Bible Verse of The Day – 3-18-19

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Steadfast: resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering. Loyal, faithful, dedicated, resolute, relentless, unchanging, unwavering, unflinching, uncompromising.

Paul urges the Corinthians to be steadfast and immovable in their work for the Lord.

This is something that we all need to take seriously, being steadfast, immovable.

It’s not always easy. Unexpected things can happen that may try to knock us backwards. Sometimes they may make us waver a little.

But as we look upward to God, and we draw our strength from Him, He will help us keep our feet planted, even when we end up lying flat on our backs, looking up.

The important thing is to remember that not a single one of us has the strength to do this on our own. None of us.

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

So, don’t be dismayed, discouraged or afraid!

God is with us wherever we go. He is for us!

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-16-18

Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

It’s very important that we learn and understand that God loves us and wants to help us. He’s not there to yell at us or hurt us. He wants to teach us, train us and bring us up to higher ground.

Once we understand this, our striving to be accepted by people will subside and eventually stop.

It’s nice to have good friends and family around us at times. It makes us feel good and feel accepted. But, there will come a time in our life, if we are serious about getting closer to God, when He will call us out for a season. He will call us away from those friends and family members, wanting us to spend less time with them and more time with Him.

During this time, we will learn many things. He will teach us to lean on Him more than on our family and friends.

We may feel alone at first, and almost feel like we are going backwards. But God knows and will help us through those lonely and discouraging moments. It’s a time of removing the things that don’t belong and enhancing those things that do. You might call it a heart-to-heart cleansing.

During this season He will teach us how to trust Him. He will teach us the importance of running to Him with everything first. He will teach us to be ourselves. And to see ourselves, even in times when it may hurt.

Change, and the cleansing of our hearts, does not come unless we see the need for it. But, the Lord is gracious and gives us the time and help to do so.

If we feel alone today, don’t be discouraged. It may be our season for us to learn more about who we are, who God wants us to become, the changes we need to make and what God wants to do with us and through us.

Embrace this time with Him, that we may move forward with a steadfast spirit.
