Bible Verse of The Day – 11-30-18

Matthew 5:5 (NKJV) 5  Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Listed below are many words that are the opposite of being meek. These are things to watch out for in our behavior, attitudes and our actions.

Arrogant, bumptious, conceited, egotistic (or egotistical), haughty, highfalutin (also hifalutin), high-and-mighty, high-handed, high-hat, hoity-toity, huffy, imperious, lordly, overweening, peremptory, pompous, presuming, presumptuous, pretentious, self-asserting, self-assertive, supercilious, superior, and uppity.

If we find ourselves acting out in any of these ways, it’s a good indication that we are not walking in the meekness that God has called believers to walk in.

No matter who we are or what position we hold, if we are God’s child, a believer, a Christian, etc., He wants us to learn to walk according to His word.

Many people may hear the word “meek” and immediately think of being weak. But walking in meekness takes discipline beyond what we could ever do on our own. Meekness is a strength that comes from our Lord.

Meekness stands tall and rises up on the inside of us in the hardest times. And with discipline, it does exactly what God leads us to do in that moment, in that very hour. Whether it’s to speak up, be still, step out in faith or hold back and wait till the appropriate time, being meek and humble is a requirement.

When we walk in such meekness, we will learn that having things our own way will not be an issue any longer. We will learn to restrain our tongue and our thoughts. We will learn not to act out of our emotions, but to be patient and wait for God’s understanding, wisdom and timing.

Meekness is a muscle that needs to be strengthened in all believers. And by doing so we shall see beautiful fruit from it.

Proverbs 15:23 (NKJV) 23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-29-18

Genesis 2:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Aside from the decision to follow Christ, choosing our husband or wife is the most important decision we will make in our lifetime.

When we unite with someone in marriage, we are making a commitment to that person, in the presence of God, to build a lifelong relationship with them. It is not something we should take lightly.

Before the marriage ever takes place, we need to be looking at our relationship in a way that goes beyond the rush of emotions we feel.

The “warm fuzzies” are nice, but they will not carry us through a lifetime of ups and downs. They will not carry us over the hurdles we will face as a husband and wife. They will not help us conquer the challenges that life throws at us.

Movies and books tend to portray love as something that is magical, fairytale-like, with glowing sunsets every evening, and wondrous bliss each morning as we wake up. However, real life is a bit different than that.

Yes, there will be beautiful sunsets observed together as husband and wife. There will be blissful moments that you will both cherish for years and years. There will be much joy over the years.

However, there will be challenges that we face too. Those challenges will require 100% effort on the part of both people if we truly want to overcome them and keep our relationship strong.

Some of life’s challenges will feel like they are bent on destroying our marriage, giving us a feeling of hopelessness if we let them. But we never, ever have to let them!

A marriage built with God as its foundation will be strong, will flourish and last a lifetime. Storms will come, but the relationship will last because we built it on the Rock.

Matthew 7:24-25  (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-28-18

Psalm 118:23 (NKJV) 23 This was the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.

I love when I’m just going along throughout my day and I notice something happen that I know was by God’s hand alone. It’s so special to me to know that we have Someone that is constantly concerned about our well-being. Even in the littlest ways, He will show up and remind us that we are not alone.

Taking notice of the little things that the Lord does for each one of us will help us in our faith walk. It will cause us to draw even closer to Him. Not just because of what He does for us, but because we can see the love and concern He has for us.

This will make us want to open up and share more of our personal things with Him, because we see He is listening and watching. When we notice the things that He does, it helps us to trust Him more. And we feel more at peace.

What are we seeing the Lord do before us today? Are our eyes open and alert to Him? Things don’t just happen by coincidence when we are His child. We are covered.

Psalm 17:8 (NKJV) 8 Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-27-18

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God’s word is absolute. It’s the building blocks upon which our faith sits.

His word is truth; absolute truth. We either believe it in its entirety, or not at all.

Sadly, some people like to “cherry pick” the word of God. They believe some things, but not others. They follow parts of it, but not all of it.

As children of God, we have never been given His permission to be selective in our believing. He has not told us that it’s OK to believe one scripture while rejecting another. It’s all or nothing.

This has led to a dilution, a “watering down” of the Word that renders it weak and ineffective in many ways.

Adultery is no longer sinful in the eyes of some. Fornication is OK under certain circumstances. Stealing is OK if it meets certain conditions. Gossip is acceptable if its intentions are “good”. And the list could go on.

But it’s time for the body of Christ to take a stand. God’s word was not written for us to decide which parts we like and don’t like.

We need to make sure that we are not submitting ourselves to anything less than the whole word of God.

If we are under leadership that blatantly disregards parts of His word, we need to make a choice. We either hold them accountable for their error or place ourselves under different leadership that will speak God’s word without compromise.

Let’s be honest. Error will always be taught somewhere, by someone. It’s a fact of life. But that doesn’t mean that we have to condone it or sit idly by and do nothing about it.

The signs of the times include such things. Selective teaching. Selective hearing. Itching ears.

2 Timothy 4:3-8 (NKJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things…

Let us not be people with itching ears.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-26-18

Psalm 34:18 (NKJV) 18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Have we ever had something happen to us that causes our heart to ache? We feel sad from what has happened or the way things turned out.

We can be real with God, because He already knows about it.

A broken heart is no joke. It is real pain and we have to let God repair it, or it can affect us in a negative way.

