Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-26

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up…

Love suffers long…

I have people that God has laid on my heart whom I have been praying for for a very long time. I’m sure you do as well.

Years of praying and watching, waiting for the praise report!

We do this not because we feel more righteous than them. We do it because we are all trying to overcome our weaknesses.

But loving others can sometimes cause suffering from watching the struggle. It can wear us down.

It comes from the deep love we have for them. We see from a distance what their weakness is doing to them. And it is painful not only for them, but for those who have been carrying them in prayer.

These people that I have been praying for have very little time to get it right due to their age; the clock is ticking, so to speak.

I am praying that they understand they are not alone, that we have a Savior, and through His power we can be strong even in our weakness! And that His power will rest upon us.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

As long as they are still breathing, there is time!

I will love them and pray for them and look up to where our help comes from, trusting that God can turn it around and they can walk in victory over this weakness they so desperately struggle with.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV) 121 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

God, help me continue to pray, to be patient and understanding, for as long as I need to.

Love suffers long. Amen 🙏🏻

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-8-26

Romans 8:28 (LSB) 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

He is still God, no matter what we are facing, thinking, or feeling.

Battles come and go.

Tribulations come and go.

We experience seasons of immense joy.

And we wrestle with seasons of great anguish.

He is God even when we don’t understand why we face the things we face.

Our minds may not comprehend it. But He is God, nonetheless.

We may cry out for answers and hear nothing. The perceived silence may be deafening as we long for an answer that makes sense to our human understanding.

He is still God when nothing seems to make sense.

He is still God.

He is sovereign. His rule and reign never end.

He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

So, whether we face great joy or great difficulty, we must know that He is still God. And nothing will ever change that.

2 Timothy 2:13 (LSB) 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-7-26

John 4:26 (NKJV) 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”

Jesus was speaking to a Samaritan woman at a well. In their conversation, He explained that He is the Messiah that she had referred to in her previous sentences; the One they had been expecting and waiting on.

In these two words, “am He”, is the answer she has been waiting for!

What she expected to come at some point in the future was right in front of her, talking to her face-to-face. And she didn’t know it.

John 4:25 (NKJV) 25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

Are we like this woman, still waiting for answers, waiting for Him to tell us all things?

“Am He” could be standing right in front of us today. Listen to what He is saying.

His mother said it best; do what He tells you to do.

John 2:5 (NKJV) 5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Let us stop looking and waiting. He has come!

And He is faithful! 🙏🏻

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-6-26

John 14:6 (LSB) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me.

Jesus may have used parables in many of His public teachings, but when speaking directly with individuals He was typically very direct.

This is a perfect example of that.

And in this single verse, He said something significant; there is no other way to the Father.

He is the only way to the Father. There is no alternative way. There are no loopholes. There are no shortcuts.

It is through Him and only Him that we are saved and have access to the Father.

The world may try to convince us otherwise.

They may try to tell us that we must tolerate those who insist that there are many ways. But we know otherwise. And we can be sure of this.

So let no one ever convince you that there is any other way to the Father but the One, Jesus Christ, our risen Savior and Lord.

Acts 4:12 (LSB) 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-4-26

Psalm 100:5 (NKJV) 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Maybe we are in a season of our lives where it is hard to be happy about anything.

But we don’t have to be in a good place to let loose and praise God. We can praise Him simply because of who He is!

We can start by knowing He is good!

Hebrew word for good is Tob. Meaning, pleasant, desirable, beneficial, and righteous.

The Greek word for good, agathos, means upright, honorable,  and virtuous. Also Greek, agathosune, zeal for truth and righteousness, involving sternness to oppose evil.

Breaking down the word, good, shows us God’s character. He is all of this and more; the ultimate standard of goodness!

David speaks of His mercy being everlasting.

His mercy is available continuously as we come to Him and repent. It’s not based on our actions, or the things we have done wrong. Thank the good Lord!

David also says, He’s truth endures to all generations; it is not temporary. It is for all of God’s people, past, present, and future.

No one will be excluded as we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Praise doesn’t come from where we are in our life. It comes from an inward knowing of Who He is, and letting it out!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-3-26

John 8:31 (LSB) 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly My disciples;

There is a very important message in this verse that we need to be sure doesn’t get ignored or overlooked.

The importance of it may be easily missed if we aren’t diligent in discerning the word by the Holy Spirit.

We are all very likely familiar with the verse that follows this one, John 8:32, in which Jesus states that we shall know the truth, and the truth shall make us free.

But it is important to note that verse 32 begins with “and”, which should always lead us to see what the “and” is referring to.

In this case, Jesus had stated that we are truly His disciples if we abide in His word.

What did He mean? And what does it mean to abide in His word?

Let’s address the word “abide” first, since the rest of the verse hinges on that stipulation.

The Greek word for “abide” is meno, which implies or emphasizes permanence and endurance, surrendering our life wholly to Him; every aspect of it.

This does not mean we are expected to be perfect. It simply means never forsaking Him. We endure, and we persevere regardless of what we face or how many times we may fail.

