Bible Verse of The Day – 6-3-26

Proverbs 29:25 (LSB) 25 Trembling before man brings a snare, But he who trusts in Yahweh will be set securely on high.

Fearing what people think of us is a snare that can drastically alter the course of our lives if we don’t take the steps that are necessary to correct it.

This can affect both our natural lives and our spiritual lives as the fear of man causes us to avoid doing things that are required of us in one way or another.

This can be a very tough behavior to overcome, especially if we try to tackle it on our own.

So, how do we tackle it?

Not by might, nor by power.

You see, these things can be tackled and overcome only by allowing the Holy Spirit to empower us and give us wisdom.

Philippians 4:13 (LSB) 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

When God calls us or prompts us to do something, He also empowers us to do it.

The catch here is that we must first allow Him to do so, and then we must obey Him when that prompting comes.

God does not force us to do anything. He brings it to our attention and then gives us free will. We choose whether we do it or not.

So, if it is our desire to please God and obey Him, we will learn to let the Spirit of God give us what it takes to walk out those things that are difficult or beyond our natural abilities.

Sometimes that fear will still try to rise in us. And the enemy will whisper in our ears to use it against us.

But He that is in us is stronger (and bigger) than he that is in the world. And it is Him that calls the shots, not our fear of others and what they might think of us.

1 John 4:4 (LSB) 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

So, when that fear starts to rise, we must tell it to sit down and be quiet so we can hear and obey the voice of God as He speaks.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-26

Matthew 5:16 (LSB) 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

What Jesus said here is so often overlooked by us, His disciples, that it has fallen through the cracks on a large scale.

And here are a few of the reasons why.

Shining the light of Christ through our own lives can be uncomfortable. It’s not something that comes naturally for most of us.

Sometimes we are required to do or say things that are different than what we’re used to doing or saying.

Sometimes shining the light of God is inconvenient. It doesn’t fit into our pre-planned schedule or agenda.

We may not have specifically planned to be the light at that moment when it is required. So, we bypass it for the sake of convenience.

And sometimes we have preconceived ideas or perceptions of people we are called to minister to.

Maybe we’ve judged them by their appearance. Maybe we don’t like the way they carry themselves, or the language they use.

So, we waltz on past them despite the promptings of the Holy Spirit to do otherwise.

If that’s the case, we need to learn to let God show us how to minister to them by His Spirit, not by our own understanding.

You see, we must remember that it was neither comfortable or convenient for Jesus as He was taking lashings, being spit upon, slapped and punched, or having nails driven through His hands and feet for our sake.

So let us step out of our comfort zones, taking the hard, uncomfortable steps, and do what must be done to obey what Jesus has told us.

Will it always be easy? No, it won’t.

But will it please God as we do it? Yes, it will. And that is what counts.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-30-26

John 8:11 (NKJV) 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Jesus’ words, “neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more”, hit me right in the heart.

Understand that this woman that they brought to Jesus was caught in adultery. The Law of Moses commanded such people to be stoned.

But look what Jesus said; “neither do I condemn you.”

Wow! Jesus is showing her so much mercy, and is setting her free from condemnation.

But what else is important for us to see and hear is the next line. He tells her to go and sin no more. He gives her instructions as to how to stay walking in that freedom.

Right there is where we can miss it, my friend. And many have.

They have gotten stuck on the mercy and forgiveness part and totally overlooked the next thing Jesus instructed her to do to stay free; Go and sin no more.

This is important because right there she must decide in her heart whether to leave her destructive lifestyle and follow Christ.

Abiding in Him and His word is the only way we keep our hearts on that right path.

John 8:31-32 (NKJV) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Yes, He gave her mercy instead of condemning her. But there was also a step she needed to take, and that was to no longer go back to her sin.

Today, Jesus is saying to us who are living a sinful lifestyle, “neither do I condemn you, but go and sin no more.”

That means we must stop; we can’t continue to do the very thing that He can condemn us of.

Turn away, resist the enemy, and He will flee.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

What will we do today? Will we stop and receive His mercy, His forgiveness that He offers, and not go back to that sinful lifestyle?

Or will we continue to live a life of self-destruction?

It’s totally our choice.

It doesn’t matter the depth of the sin. He is merciful.

