isn’t to always understand. It is to trust Him as He leads and guides us.

No, this isn’t always easy. And sometimes it can be downright scary to our minds.

But it’s what we are commanded in God’s word to do.

And do it we must 🙏🏻

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-17-26

Isaiah 55:9 (LSB) 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.

As we have shared over the years, we have seen God move on our behalf more times than we can count.

We have watched in awe as He took what appeared to be disastrous and turned it into a mighty display of His power, proving that His ways are higher than our ways.

He showed us repeatedly that what we thought was an answer or solution was only human logic; that He had answers that defied our logic and gave results that transcended human thinking.

And who were we to question Him when we witnessed His sovereignty so blatantly on display?

We tell you this today, not to boast or brag. We are not special or privileged.

We are ordinary human beings who have chosen to follow God wholeheartedly no matter the cost or the consequences.

And in doing so, we have allowed Him to move on our behalf when our logical minds were terrified of what we were walking through, sure that there was no help for us.

Has this decision cost us?

Yes. It has.

As a result, we have walked through some very difficult things that have squeezed us in ways we had never expected nor requested.

We have been persecuted, singled out, and pushed out.

Yet, by God’s strength, and by choosing to unwaveringly follow His leading, we have endured and walked in victory despite the hurdles, despite the persecution, and despite the feeling of impending doom that we sometimes experienced.

And through it all, we have seen miracles, deliverance, and healings; things that we could never have imagined.

Why? Because we chose to stick, and to stand when it would have been easier to walk away.

This is a journey of love; love for God, love for His people, and love for truth, no matter the cost.

God is calling you as well, to your own journey of faith, trust, and consequences.

We encourage you to embrace it wholeheartedly, and watch what God can do when we surrender to Him in every aspect of our lives.

Buckle up and enjoy the journey!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-22-26

John 16:33 (LSB) 33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

Sickness, disease, famine, injury, the loss of a loved one, betrayal by another person, financial distress, and many other calamities can and will befall each of us in our lifetimes.

These things are all part of life. No one is exempt.

And not a single one of us likes them. They’re uncomfortable, painful, stressful, and sometimes seemingly unbearable; gut-wrenching to the point of feeling like there is no possible way through it or surviving it.

Here is a truth that may be inconvenient to acknowledge, but we must acknowledge it.

Most of what we learn about trusting God is born in the face of adversity.

That’s a tough pill for most of us to swallow.

We want to believe that we trust God when there is no need for us to do so.

We want to trust Him, but we also want to cruise through life with no problems, no trials, and no worries.

Unfortunately, we can’t have both peace and the need to trust Him.

It is those times of tribulation that back us into a corner where we have no choice but to trust Him.

And as we learn to trust Him in those difficult seasons, that trust begins to spill over into our “normal” everyday lives.

It becomes something we don’t even think about. We just do it; walking it out one-step-at-a-time each day.

Then, one day we look back and see the fingerprints of God all over our lives. His mercy, His grace, His guidance, and His power all on display as He walked us through each trial we faced.

So, let us be careful to see His hand on us. And let us learn to trust Him even when there seems to be no reason to need to do so; that trusting Him will become as natural as breathing in and breathing out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-16-26

Psalm 22:1-3 (LSB) 22 My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Far from my salvation are the words of my groaning. 2 O my God, I call by day, but You do not answer; And by night, but I have no rest. 3 Yet You are holy, Enthroned upon the praises of Israel.

David was labeled by God as a man after His own heart.

Yet he was not a perfect man. He had his faults and shortcomings.

But he desired to please God in his life as a whole.

He trusted God.

It was to God that he gave thanks and praise.

It was to God that he looked for understanding and wisdom.

And it was to God he would go when he was in trouble.

He understood taking things to God in prayer.

He understood the importance and power of fasting.

And he knew the pain of feeling like God had forsaken him during times when he needed Him most.

But David never forsook God. He knew that God was faithful. And he knew that without God, he could do nothing.

In fact, without God, he would have been nothing more than a shepherd. It was God’s call and anointing upon his life that made him who he was; king of Israel, and the leader of God’s people.

David didn’t let his position or power go to his head. He did not think more of himself than he should have.

He looked to God as his source of everything.

And it was the words of David in the verse above that Jesus cried out on the cross; “My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?”.

Yet David stayed steadfast in trusting God.

There is much we can learn from David’s example. God is faithful in everything.

Just as David did, that is something we can count on no matter what we face in life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-25

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

His thoughts toward us are vastly different from what we could ever imagine.

Are we feeling low about ourselves; about the things we’ve done?

If we are feeling today like we are the worst ever, we could possibly be in a state of depression, thinking everything is going wrong and nothing will ever change.

We may be thinking there is no chance of coming up out of this mess we got ourselves into. Maybe we feel like we just don’t have what it takes to push forward.

Understand that God has different thoughts toward you right now. He knows your heart and what you are made of. He knows your gifts, and He knows what you are good at.

Let Him tell you today who you are in Him. Let Him speak to your heart and show you what He sees in you; what you are made of, just like He did to Jeremiah.

He holds your future in His hands. If we allow ourselves to trust Him with it, He will guide us step by step.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-7-25

Psalm 46:1-2 (LSB) 1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains shake into the heart of the sea;

One thing we can be certain of in life is change. And with that change, trials often come with it.