Perseverance does not mean perfection. It means having the willingness and fortitude to stay the course, even when that course may be very hard.

It also means being willing to die to self, as Jesus mentioned in Luke 9:23.

And as we study God’s word, we will see that this is a common thread that is taught by Jesus, Paul, James, and others, as they wrote that we must endure to the end, running the race in such a way that we may obtain the prize (eternal life in God’s presence).

No, we do not endure or persevere to earn eternal life.

But our perseverance is living proof of our stated or confessed faith in Him.

James 1:12 (LSB) 12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-2-26

Psalm 63:1-2 (NKJV) 1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

Early will I seek You.

This is something I try to do each day. And the older I get, the more I try to get up even earlier, so I don’t get distracted with other things.

The day will take over our time if we don’t stay determined and focused.

I love how David says his soul thirsts for God.

Have you ever felt like this? Where you needed to get with God, but everything kept taking up your time and before you knew it, another hour or day has gone by?

David is showing how much He needs God in that hour.

He says his flesh longs in a dry and thirsty land! He then shows us the intensity of it. What does he say? Where there is NO water.

But, there’s nothing there that will satisfy his thirst.

Where does he find God? In the sanctuary! That is symbolic of the place where we keep Him dear, hidden in our hearts.

That is where it all happens. We reach the point where we humbly seek Him with all our heart and let it all out before Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Things happen to us in life. Our hearts can become hard over time. And we may not hear or feel God’s presence in certain seasons.

But as we lay down the hard stuff that has taken its toll, He will be there to pick up the pieces and put them back together again.

Let us cry out today as David did. Our soul thirsts for You, Lord.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-1-26

Matthew 11:28 (LSB) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Life can be tough, even brutal at times.

Change is the only real constant.

Sometimes that change can send us reeling.

Other times it is not the change that gets us, but the ongoing battles that we face.

We can feel like our very life is getting sucked right out of us, literally.

We all face this at various times. No one is exempt.

And the things we face are vastly different from one person to another.

But the cure for our weariness and lack of hope is never different. It is the same regardless of who we are or what we’re facing.

And that cure is not a thing or a method. It is Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us.

God in the flesh, who walked among men here on earth in human skin, is the answer to our fears, our worries, our anxiety, our hopelessness, and our afflictions.

He will alleviate our fears, give us hope, carry our burdens, and heal our broken spirit.

All we have to do is trust Him. If we can do that, He will help us with the rest.

Will you trust Him today with your fears? Will you let Him give you rest from your weariness?

And will you let Him carry your burdens?

He’s ready and waiting.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-31-26

Romans 10:3 (NKJV) 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

We cannot earn salvation through our own actions. It has to be through God’s righteousness which comes through having faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

His righteousness is His way of justifying sinners. It is a gift to all mankind. It’s His Answer!

We cannot be declared righteous by following the law, doing good deeds, etc., no matter how hard we try.

It comes through faith, as we humbly surrender ourselves to Jesus Christ. Through the blood of Christ, His righteousness covers all our sins and sets us free…Praise be to God!

Romans 1:17 (NKJV) 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

In the book of Habakkuk, God saw the Babylonians as a proud people. But those who relied on Him for their life were considered upright and called “the just”.

Habakkuk 2:4 (NKJV) 4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

It’s by faith in Christ that we are made upright or just.

This is hard for some people to accept. And some will never leave it at that. They will work hard and try to do everything just right, but not accept what Christ did for us on the cross.

This is prideful in and of itself.

It takes a humble heart and being aware of the fact that there is no other way but through the blood of Jesus for a lost soul to be redeemed.

If we cannot reach that place within our heart, we are no more saved than the unbeliever.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Submit to the righteousness of God. We don’t work for it. We put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:4 (NKJV) 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-26

2 Corinthians 7:10 (LSB) 10 For godly sorrow produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world brings about death.

God put into place a plan for salvation. A method by which we can be redeemed from our sins.

His plan is flawless. His ways are perfect.

The only time His plan fails is when we fail to understand it or choose to follow only part of it.

So, in reality, it is not His plans that fail. It is our execution of those plans.

And this is why it is so important for us to fully understand God’s ways and His plans.

One of the areas in which man has failed is in fully understanding and walking out God’s plan for salvation.

We tend to pick and choose the parts that we like best; usually those parts that make it easier or less uncomfortable for us.

The verse above states very specifically that the type of sorrow that God desires us to experience and display leads to repentance, which then leads to salvation. But that the sorrow of the world brings death.

The truth in this verse is often twisted or altered by man, leaving out godly remorse and repentance as what leads to salvation.

The sorrow of the world has been inserted as a replacement for genuine godly sorrow.

This type of sorrow does not create remorse, nor does it lead to repentance and salvation. It brings about only a regret that our behavior has been discovered or exposed, not a turning of our heart toward God.

Partial truths avoid important pieces of the whole truth in an effort to conceal them, leading to deception.

Let us be sure to follow God’s truth in its fullness; not a partial truth that leads to worldly comfort and death.