But what does matter is that we must be the one to resist the enemy and not go back into what He has set us free from.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-29-26

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

This verse is my anthem in life. In fact, we both live by this, individually, and as a married couple.

We have learned over the years that there is really no other way to live.

Trust God, even when our minds cannot wrap around what He is doing from a natural standpoint.

It’s beautiful and terrible at the same time. And that is not an insult to God in any way.

You see, what is beautiful as God moves can look or feel terrible to our natural minds and our emotions.

Even as Children of God it can sometimes be tough to discern everything. Some things are just too deep or too mind-boggling to grasp.

And this causes our heads to explode as we watch God walk out things that we would never have imagined.

We would not have it any other way. We have learned to love it, even when we may not always understand it all.

“God, you’re the Captain of this ship called life. And we give You full permission to navigate in the direction, and by the methods that You see fit.

We are here to bring You glory and honor in any way possible, so teach us and show us how.

So, we will follow Your lead as closely as possible by the leading and power of the Holy Spirit.”

And to those who are reading this, we invite you to come along on this journey in your own lives.

Jump aboard God’s ship of life and watch in awe as He bends your mind, teaching you how to trust Him even when you might not fully understand or comprehend what He is doing and why He is doing it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-28-26

John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

When Jesus says “I Am the light”, He is declaring His Divine Identity. He is the way, He is the truth, He is the life! No one will come to the Father except through Him!

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

This is where it all happens right here.

Once we have put our faith in Him as our Redeemer and Savior, His light lives in us as we will follow Him.

Part of this is turning away from the wicked, evil things this world offers, and seeking God for His plan in our lives.

Our desires will be to follow Him and the life He has for us; no more messing with darkness.

We won’t be perfect, and we may stumble at times, making the wrong choices. But if we really want to learn, we will! And His light will become strong in us.

We don’t keep this Light suppressed and to ourselves. We need to share it with others through our daily walk.

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Shine bright right where you are today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-27-26

1 Corinthians 1:27 (LSB) 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,

Many of us make the mistake of thinking that we need to be Bible scholars to understand the deeper things of God.

And while a strong intellect can sometimes be a factor, that same strong intellect can sometimes also be a hindrance.

You see, there are some things that God does that even the wisest man can’t figure out or comprehend.

And that’s Okay!

God doesn’t ask us to understand everything. He asks us to have faith.

It is our faith that pleases God!

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

And with our faith, we learn of God and His ways, asking Him for wisdom, which He gives liberally and without prejudice to those who ask.

James 1:5 (NKJV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

So, never fear that you can’t know God because of a lack of understanding. It is He that gives us understanding.

We just need to ask!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-26-26

Proverbs 4:13 (NKJV) 13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.

When we understand how much God loves and cares for us, we will cherish His instructions and wisdom in our lives.

He has a divine purpose for us, and allowing Him to lead us with wisdom for our daily decisions is crucial.

His instructions will save us from unnecessary trouble and keep us on the right path with Him, building our relationship ever so strong.

Relying on our own understanding limits us and keeps us from walking fully in God’s plan for our life.

Hold tightly to His instructions; they will guide us into a purposeful and blessed life.

Tell Him everything you are dealing with, and He will guide your steps, for He cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-25-26

Romans 8:6 (LSB) 6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,

The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.

This is the perfect description of life in Christ for those who choose to live, not with our minds on the flesh and the things of this world, but on the Spirit and the things of God.

In Him is life.

Many wonder why they are not closer to God, or why their life doesn’t produce more fruit.

Most times this can be answered simply by us examining where our heart and mind are focused.

Are they focused on things on the earth, or on things above?

Colossians 3:2 (NKJV) 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Maybe that is difficult for us. We try, but we can never seem to make the change from earthly things to things above.

How do we make that shift?

We allow God to transform our minds through the power of the Holy Spirit and by spending time in His word DAILY.

God’s word is the vehicle by which He will give us knowledge and understanding. And it is the tool by which He will reshape our thinking.

Don’t let the enemy fool you. You can walk more closely with God.

You can learn of Him.

And you can become fruitful in the Kingdom of God.

Open God’s word diligently each day. Start small and let Him help you grow in it.

Before you know it, you will be hungering and thirsting for it, longing for the next time you can sit and take it in.

And as you do so, your mind will no longer be focused on the flesh and things of earth, but on God and things above.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
