Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-13

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The human mind is incredibly created and intricately formed by God. It has unbelievable power and potential to think and reason.

But it can never fully comprehend the things of God. It just can’t, no matter how intelligent a person is.

The ways of the Spirit of God are so far beyond what the human mind can comprehend, it baffles us. We try hard to get a grasp of what God does and how He does it, but intellect and spirit just don’t mix.

This is the reason that so many people can’t find it in themselves to have faith in a God that they can’t see, simply because they can’t understand Him.

And so it is, that God has caused us to have to have faith in order to believe that He even exists.

It is only by God’s Spirit that we can find Him. It is only His spirit that can break down the barriers of human intellect and draw us to Himself.

This doesn’t mean that we have to be ignorant or uneducated in order to believe God or follow Him. It just means that we need to recognize the drawing of His spirit when He tugs on our heart.

Then and only then can we bow before Him in reverence and follow Him in true faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-13-13

(Psalm 27:1 NKJV)  The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Let us not be afraid of anyone or anything in this world today.

There is nothing too big for God to help us overcome as long as we have faith in Him. We are not saying that it is not difficult to go through trials. But if we stay strong and we don’t fear our situation, but rather know that the Lord gives us all that we need to get through it, we shall come through!

Because we are human, we need to pay attention to one thing that tries to get the best of us; that is our own emotions.

That’s right!  We have to fight against our own emotions and not let them win!

For instance, if our emotions are making us feel that we are not cut out for a specific task that’s in front of us, then we might say “maybe that’s right… maybe I can’t do this”. But with Christ, we can do all things!!

(Philippians 4:13 NKJV)  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

We need to speak God’s truth to our emotions and calm them down.

Today we will say to this MOUNTAIN, “be moved” and it shall be done! No fear involved, just faith in God working through us!

(Matthew 21:21 NKJV)  So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.

Take action and don’t be afraid. Say to your mountain, “MOVE” and it shall be done, as you speak it in faith, not in fear. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-11-13

Mark 5:25-30 (NKJV) 25 Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.

During the past few days we have had some questions asked of us about faith and healing. Specifically, we have been asked why some people get healed when they are prayed for and why some people don’t.

As we replied to one person, we don’t always know or understand why these things happen and none of us ever has all of the answers. But we do want to share something that God has taught us about this phenomenon.

In the scripture above, the woman who came to Jesus knew that if she could just touch Him, she would be healed. Why was this so? How did she know that she would be healed, simply by touching him or his robe?

It was by her faith. God showed us that this woman’s faith had been ignited… lit on fire. She had an absolute knowing in her spirit that left no room for doubt, whatsoever.

We see many other instances of this in God’s word where people had an ignition (sudden boost) of their faith and they absolutely knew beyond any doubt that if they could just get to Jesus they would be healed (Matthew 8:5-13, Matthew 9:2-8).

In all of these examples, Jesus told them “your faith has made you whole”. You see, it was their faith that made them whole. Their faith had been ignited and raised to new levels, and with this elevated faith, they absolutely knew that they would be healed and delivered from their affliction.

This was the case in my own life, when God healed me of asthma after being under its curse for 30 years. The story is too long to share here, but let me just say that I had asked God to heal me many, many times. It wasn’t until I got a revelation from God and my faith was ignited that I actually received complete healing and deliverance from this terrible curse.

We all need to let God teach us how to allow Him to ignite our faith. It’s all right there in His word. We just need to see it for what it is and get it in us.

Then He can perform miracles in our lives and the lives of those around us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-9-13

(James 5:15 NKJV)  And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

When we pray for ourselves or for others in need, we must believe within ourselves that God can and will save them or heal them. We must believe. If we have any doubt about it, then our prayer is not in faith; our prayer is in doubt.

It’s pretty simple, when we think about it, that we just need the prayer of faith, and then friends, family members and so forth will be saved and forgiven!

Now, knowing this truth, let us ask God to show us who needs this prayer today. And together, let us go after this world one by one and pray the prayer of faith for them and with them.

However it comes, let us take this world for Christ! Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-18-13

Hebrews 10:38 (NKJV) Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

The just shall live by faith. We probably hear this all the time, but what does it mean?

This isn’t necessarily a call to “super Christendom”. It’s a call from our Creator to look to Him for everything we need in this life and the life beyond.

It’s a word from our Father, telling us to push forward, even when our mind can’t comprehend how.

It’s a loving Father taking us by the hand and picking us up when we fall down, brushing the dirt off of us and nudging us to get up and try again.

And it’s a look from a firm Daddy, letting us know that anything less than faith displeases Him.

God never expects perfection from us. He just wants us to trust Him with everything in us and let Him lead us, every single step of the way.

It’s not always easy to do, but reach out, take His hand and let Him show you the next step to take.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-13

Job 1:1 (NKJV) There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.

Job loved God. His ways were blameless.

In spite of this, Job went through some terrible trials. He literally lost everything he had including his family and all of his possessions, in less than 24 hours.

