Bible Verse of The Day – 7-2-12

(2 Cor 9:7 NKJV)  So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Being a cheerful giver is something God loves! So, with that in mind we have to purpose or be determined within our hearts that when we give we are going to be happy about it. Giving can be a lot of fun!

One night I had a dream. My husband and I were in this home and we both received a big boulder-sized chunk of gold. We went from room to room and in each room we both would break off a little bit of our gold and give it for whatever need there was in that room.

We were happy and smiling and really having fun!! We went through the whole house, and ended up back in the same room together. We looked down at our hands and in them was not a single piece of gold left. We looked at each other in surprise and thought, “OH NO, we gave it all away!” But, as we both looked up, Jesus was smiling at us and we knew He was happy with our choice.

He then walked us over to the edge of a cliff. There below us were tons of people, so many people, and they were happy to see us. Those people were all the people that we helped through our giving. God was showing us that we would reap from our sowing and that everything was going to be OK.

What we give today is what we will receive from tomorrow. We can’t be stingy or miserable when we give, wishing we could just keep it to gain more for ourselves.

Be a cheerful giver today!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-12

(Gal 6:9 KJV)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

How many of us are in a challenging season right now?

Everything in us is saying “when is this ever going to change? When will I get my raise? When will these people stop with their gossip about me? When will my child respect me and listen to what I have to say? When will my spouse pay attention to me? When, when when?”

Don’t give up… faint NOT! Don’t even entertain these thoughts. When they come at you, you come right back with “IN DUE SEASON”, because that’s what God says!!

Repeat these words: “In Due SEASON we shall REAP”.

We claim this promise over your situations today.

Your Daily Bible Verse – 2-6-12

(Mark 12:41-44 NKJV)  Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. {42} Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. {43} So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; {44} “for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”

We very often have people ask us how they can give of their finances when it seems that they don’t have anything to give.

Most times this is related to a situation where the person has very little because they have been through a hardship or tough financial situation. Most often, people say that they can’t afford to give.

Speaking from a Biblical perspective, we can’t afford not to give.

Giving is the key to receiving. This is a Biblical truth. Fruit can only come when seeds are sown. Whatever we sow, we will reap. If we don’t give, we can’t expect to receive. If we sow a little, we will reap a little.

How our giving is perceived is based on our abundance, or lack of it. If we have been financially blessed, we need to sow big seeds. If we are in a tough time, we will sow smaller seeds. But the key is that we still need to be sowing.

Giving out of our need is the biggest sacrifice we can make. Jesus drew attention to this when the widow gave a small amount because it’s a truth that needed to be made known. What she gave might have been small compared to what the rich men gave. But what she gave was huge for her in light of her situation.

So if you’re struggling with your finances today, don’t ask God how you can afford to give. Ask Him how much you need to give.

Trust Him in this.
