(Mark 10:46-50 NKJV)  Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. {47} And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” {48} Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” {49} So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” {50} And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

This group of verses is just one of many examples where someone was trying to get to Jesus, but they were being kept away by the crowds and by the people around Jesus.

No matter what the obstacles were that got in their way, they never gave up. They pushed through until they were able to access the Messiah and have their needs met.

How is it with us? Do we know that we need to come to Jesus, but we’re too timid to push through to reach Him? Or maybe we’re not willing to put forth whatever effort it requires to reach Him?

If we let things get in our way, we’ll never get what we need. We’ll never change. Our circumstances will never change. We’ll stay in the same old leaky boat, hoping we don’t sink.

I want to encourage you to push through today. You need something from Jesus. He wants to help you… He’s willing, but you’re not doing everything that needs to be done.

Don’t give up and don’t pull back. Keep reaching and exercising your faith. All you need is one touch from Jesus to heal you and deliver you.

(Rev 19:16 NKJV)  And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

There are many people who will try to cast doubt as to who Jesus really is.

Some will try to tell you that He was just another prophet. Another might try to tell you that He was the son of God, but nothing more… definitely not God in the flesh.

God’s word is full of reinforcements as to who Jesus really is. The verse above is just one of them.

King of Kings and Lord of Lords is a pretty strong description and leaves no doubts at all as to who Jesus is.

If anyone ever tries to convince you that Jesus was any less than whom God’s word says He is, walk away. You know better!

(John 14:26 NKJV)  “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

We are not alone in this world. God has given us someone to help us, guide us, and lead us down the right path.

Decisions come everyday, some big and some small, but nevertheless we have to make them. Sometimes we make them for ourselves and, depending on our position, we may have to make them for others.

The way to be completely guaranteed to do and say the right thing is to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. God assures us that the Holy Spirit will teach us.

Ask the Holy Spirit to come and be your Helper today. Give Him room to work and then watch things change in your life!!

(Rom 4:3 NKJV)  For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

Abraham believed God. And because he believed God, it caused him to be called righteous.

For the past couple of weeks, God has been talking to me over and over again about believing Him.

Not believing “in Him”, but believing Him. In other words, He has been teaching me more and more about believing Him when He speaks something. He wants me to believe Him when He shows me something. He wants me to believe Him when I see Him move.

Believing in God is the easy part. But He wants us to go beyond that and actually believe Him when he speaks to us. This is where our faith gets tested and stretched. This is where we go from lip service to real-life faith.

I want to challenge you today, to take a step toward a new dimension and new level of faith and start believing God in every area of your life. It’s time we put our faith into action and put action behind our faith.

(Eph 5:2 KJV)  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.

How does one walk in love?

Christ was our example. He loves each one of us so much that He gave Himself for us on the cross, for our sins, that we may be able to go to the Father and have a relationship with Him while we are here on earth.

He loves us so much that He took the stripes on His back so we would not have to suffer sickness or disease, that by His stripes He took we are healed.

Christ loves us so much that He made a way for us that when we die we can live eternally with Him in Heaven. He’s given us a home with Him!!

This shows us how we too should love. Yes, it can be painful sometimes and yes, it can be uncomfortable and not fair that we should have to suffer at times. But, what Christ did for us sets the stage; He sacrificed and suffered. Did He deserve this? NO…He
did it because of His love for us.

Love someone today.

(Deu 6:5 NKJV)  “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

As a believer, I know how I feel about God and where I stand with Him. He is everything to me. He comes first.

I don’t just think about the things of God or being a Christian, I live it every single day. It’s in me. It’s who I am.

I’ve met many pastors and ministers over the years who love God the same way I do. But I’ve also met many who just go through the motions and do what they do because it’s their job.

The same goes for anyone else calling themselves a Christian. There are so many who truly love God and live out their Christianity in what they say and what they do. And there are still so many others who are Christians by name, but there is no evidence in their lives to prove it. They just go through the motions and carry on an appearance.

God wants our whole heart, not just a piece of it. He wants us to dive in head first and give Him 100%. He wants us to do Christianity, not just think it.

