Bible Verse of The Day – 8-31-21

Matthew 9:28-29 (NKJV) 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

These two blind men needed healing. Jesus just asked a simple, but very profound question; “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

If Jesus were to ask us today regarding our own situation, what would be our answer?

They could have said, “well, let’s see how it goes and then we will answer you.”

No. These men knew He was able. Their faith in Jesus was at the point of receiving their healing. There was no doubt about it.

Are we believing by mouth alone? Are we mimicking someone else’s words that we’ve heard?

Or do we believe because the faith we have in our own heart knows that He is able?

You see, there are no coat-riding healings with Jesus. We have to have our own faith.

There may be times when our faith gets combined with the faith of others to get certain results. But if it’s for us, or our situation, we have to start the process by having faith at least the size of a mustard seed.

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

This is a very important question, and only we can answer it.

Many people can and will fake it. They know the talk.

They know how to put their hands up and praise God. They know the church lingo. But, none of that will work to get answers, deliverance, salvation, etc.

It’s according to our faith. Let it be done.

We must believe He is able to do what we are asking Him to do.

If we need God’s help to have more faith, ask Him and He will help us in our unbelief. But, don’t try to fake it. That won’t get us anywhere but disappointed. And it will turn us away from Him, thinking He doesn’t answer our prayers.

Mark 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

He will help us have the faith we need when we acknowledge that we need His help and we ask Him for it.

Have faith so He can deliver! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-30-21

1 Chronicles 22:8 (NKJV) 8 but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight.

God called David a man after His own heart.

Not only was David a man after God’s heart, though. He was also a man who took his walk with God very seriously. He put God above all else.

As David grew older in years, he felt a desire to build a temple; a place for God to dwell.

So, he set about gathering materials and other resources for that task.

But God stopped him in his tracks, telling him that he could not be the one to build the temple due to the fact that he had blood on his hands. He was a warrior who had killed many people.

He told David that Solomon, his son, would be the one to do this.

David accepted God’s choice. And instead of being upset and acting angrily about it, he spoke with Solomon and told him of this occurrence, and what God had told him.

In other words, he handled it like a mature man of God; a mature believer.

Despite being told that he would not be the one to build the temple, David continued to help and guide Solomon, making him aware of the enormity of the task, and the importance of it.

He also continued to gather materials and make all of the necessary arrangements for skilled laborers, and people to oversee the project to its completion.

It’s good for us to understand this, and to apply it to our own lives as children of God. We can learn from David and gain understanding as to how to handle situations in our own lives that may be similar in some ways.

God desires us to be mature children; people whose faith in Him is so great that we don’t let things like this throw us off and cause us to behave badly or in immature ways.

He wants us to be mature believers. So, let’s allow Him to mold us and shape us into just that.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-27-21

Matthew 10:16 (NKJV) 16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

When Jesus was preparing to send out His disciples, He told them many things that He felt were important. He told them where to go, where not to go, when to leave, how to act, who to interact with, etc.

He also warned them about some very specific things.

One of those things was the fact that some people would not be who they appeared to be. Those people would be wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Wolves, as Jesus confirmed, are ravenous and dangerous to the sheep.

And the most dangerous part is that they don’t come out looking like wolves. They appear as sheep, looking harmless. And this harmless appearance makes them even  more dangerous because they appear to be trustworthy.

We live in a world with lots of wolves. There are wolves in more places than most of us realize.

They are in our workplaces. They are in our schools. They are in our local places of business. They are in our families. And, yes, they are in our churches.

So, it’s important that we be aware of this and be watchful everywhere we go.

Our spiritual lives depend on it. Our walk with God depends on it. And our eternal destiny depends on it.

We need to learn to hear the Holy Spirit. We need to heed His warnings. And we need to take action with what He shows us.

This world has become more and more dangerous for us to walk through. But God has been faithful to give us everything we need in order to navigate it successfully.

Listen. Act. Trust God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-26-21

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We need this verse written on our hearts today. We are going to need to be very strong in the up-and-coming days. That is, stronger than we ever have known ourselves to be.

The good news is that God is for us!

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Believers, He is with us!

His Spirit is in us and He will guide us. The strength we will walk in will be more than our own strength alone.

It will be Him moving through our veins. We will have His courage to do things we never would have thought we’d have to do.

But know this; no matter where we go or end up, He goes with us. We are not alone. This is not our battle, but HIs. We are just walking it out alongside Him.

Why?

1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Because He loved us first, we love Him to the end and we will stand for Him.

Don’t be afraid of the things we see and hear these  days. It’s all part of what God has told us would take place. And only God knows the road ahead.

Stay strong and pray for one another. We stand united. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 pray without ceasing…

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-25-21

Luke 7:21 (NKJV) 21 And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight.