But the other thing we can be certain of is that God is our refuge and strength; our help in times of trouble.

It’s interesting to note that the Hebrew word for trouble is literally translated as tight places.

When change brings trials or difficulties, we often feel like we are being squeezed; backed into a corner with no way of escape.

But equally important is the fact that “a very present help” literally means “abundantly available for help” in Hebrew.

It should be clear to us that despite facing trials and difficulties, God is present to walk us through them.

The verse above tells us that though the earth will change, and though the mountains shake into the seas, we will not fear.

Why?

Because we know that He is with us regardless of what we may face.

Let Him walk you through whatever difficulty or trial you are facing right now.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-28-25

Habakkuk 3:19 (NKJV) 19 The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

Acknowledging we are in a difficult time, but having such a promise to hold onto no matter how difficult it seems, will help us to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

There is so much hope in our God!

Focusing on the right things will help us bigly to get through the season of growth and challenges! We will come through it victoriously.

Did you ever have a season that made you think you were going to die? A season that was painfully overwhelming and scary?

We have! And I remember clearly how it hurt to wake up and face it each day. But, we took away a very good lesson; don’t focus on the circumstances. Focus on God!

When seasons change and we are not sure what comes next, we must keep going, keep walking, keep thanking God, keep lifting up our hands, and give Him praise.

Psalm 121:7-8 (NKJV) 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

The day will come and we will look back and see that we went from the valley to the Hill. And even though we were exhausted when we reached the top, it was so worth it to say, “look what God did!”

God can and will set us up to walk on high hills.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-18-25

Psalm 3:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. 2 Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah

Many may look at the lives of those who are wealthy, or those who are in power, and may long for their life to be like theirs.

We often believe that wealth, power, or popularity lead to fairytale lives with no problems.

But this is a falsehood; a figment of our human imaginations.

King David had it all; power, wealth, popularity, and God’s favor. But he still faced very difficult situations that caused him great fear and anguish.

In the verses above he was crying out to God as he was being betrayed by one of his own sons, Absalom, who was trying to claim David’s throne as king.

Yes. His own son was endangering his life and his position as the rightful, anointed leader of Gods people.

He had fled the palace and was in hiding, trying desperately to save his own life and the lives of those around him.

Was he afraid? Of course!

But did he abandon his faith in God? Absolutely not!

Despite his fears and the desperation of his situation, he called out to God, because that’s where his trust was!

What are we facing today? What is making us fearful? What obstacle seems insurmountable?

Whatever it is, trust God with it. Call out to Him. And if He asks you to do something, to take steps as part of the solution to your dilemma, be sure to obey Him.

Life can be scary sometimes. And with man this may seem impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-25

Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

As followers of Christ, learning and growing is a lifelong process. There is no beginning or end date.

Growth is something that God wants for each of us.

Part of that learning and growing process happens without us realizing it is happening.

It comes by way of the things we experience in our lives.

Difficulties can push us to grow in areas that we never desired to grow in. Adversity will cause us to reach beyond our perceived boundaries. It will stretch us.

Pastor Ellie and I have seen our share of adversities. We are not exempt.

Admittedly, while facing those difficulties we wanted them to go away. But we have learned to value what God taught us through them.

One of the most prominent and life-changing lessons was learning not to be anxious.

This was not an easy lesson to learn. It required that we fully surrender to God and follow every step He gave us.

But as we did this, He showed us His ways. And He led us through the storm that we were caught in, bringing us safely out the other side with stronger faith in Him than we had ever thought possible.

He has done this for us more than once. And each time taught us new, valuable lessons in faith and trust.

We are not special. He can and will do the same for you. Will you let Him?

Will you surrender to Him and let Him show you His ways, and walk you through whatever storm you may be facing?

It will change your walk with God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-5-25

Acts 16:25 (NKJV) 25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

There is so much we can learn from this verse.

Let us break this down and see what we can gleam from it as we start our Monday!

Paul and Silas had been imprisoned for speaking the name of Jesus and casting a demon from a local slave girl.

The owners of the slave girl were furious with Paul for ordering the demon to leave her.

In their anger, they had Paul and Silas arrested, severely beaten, and thrown into the deepest part of the prison, with their feet secured in stocks.

Knowing this, we need to look closely at what the word says in the verse above.

It was midnight. And not only was it night, but with Paul and Silas being in the inner part of the prison, it was darker than normal.

Their backs were raw from the flogging they had suffered. Their feet were locked in stocks. And guards were posted to be sure they stayed put.

As midnight came, Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God in the darkness.

And what else does the word say? The prisoners were listening!

Paul and Silas could have been crying and asking God why this had happened. But they chose to sing and pray, giving God glory in their moment of extreme agony and discomfort.

So, the question for us is, what would we do in a situation like this?

Do we praise God only when things are good for us, and we can feel His presence strongly?

Do we have what it takes to praise Him when the world is crashing down around us and we are facing life’s strongest storms and trials?

Or do we trust Him only when life is easy, and there seems to be no need for us to lean on Him?

We may quickly answer this and proclaim that we would absolutely do what Paul and Silas did. But when the rubber meets the road, what would we really do?

Let us seek God on this and ask Him to give us the faith, the strength, and the trust in Him to push through the discomfort and lift our hands to Him, speaking His praises for others to hear, bringing Him glory and honor even in our most difficult moments, that those who are listening will see Him also.
