Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-14

Psalm 91:1 (NKJV) 91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

There is safety when we abide in the presence of the Lord. We can’t let the things that are going on around us cause us to be fearful. But instead, let us go to the Almighty.

He is our Secret Place. He is our Healer! Our Deliverer! Our Savior!

He waits for us to come to Him each day! It’s in Him we live and MOVE and have our being.

Acts 17:28 (NKJV) 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

Those that believe in Him, trust Him and follow Him are His offspring. We have everything we need to be happy, content and SAFE, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! Pick up our heads today. It’s NOT over.

Psalm 24:1 (NKJV) 24 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

Love in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-30-14

Acts 20:35 (NKJV) 35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Giving.

It’s something that some of us do more readily and freely than others. But it’s something that God has told us all to do.

It’s funny that you’ll find many times that those with the most give the least and those with the least give the most. This isn’t always the case, but it happens a lot.

1 John 3:17 (NKJV) 17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

We’d like to encourage everyone today to give. If you’re not tithing, today is the day to start.

If you’re already tithing, ask God where to sow an offering.

And remember that giving is what opens the doors to receiving.

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-29-14

Deuteronomy 11:13-14 (NKJV) 13 ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.

Loving God is not hard to do. Look at who He is, how much He loves us, and what He has done for you and me!!

He gives us Salvation. He provides healing for us. He gives us Deliverance. He stands beside us and with us in times of tribulation, and walks us through the most difficult times in life.

Loving God with all our hearts is shown by simply obeying and serving Him, one day at a time. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-28-14

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

What are you worrying about today?

Is it your budget and your finances? Is it your loved ones who are lost or have strayed from God? Is it your bills that are past due, as they pile up and the bill collectors call relentlessly?

Maybe it’s none of these, or maybe it’s all of them and others that we didn’t mention. It really doesn’t matter which of them it might be. It doesn’t matter whether it’s something “small” or not, we tend to worry about so many things in life.

Sometimes it seems like we spend more time worrying than not worrying. But God wants us to trust Him  with everything, even when those things seem impossible to overcome.

Trials and tough times test us and show us who we are and where our faith lies. When hard times come, do we immediately start trying to figure it all out and sort out the details of how we’re going to fix the problem?

Or do we give God room to move in our situation, resting in Him and doing only those things that He shows us to do? It’s hard to do this at first, but as we let God grow our faith, it becomes easier and easier to lean on Him and trust Him.

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-27-14

Numbers 13:30 (NKJV) 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”

As the Israelites approached the land of promise, Moses sent 12 men to spy out the land. They were to report back to him about the lay of the land and the agriculture.

As the men entered the land and beheld it, they saw great crops and a land of beauty, teeming with everything God had promised them.

However, they also saw men of great stature… giants. And suddenly 10 of the 12 men lost their faith.

Despite seeing all of the good things, and they fact that they brought back huge clusters of grapes that required two men to carry them, those 10 men brought back a negative report and told Moses and the people of Israel that entering the land and conquering the Canaanites was impossible.

Only Joshua and Caleb believed God. And in the end, Joshua and Caleb were the only men of that generation to be able to enter into the promised land.

So, today, as we face our giants, and we stand on the border, looking out at the things that God has promised us, who’s report will we believe? Will we see the large fruits and the goodness that God spoke about?

Or will we focus only on the giants that inhabit the land, letting them intimidate us and deter us from claiming what God promised us?

It’s up to us. Only we can decide.

If God has truly promised us something, and we’re sure that it’s not just something that we want, then we need to stop doubting and start believing what God has told us, end enter into that promise.

If God be for us, who can be against us?

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-25-14

Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV) 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

We are not meant to be alone, and we are not meant to try to do everything by our own strength.

God created us as a body, the body of Christ, because He wants us to help each other, encourage each other, lift each other up, exhort each other, correct each other, strengthen each other and love each other.

Nowhere in God’s word does He ever tell us to try to bear life’s pressures on our own. We are to look to Him and lean on each other.

This means that we need to spend time with each other, whether just a couple of us or dozens of us at a time. We are told not to forsake the assembling together of ourselves.

Now, we know that this scripture is used frequently to encourage people to “go to church” each week. But it’s really about way more than that.

These words were written to remind us that we need each other and that it’s good for us to spend time with fellow believers in an atmosphere where we draw strength from each other.

So make sure you’re not trying to “go it alone” or push through your trials alone. Nobody can handle everything that comes their way alone. We need each other.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-24-14

Matthew 9:37 (NKJV) 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

The harvest is plentiful. It’s ripe and ready.