We don’t want to ever lose hope because of what we went through or what we saw happen. We need to keep trusting God, for He can help in such sensitive and personal situations.

If we are feeling the effect of a broken heart, know that God is near and He is willing to do whatever it takes to bring healing.

How long it will take is different for all of us. Don’t feel like we have to rush it or think there is something wrong with us because it is taking so long.

We will have good moments, and then other times it may be completely different and the memories may be very strong. We need to take the time needed for a complete recovery.

Reading God’s word will help to get our mind off of the painful thoughts and give us encouragement.

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-25-18 – Standing Firm On The Word

Please click to watch the video nowGreetings!

God’s word is the foundation that our faith is built on. It is true and unchanging. And it is what we should stand firm on in our walk with God. Our newest video discusses this topic.

In today’s world, it has become popular to pick and choose what we want to believe and what we want to discount as irrelevant or old-fashioned. But, God has not told us to do this.

It’s important that we stay close to God and accept His word in its entirety as the foundation and the guide for our lives.

Please click here to watch it now.

Enjoy your day.

Sincerely in Christ

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-24-18

Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Don’t be fearful about the decision you need to make. Don’t be hard on yourself today. God will give us the understanding and wisdom we need to make the right decision.

We can be our own worst critics at times. Knowing this, we have to save ourselves from our own judgment, critical comments and the thoughts we have against ourselves.

We don’t need an enemy because sometimes we can be our own worst one.

It’s time to stop beating ourselves up and let God show us how to balance it out. We need to know who we are in Christ.

Yes, we can make mistakes. And there is no doubt that we do. But God knows what to do to help us fix them and to help us learn from them.

We are not bad people just because we make some poor choices occasionally. It’s all part of learning what to do and not to do.

Are we going to stay down and out today? Or are we going to get up and try to get it right with God’s understanding, strength and wisdom?

We stand in prayer with you all today, and we know you can do this. Amen.

Exodus 31:3 (NKJV) 3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship…

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-23-18

John 6:35 (NKJV) 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Life in Christ is good. He is our everything!

He will satisfy our hunger. He will bring us answers. There is so much peace and joy in His Word. His promises are true. He brings a fulfillment that nothing else in this world can compare to.

Will our life be perfect and will everything go right all the time? No, not necessarily in the way we think it should go.

Life is not a fairy tale. We can’t always paint a pretty picture when things are not pretty. But if we live life through Christ, we will be satisfied at any stage we are in. He will have the answer and the way for us to follow.

His answer, His understanding, His compassion, mercy, forgiveness and most importantly His LOVE, will meet us right where we are at, even in our darkest hour.

Hallelujah… He is our bread of life.

If we go to Him, He will take care of us, help us make the changes we need to make, and we will stand strong! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-22-18

1 Peter 2:15-16 (NKJV) 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— 16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.

When we serve God in the way He has called us to do, taking steps of wisdom instead of letting our emotions take over, we shut down the undercurrent of foolishness that the enemy may be trying to draw us in to.

When we resist the wrong and stay steadfast in what is right, we silence the ignorance and foolishness of man.

It may seem like nothing is happening in the natural, but we can’t let that fool us. We don’t walk in the natural. We walk in the Spirit.

God will show us and give us wisdom as to how to respond in every situation. When we line up with the will of God, much is accomplished.

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-21-18

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

A short while back, we were heading home from an appointment. We decided to take the scenic route and just enjoy the sights.

The trees were starting to pop, as leaves were changing color and the smells of fall were all around us. The road we were on was full of twists and turns. We passed fields, ponds and a horseshoe-shaped waterfall. The view was absolutely beautiful!

We don’t normally take the back roads. But this was one of those days when we did something a little different than the norm.

Sometimes it’s nice to just do something on the spur of the moment; something spontaneous.

We can all get pretty routine-oriented at times, doing the same exact thing every day, going the same route, and sticking to the same schedule.

I wonder at times what we may be missing out on by doing the same things over and over again.

Changing things up a bit allowed us to see some wonderful sights. God is good!

We can only imagine our heavenly Daddy smiling down as He watched and heard our excitement over His creation. “Oh, look at that and look over here! Wow, look at that color.” We were like little kids seeing it for the first time.

Have fun today. Look around and take in God’s beauty. Mix things up a little and enjoy the blessings from our Heavenly Father!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-20-18

John 6:51 (NKJV) 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

What a beautiful love story this is.

Jesus was born to set us free. He came down from Heaven and was born to a virgin named Mary, through the Holy Spirit. His life had purpose from the very start. He came for you and me.

Everything He did was for us, as He followed the leading of His Father in heaven. All He wanted to do was bring Glory to His Father and give us everlasting life.

He gave His all. But, He gave it willingly. It was not taken from Him.

If we don’t have a personal relationship with the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who came from heaven to give us life more abundantly, then today is the day to say yes to Him.

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Believe in Who He says He is, and what He has done for us. Repent of our sins and receive the life He has for us. Live it, walk it out and let Him be our Savior!

He is waiting.

Dear God in heaven,

Thank you for sending me life through your Son, Jesus Christ. Forgive me of my wrongdoings, mistakes and the heartache I have caused You at times by the choices I have made. I am truly sorry and want to live my life learning this walk You have for me.

I give you my heart today. Take me and change me. Transform me into the person You want me to be. I want to be Yours. And You be mine.

In Jesus’ name I ask. Amen
