Bible Verse of The Day – 6-30-16

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Jesus came to give us life. As part of that, He wants us to bring our burdens and our heaviness to Him and give them to Him.

Most of us tend to carry way too many things on our shoulders for way too long. We have a tendency to think we need to fix everything ourselves.

Yes, there are things we need to do, but many things are beyond our control. And those are the things we need to lay at the cross and give to God.

There are many things that can weigh us down. Emotional wounds are one of them. Maybe someone has hurt us at some point in our past and we’re carrying those wounds with us. Those types of things can weigh us down for years, if we let them.

As a child of God, we need to learn to let God show us how to handle them. We need to give them to Him and let Him show us how to forgive and then let Him help us heal.

This isn’t always an easy process, but if we take the first step to get it started, we will be much better off. God has a way of healing things that we could never figure out ourselves. And He doesn’t just put bandages on our wounds. He fixes them the right way!

And when everything is said and done, that burden is lifted from us and we can move on with our life, minus the burden that we’ve been carrying.

So go to Him today. Give it to Him. Lay it down and let Him teach you how to let it go. And ask Him to help you forgive those who have hurt you. And then take one day at a time as you let Him help you with this.

Go ahead. Let Him give you rest.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-16

Matthew 7:12 (NKJV) 12 “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

This verse will help us to learn discipline. It will teach us a very important lesson. Because it doesn’t say only do this to men that are treating us right.

It’s easy to do good things to those who are kind to us. But we all know that there are those who will come along and get us going and strike a nerve, causing our emotions and feelings to want to react.

Learning how to treat others the way we want to be treated, instead of the way they are treating us, causes us to cross over into an area where we put ourself, our emotions and our feelings aside to do what is good and what is right, no matter how we are being treated.

This is what makes people take a second look and say, “there is something different about them”. This is when they see God’s light, His love and His discipline in us.

Know that God will help us with these tough cases, to do what is right, as long as we don’t react out of our emotions and feelings. Instead, we need to stay calm and let Him guide our hearts in treating them how we would want to be treated.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-28-16

2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NKJV) 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

God put His seed in Mary, a virgin. And that seed became our Messiah and He brought salvation to this world.

It was a seed sown in a virgin, a miraculous work indeed!

Jesus Christ, our Lord was birthed, the Son of the MOST high God, Who is our way, our truth and our life.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

We can not get to our heavenly Father unless we believe in His Son first.

Jesus Christ lived with us, a pure, righteous and holy life and He became a living sacrifice for each one of us. By choice, He took on the most cruel death, the cross, so that we may be free from sin and have life, and life more abundantly!

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

In the verse above, “they” that Jesus is referring to are those who believe and put their faith in Him as their Lord and Savior.

His love, protection and guidance is greater than any man would ever have toward us. He deserves our praise and worship today.

Take some time, lift Him up in our hearts, thanking Him and giving Him the GLORY that He so deserves!

He is FAITHFUL!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-27-16

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Have peace. Be of good cheer.

These very words were spoken by Jesus Himself, telling us that we can rest in Him, no matter what’s going on in our lives.

It’s important that we stay joyful in our lives, not letting the things of the world and the trials we face bring us down and cause us to be depressed or disappointed.

Life will throw stuff at us that can sometimes be pretty difficult to handle. And sometimes it can try to pull us off the path that God has set us on. It can play games with our minds, causing us to get distracted. And when we get distracted, we can become weak in our faith.

But Jesus promised us that He will give us rest when we’re tired, weary and heavy with the burdens of life. We don’t have to walk around feeling defeated and beaten down.

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Letting Him carry our burdens isn’t always the easiest thing to do, but once we hand them over to Him, our lives change for the better, since we’re no longer weighed down with cares and worries.

It can take some time for us to get used to the idea of handing our troubles over to Him, but once we get the hang of it, it gets easier and easier. And when we begin doing this on a regular basis, we will feel so much freer and more joyful than we have ever felt in our lives.

So let Him give you peace, and be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-16

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

There are many things that vie for our time and attention.

As a follower of Christ, our walk with God should always come first. Everything we do should revolve around our relationship with God. The choices we make, the things we do, the things we spend our time on and the thoughts we think should all have God right smack in the center of them.

God should be the center of each and every life decision we make. But sometimes we can get a bit off kilter. If we’re not careful, we can get busy with too many things and before we know it, we’ve pushed God aside in favor of other things.

This doesn’t usually happen intentionally. It just sort of creeps up on us.

Where our priorities are at will dictate how our life goes. When God is first in our life, everything else about our life will be in its proper place. We will have peace and joy, no matter what we face.

This doesn’t mean that we will live a perfect life, free of problems and trials. It means that as we face those things that come against us, we will have His peace to walk us through them.