What’s truly remarkable about this is that when Job received word that he had lost absolutely everything he held dear, he didn’t pot, throw a tantrum or have a pity party. Job 1:21 (NKJV) And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

Obviously, Job was sad and probably even distraught, but he refused to wallow in pity or ask God “why me?”.

So our question for everyone today is this: How would we handle something like this? Would we “lose it” and shake our fist at God, or would we trust God despite what we saw in front of us?

This is something that we will probably never know for sure until we’re in a seemingly-desperate situation. Only then will we truly be tested and see “what we’re made of”.

If we read the rest of the book of Job, we’ll see that Job went through even further trials as he was afflicted with great physical pain and suffering. Even so, Job stood fast in his faith and refused to curse God.

So how did this all turn out for Job? Ultimately, his body was healed and everything he had lost was restored to him and more. In fact, he was blessed with more than double what he originally lost, including sons and daughters.

So we ask again; “how would we handle ourselves in this kind of a situation?”. Food for thought…

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-13

(Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV)  Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, {2} looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We are all running in a race! This is not a race with temporal results or implications. It is a race with eternal consequences!

Each and every one of us must run this race to the best of our ability, trained and nurtured by God, through the Holy Spirit.

God urges us to run our race with “endurance”.

Endurance doesn’t come easily. It takes lots and lots of training and hard work, and it usually comes with a fair amount of fighting and resistance.

Building endurance requires a lot of discipline. Discipline is something that not too many of us like, whether it’s self-discipline or discipline applied by someone who is over us or in charge of us.

It’s so very important that we remember that the race we’re running isn’t just some earthly sporting event with a bunch of fans cheering for their favorite runner. This race involves our eternal soul, and we have God cheering us on from His heavenly throne!

If you’re tired today, lift your eyes to heaven and draw strength from God, our creator and the supplier of our needs.

When we cross the finish line, He will be there waiting for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-27-13

(Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There are probably many of us reading this verse today who are familiar with it. Perhaps many of us have even heard many messages preached or taught using this verse.

Well, today is a good day to hear it again!!

Did you know that it takes faith to please God? That’s right! Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.

(Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Are we diligently seeking Him today? Or are we just hoping He will come through for us?

Diligent: characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort

We must be diligent and active in our faith! We must energetically pursue God, pressing in to know Him more intimately.

This is what pleases Him. So if you’re feeling like your walk with God is lifeless and passive, make a vow to breathe new life into it by passionately seeking Him.

Do this! Be relentless in your pursuit of Him and watch your faith grow to new heights.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-13

(Hebrews 6:12 NKJV)  that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

I find it interesting that it is through faith and patience we inherit the promises.

These two things, faith and patience, are probably what we all have a hard time with. Faith gets stronger and stronger in us as we trust God, but we will never see the answer if we don’t have patience enough to wait on Him. These two things work together to receive the promises.

We cannot just sit back and do nothing if we want answers and victory in our lives, or the lives of others around us. It’s going to take us working at having faith for things we never thought we could have, and patience for God’s timing to receiving them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-13

(Hebrews 11:8 NKJV)  By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

This is the summation of our walk with God; By Faith.

As we are children and we grow up, we are taught that we need to meticulously plan our every move. We need to plan for our future. We need to map everything out.

And while there is some truth to this, it leaves God out of the picture; eliminates “the faith factor”.

We, as God’s people, need to learn to live and move by faith. We need to learn to trust God so much that we can learn to walk in the kind of faith that Abraham had.

God told Abraham to go, but didn’t tell him where to go. Abraham obeyed, leaving behind all that was familiar to him. Was he perfect in his obedience? No. But he did obey and he did leave his homeland and venture out into the unknown.

There is a balance that we all need to work toward attaining. We need to be responsible, but we also need to trust God and have a level of faith that will carry us through whatever comes our way.

Trust God. Put Him first and everything else will follow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-26-13

(Acts 3:6-7 NKJV)  Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” {7} And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

We seem to have touched on the subject of tests and trials a lot this week and I’m sure it wasn’t by coincidence that this happened. There are definitely many in the body of Christ who need God’s miraculous hand on their lives. And we’re included in that with everyone else.

We have shared with everyone about our prayer requests and we have lifted you up before God in prayer also.

Now we want to take that next step. We could simply pray for you and then walk away and leave you to your own devices, hoping you see the hand of God move upon you.

But today, as Peter did with the lame man at the gate called Beautiful, we reach out to you in spirit and take hold of your hand, lifting you up to your feet, and we command you to rise up and walk, in the name of Jesus!!

Don’t sit and wait for God to pick you up. Receive His healing, His victory and His provision and get up and move! Walk, leap and dance, giving God the glory and praise!

We can sit and feel bad for ourselves, wondering what tomorrow will bring, or we can trust God for a breakthrough and heed His voice and take action when He says to.

Let God speak to you today. As we grab hold of your hand and lift you up, receive what He has for you, in the name of Jesus!