As I read this scripture today, it hit me that many people, including most Christians, overlook the large number of people that Jesus healed from evil spirits (demons) in His earthly ministry.

We hear quite frequently about people being healed of leprosy or other various ailments, or even being raised from the dead. But how often do people talk about Jesus “healing people from evil spirits”?

Not very often, right?

But as I read this verse above, the Holy Spirit showed me clearly that evil spirits are just as big a problem as physical sickness. But because people aren’t as apt to recognize an evil spirit as they are a medical sickness, they pass right over the topic, or even the person with the evil spirit.

Here’s a question for you. If Jesus spent as much time as He did healing people of evil spirits (casting out demons), wouldn’t it seem like it’s pretty important?

And wouldn’t it make sense that we need to do the same thing?

We are, after all, supposed to do what Jesus showed us to do.

So, let’s make sure we’re looking at more than the physical body. Let’s allow God to show us what we can’t see.

And as Jesus did, let’s start being the mighty warriors we have been called to be, not shrinking back at the thought of doing battle with evil spirits.

But instead, stepping on the neck of the enemy and crushing it beneath our feet.

Mark 16:17 (NKJV) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-24-21

Matthew 9:22 (NKJV) 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Jesus was following a man that had just asked Him to come and lay His hands on his daughter that had just died, so that she may live.

On His way to do so, along came a woman that had suffered a flow of blood for 12 years. She knew in her heart and said to herself, “if I could only touch HIs garment I would be made well”.

I love how Jesus said, “be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has made you well”.

Hallelujah and praises to His awesome name!! He called her daughter.

What a beautiful moment that must have been for her. I can’t even imagine what I would have done. But I can feel the overwhelming awesomeness of a little bit of what she might have felt.

Then, for her to receive her healing, after 12 years of dealing with her illness, wow, what a glorious day it was for her!

The thing that stood out to me the most was that He didn’t say, “because you touched My garment you have been made well”. He didn’t say, “because you are standing next to Me you have been made well”.

He said, “your FAITH has made you well!”

What I’m saying is that it is crucial for us to understand that no matter where we are today, or what we are going through or dealing with, it is by our faith we will be made whole.

Maybe we need a physical touch. Maybe our children or our marriage need healing. Maybe our finances need help. There are so many areas of our lives that might need to be “made whole”.

Whatever we are dealing with, say it with me, “by our FAITH we will be made well”!!

Thank you, Lord! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-23-21

Matthew 11:15 (NKJV) 15 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Through the various seasons in our lives, we might notice that certain characteristics and traits are more important than in other seasons.

The season we’re in right now demands razor-sharp discernment. It is 100% necessary if we hope to see and hear what God is saying and what is happening in the spiritual realm.

Part of having sharp discernment requires being able to hear what is not being said.

That may sound counter-intuitive or contradictory. But let me explain.

Most times, when it comes to spiritual warfare, and things of the spirit realm in general, many things can be very subtle and almost imperceptible to the natural mind and natural understanding.

This is why Jesus told us that we need to have ears to hear. He wants us to be able to hear those things that are not easily discerned; things that are clearly there to hear, but require looking and listening beyond what is plainly visible or audible.

How do we know that this is important? Because Jesus said it again in Revelation, as well as in other places in the 4 gospels.

In Revelation, He said again, very specifically, that we need to have ears to hear.

Revelation 3:22 (NKJV) 22 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

And do you know what else He said? He said that we need to be able to see.

Revelation 3:18 (NKJV) 18 …anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

So, you can see that it’s critical for us, as believers, to have heightened senses of spiritual sight and hearing.

And I will say directly, with no hesitation, that anyone lacking in these critical spiritual traits will have a very hard time discerning and understanding what’s really happening in the spiritual realm right now.

And this is why it’s so very important that we let God speak to us through His word each and every day, sharpening our spiritual eyes and ears, so we never miss what the Spirit is saying to us.

Let those who have ears, hear. And let those who have eyes, see.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-21-21

Psalm 119:114 (NKJV) 114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.

When I need direction, or when I need to pull myself together, where do I go? To prayer and to His word. That is my hiding place in Him.

When do I find Him? When I take the initiative and shut down everything that is pulling me away from Him.

I shut out the gossipers, the downers and the blood suckers. I shut down my phone and all the buzz that comes through it. I shut out anything that takes up my time.

Then I am sure to find Him. He is always waiting for me, ready to help.

I love how He meets me right where I am, and knows just what I need all the time.

If you are missing your hiding place and you are feeling pretty weighed down, He is waiting for you too. His arms are open.

Shut down the things that are keeping you from meeting with Him. Go and empty your bucket and get yourself refueled with His Amazing love, strength and joy!

His Word will carry us through anything that we are facing.

Exodus 33:14 (NKJV) 14 And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Amen.