And it means that our relationship with Him will stay strong, giving us a firm foundation to build our life on.

And, as part of that strong walk with God, our mind will be filled with thoughts that are edifying and pleasing to Him.

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-16

Matthew 22:37 (NKJV) 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Men or women after God’s heart will not always be perfect in the things that they do. But they will be willing to try and fix things when they go wrong, or work toward trying to make things right. They will be protective, loving and kindhearted.

So many women and men are looking for a spouse. And so many times they have tried to find the “right” person through dating, etc.

They have been hurt and pulled down by many. There has been pain and sorrow brought upon them instead of friendship and love.

God has a man for those women and He has a woman for those men today and they will be good to you and good for you. And together you will walk hand in hand in oneness with God. As you wait, He will bring them.

When our daughters were younger, God laid it upon our hearts to pray for the man that He had for each of them. We began praying for the girls and for the one God had for them. As time went by they had different friends that would come into their lives, and we would ask God each time “is this the one?”.

God would let us know right away and we would have to sit them down and tell them, he’s not the one.

After a while, our daughters got upset and thought that every time they had someone come, we would say “nope, he’s not the one”. And they’d be asking us “WHY?”.

But the day came when the man hand picked by God came. We knew, and they knew it too. God said “this is the one”.

Ladies and Men, you want a God-given spouse. A best friend and someone that will stay with you to the end. Someone who will be good for you and you for them. Let Him pick your spouse today. Wait on His choice and don’t settle for anyone else but the one He knows will be the right one for you.

Pray, wait and believe that your life will be awesome with God’s choice. Together you will grow as one and your love will remain steadfast and strong, until death do you part.

Mark 10:8 (NKJV) 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-16

Matthew 13:15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,

When something or someone has grown dull toward anything it means they are not excited about it and have lost interest in it.

This can happen to anyone if we don’t keep ourselves in the word of God. We can grow dull in our hearts toward Him. Our ears will grow hard of hearing and our eyes will close to His word. And the things He wants to show us and do with us will be far from us.

Staying in communication with God is what keeps us walking by His Spirit versus doing whatever we want, whenever we want.

The flesh will pull us in a hundred different directions. And of course, as it is with everything that the flesh likes to do, it’s up to us to say NO and crucify it and its cravings.

Galatians 5:24 (NKJV) 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-22-16

Matthew 13:58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

The He that they are referring to in this verse is Jesus. Because of their unbelief, Jesus did not do mighty works there in that area.

It’s important that we understand that unbelief will cause us to miss out on seeing mighty works done, in the church, in our homes, in our lives and in our town. Unbelief will hold back the mighty works of Jesus Christ.

Mighty works come, and change happens when we believe Jesus for them. We can’t do them on our own.

A Pastor, Priest, Evangelist, etc. can not do them on their own and we can not talk ourselves into making it happen.

Jesus Christ needed the people to believe if they wanted to see mighty works done.

If we are in need today of a mighty work of God, whether in our own lives, or maybe others we see around us, but we are struggling with unbelief, ask God for help.

Mark 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

He is willing to help us. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-21-16

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

As many as received Him, He gave the right to become children of God!

Wow! What an awesome statement from God’s word.

This particular verse lays everything out, in black and white, making it very clear that if we embrace Him, put our faith in Him, receive Him, we will become His children. It also makes it very clear that if we deny Him, reject Him or choose not to put our faith in Him, we are clearly not His children.

In today’s world, political correctness has led many people astray, causing them to say that there might be more than one way to the Father, to eternal life with Him. But this one verse lays all debates to rest on this issue.

If we believe, we are His children. If we don’t, we are not. Very plain and very straight forward.

We are born as children, but not as children of God.

So if you ever feel confused or have any doubts that being a child of God requires action on our part, remember this verse.

And if you have never put your faith and trust in God, don’t wait any longer. Do it today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-16

Proverbs 14:30 (NKJV) 30 A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.

What does it mean when it says something is sound?

It means – in good condition: solid and strong: in good health: free from mistakes: showing good judgment.

To get our heart in this sound, good, solid and strong condition, we need God and His word to help guide us and direct our steps. We need to have a tight relationship with Him, not just a casual relationship.

There are things in this life that the devil can throw at us at times that can literally cause us to be rotten to the bone. One of them is envy.

We need to be alert and aware of these tactics that he will use. We need to make sure we are not lining up with him and his plan.

Check our hearts today and ask ourselves if we are envying anyone. Do we despise someone because they have something we don’t? Do we treat anyone in particular differently, because we’re jealous of them?

Spend some time and ask God if there is anyone that we envy and if He shows us, simply repent and ask Him to deliver us and heal our hearts, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

We want a sound heart, a heart after God’s heart.

Hebrews 8:10(NKJV) 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

We will be His people and He will be our God! Amen.