The world has never been as corrupt and vile as it is now. It’s possible that there are areas of the world that are even more corrupt than Sodom and Gomorrah was when God destroyed it.

That might make it seem like it would be harder to harvest, but in reality it means that people are searching. In many cases they don’t really even know what they’re searching for, but they are searching nonetheless.

The question now is “are we offering them hope in Jesus?”.

We can offer them lots of other things; good music, fancy church buildings, nice-sounding clichés and a lot of other things that look good on the surface, and might even make them feel better for a little while.

But will these things lead them to Jesus? Will they cause them to see their lost condition and recognize their need for a Savior?

As the body of Christ, we need to make sure we’re pointing people to the source of life. It’s our obligation and our duty.

It’s easy to give them the other things mentioned above because they might make them feel better for a time. Ultimately, though, we need to be sure that everything we do is with the end goal of leading them to eternal life in Christ.

Are we doing this? Are we prepared to reap in this massive harvest of souls? Let’s make sure we are. And if we’re not, it’s never too late to start!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-23-14

Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV) 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…

God has a race for each one of us to run.

It’s not a race we run by ourselves. He sent us a Helper, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help us at all times, if we let Him.

He will prompt us at times, warn us at times, comfort us and make sure we are doing the right thing and making the right decisions. He knows everything we need to know to get us to that finish line.

The one thing we must do when running God’s race is to stay the course, no matter what it feels like, no matter what it looks like and no matter how long it takes. Stay the course.

Why do some of us feel like we never reach that finish line? Most of the time it’s because we don’t stay the course. Either we get tired, we get bored, or maybe we get scared, etc.

Whatever the reason is, it’s because we step off the course that God has for us, maybe to see if there is an easier way or quicker route.

God says to stay the course…don’t try to make it happen quicker. Don’t try to find an easier way.

Run with endurance and finish the race. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-22-14

Matthew 25:23 (NKJV) 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

So many of us wrestle with this. The problem is that we don’t know we’re wrestling with it. Let me explain.

Most of us ask God for more; more money, more friends, a better job, a bigger house, better relationships, etc. We all do this at one time or another. And I would dare to say that some of us do this every day.

This, in and of itself, isn’t necessarily wrong, but we need to understand one important thing. If we aren’t diligent with what we already have, we can’t handle anything bigger than that. And as long as we can’t handle it, we’re really not justified in asking for more, no matter what it is.

God wants us to learn how to handle what we have so that when we do get more, we won’t destroy it or destroy ourselves. All too often people push and push until they get what it is they’re seeking, and because they weren’t ready for the increase, it doesn’t last.

Money gets spent foolishly. Relationships are handled carelessly and fall apart. Material possessions aren’t cared for and become in a state of disrepair. A new job comes to us and we act irresponsibly, behaving poorly and getting fired or earning a bad reputation. In the end, it’s all wasted.

But if we show ourselves diligent with what we already have, then God can see fit to give us more, knowing that we will act responsibly and handle it properly, giving it the care it deserves.

It all starts with the little things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-21-14

Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

As I was praying this morning, I heard God speak to me on the issue of fear. He said to me that if I would learn to fear Him more than anything else in this world, then I would do whatever He wants me do and in the way He wants it done, without hesitation, distractions and hindrances.

Fearing other things more than God will keep us at a standstill in our life or in our walk with Him. It can put a stumbling block between us and Him. It can turn the direction of our path away from Him, instead of toward Him.

God is with us always. He never leaves us.

So why are we afraid of everything, but Him? Why does He feel our trembling, at times, over things that He has already overcome?

If we need strength today, we need to draw from His strength.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV) 6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

A lot of times when we feel confident, it’s usually because we’ve been there and done it before. But that confidence in only ourselves and what we know to work, is limiting us.

Don’t be afraid of the situation you are in or the direction God is steering you into, just because it is not familiar to you. Be fearful only of Him.

The more we fear Him, the more doors will open up to us, the greater things we will see, the more exciting and fulfilling our life will become because God will reveal Himself to us.

Fearing God is the beginning of knowledge.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-20-14

Exodus 4:12 (NKJV) 12 Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”

Have you ever been afraid to say something you know needs to be said?

I have, many times. Sometimes I am so scared, I would literally feel my heart start thumping and/or my legs start to tremble.

In spite of my fear of speaking out at times, I have learned that if it is something God wants us to say or do, we need to take the step, afraid or not, and God will be with us and teach us what to say.

Sometimes when we speak out, it may seem like we should have held our tongue and kept silent, because of the reaction we get. But if it was truly of God, He will work it all out in His timing.

With His wisdom, it will all be good! Amen.
