Bible Verse of The Day – 7-9-13

(Psalm 107:29 NKJV)  He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.

Are you in a storm today? Are you stuck in a place where you don’t want to be? Do you feel like you are in prison, and you are holding the key to get out but are afraid to make the move?

God’s Peace is amazing! When going through a trial or tribulation (a storm), remember that no matter how big of a wave it is, He will calm that thing down. How does this happen? As we follow His direction, we will feel His peace and that peace will help us to make the right moves.

Not long ago, we were in a trial. We were praying and seeking God and His answer came. It came, but we overlooked it, it was so plain and clear, but not what we were looking for.

Time went on and we tried doing everything we knew to do by our  own understanding…the storm was getting worse and worse, those big nasty waves kept beating on us, the pressure was getting heavier and we were getting weak and tired from the constant beating.

We finally sat back down and asked God, “What are we missing?”, only to hear the same thing He had told us the first time we asked.

He showed us again and we began to take the steps, like He said to do, and His peace was there instantly and things began to work out. The storm was calmed!!

Sometimes we can miss what God is saying to us to do because we feel so strong that it should be done another way. But if we miss it the first time, just get back with Him and repent and ask Him if it’s too late or can we try again to get it right?

There are times we will miss the timing for something, and it doesn’t come back around again. But there are also those times we do get another chance.

We learned that no matter what storm we go through in life, we can still have peace in it as long as we follow God, because He is the “Calmer of the STORM!”

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-24-13

(Colossians 3:15 NKJV)  And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.

This verse jumped out at me when I saw it, so I knew I had to share it with everyone!

As we have talked about so many times recently, we live in times of great turmoil and high stress. Regardless of what country we live in, there is unrest and constant change.

Peace is something that seems to be hard to find, outside of knowing God. With Him we can have peace, but without Him it’s pretty difficult to find peace in anything at all.

But did you notice how this verse ended? It tells us to be thankful. So God wants us to have peace and He also wants us to be thankful.

Sometimes learning to be thankful is what it takes to have peace. Because once we learn to be thankful and content, the peace comes naturally. But if we are never content or thankful for what we have, we will always be in a state of unrest, never having peace.

We need to let God teach us how to be content, thankful and full of His peace, no matter what we’re facing. For when we become content with what we have been given, then we are ready for what He has next for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-10-13

(Philippians 4:4 NKJV)  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

We have two words for everyone today. The first is “Rejoice”!

No matter what we are facing, we need to learn to rejoice. When you feel like the whole world is against you, Rejoice! Be thankful for your blessings… the little things. Don’t get caught up in the negative, but thanks God for the good things.

The Israelites spent 40 years making a 12-day journey. Why? Because they grumbled and complained, instead of rejoicing.

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

And as you rejoice, “be anxious for nothing”. Bring your requests to God and be thankful! Make your requests known and then rest in Him, knowing that His peace can overcome any kind of turmoil that tries to overtake you.

God’s peace can’t be understood or comprehended by our minds. But it will carry us through the storms and bring us safely to the other side where we can celebrate our victory in Christ.

Rejoice and rest in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-12

(Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; {7} and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God’s peace can never be explained away. It’s something that can’t be understood by the human mind.

Having the peace of God doesn’t come naturally. As human beings, we always like to know everything… to have it all figured out. Moving with God will sometimes (many times) mean that we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

This tends to mess with our heads and cause us to question God if we look at things through human eyes.

But once we begin to get God’s heart and start to see things through His eyes, everything starts to look a whole lot different. As we begin to trust Him more, we also have more peace.

This is the peace that passes understanding. This is the peace that we can have when it seems like the world is crashing down around us. And this is the peace we can have when everyone is looking at us and wondering how we can be so calm when everything looks like it’s falling apart.

Know God. Know His Peace.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-12

(Mat 11:28 NKJV)  “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

As a follow-up to yesterday’s verse, we want to reassure everyone that God is in control.

Jesus told us to come to Him so He can give us rest! This adds to His words that we shared about worrying. He wants us to rest in Him!

This doesn’t mean that when something comes along that requires work on our part that we just ignore it and wait for God to clean up the mess for us. But it does mean that as we are obedient to Him and we do what He requires of us, we don’t need to “sweat the small stuff”.

God’s rest is different than what man thinks of when it comes to rest. God’s rest gives us peace, comfort and joy. God’s rest takes away our worries and replaces them with security in His word and His promises.

So take God’s promises and the words of Jesus and implement them in your life, trusting Him. Put them into practice and learn how to live in His peace. It takes some effort on our part initially, but the effort is more than worth it when we finally understand this truth and begin to walk it out.

We pray God’s peace over each and every one of you today, in the name of Jesus.