Where are you today? Are you doing your faith or are you just carrying a label? Does the name “Christian” mean something or is it just a sticker that has been applied to you at some point in your life?

Let me assure you that we are not perfect. Being a pastor doesn’t mean that we never make mistakes. Sometimes we have bad days and things don’t go the way we think they should or the way we want them to.

But when God is first in our lives it puts things into perspective for us. It makes our lives very different than the lives of those who just go through the motions or those who don’t know God at all.

I invite you today to love God with abandon… to put Him first and give Him 100%. It will change your life if you let it.

(Rom 6:14-15 NKJV)  For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. {15} What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

Once we become saved by the blood of Jesus, sin should no longer have dominion over us. We should no longer be a slave to sin.

We still do, however, make mistakes which lead us into sin.

God’s grace allows us to be forgiven for any sins that we do happen to fall into, but it is not a license to sin!

As believers we need to be very careful that we never take God’s grace for granted and consider it a license to sin, just because we know that He will forgive us.

On the contrary, now that we have been made aware of sin, we should be even more conscious to steer clear of it.

As you go through your day today, watch your actions and listen to your words and see if there is room for you to make some changes. And if you do make a mistake, be sure to ask God to forgive you right away. And then move on and put it behind you!

(Acts 17:28 NKJV) “for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

Living without God is not living at all. It’s having Him in our hearts that makes life exciting.

God is a winner! He never loses. If we stand by Him and plant ourselves firmly on His Word and His teachings…WE win too!

God is all we need in this day; in Him we live and move and have our being! There is No other like HIM!!

Praise Him today, for you made the right choice. When you chose Him and His direction, You got the VICTORY!!

(Deu 4:39 NKJV) “Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.

What an AWESOME God we serve!! We are so blessed to have someone that cares for us and loves us so much!! I think that if we could fully understand the love that God has for us we would never worry about anything again.

He wants good things for us always. He doesn’t want to have to see us get hurt or make wrong decisions that may cause pain, either for us or for someone else.

Let’s make a decision today to go deeper and follow Him more closely than ever before, letting Him guide us and lead us, and even if we don’t understand everything that is happening around us, we can still trust that He understands and He will do good for us.

Hands off today and let God have control!!

(Mat 24:6 NKJV)  “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

So have you heard any rumors lately? Maybe you’ve heard rumors of wars. But maybe you’ve heard other rumors, like rumors of impending financial doom. I’m sure we’ll all be hearing many of those rumors during these next few days and weeks.

Rumors have always been around and they’re not going anywhere. They’ll be around until the end of time.

But our faith doesn’t lie in rumors. Our faith isn’t built on the shaky foundation of rumors. Our faith is in God and the salvation He provided through Jesus.

We are not slaves to the world systems and the world view on life. We have a different view… God’s view!

I want to encourage you today to be careful not to spend too much time absorbing too much of the negative news that’s all around us. It’s on TV and the radio. It’s coming out of the mouths of everyone who thinks they are even remotely important. It comes from those that you work with.

But theirs is not the final word. In fact, their word holds little value if it doesn’t line up with God’s word. It’s God’s word that matters. His word says that we are to trust Him and Him alone.

So stand strong in your faith and don’t let the news of so-called gloom and doom effect the way you live your life.

(Luke 4:41 NKJV)  And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” And He, rebuking them, did not allow them to speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.

The presence of Jesus preceded Him in every village and city He went into. Just the fact that He was there caused the demonic spirits to tremble.

Jesus took the time to lay hands on those who came to Him. All those who came to Him were healed and delivered. But take notice of what happened when the demons came out of the people he had cast them out of.

He did not allow them to speak.

Why? Because He was the Christ, the Chosen One… Immanuel, God with us. His presence commanded submission by those that were under Him.

As His body, with His spirit dwelling in us, we should also exercise this kind of authority when it comes to those things that He has given us authority over.

He has given us power to cast out demons and subdue them. We should be exercising our authority and wreaking havoc on the kingdom of darkness.

Don’t waste another day sitting on the sidelines and living a life of mediocrity and empathy. Do something about it.
