Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-20

James 1:12 (NKJV) 12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Did you know that if we endure trials, God says we are blessed?

This is an interesting statement.

Before we dig into this a little deeper, though, I have to admit that I was not intending to write another devotional about trials. The Coronavirus pandemic is already wreaking havoc in a way that has most people on edge, and most of us are probably tired of hearing about it and talking about it by now.

Nonetheless, God directed me to this scripture as I sat down to write, so it’s best that we proceed and see what it is that He wants us to learn from it!

Despite the fact that the English translation above uses the word “temptation”, the Greek word is actually better translated as “trials”.

So, we are blessed when we successfully endure trials.

Really? Let’s be honest here. Trials never feel much like we are being blessed, do they?

But if we step back and look at the big picture, as God likes us to do so often, it’s not the trial itself that is the blessing so much as what we gain from enduring the trial.

Enduring a trial means that we do whatever is necessary to come through it, not only with victory in our situation, but with our faith still wholly intact, looking fully to God for that victory.

To say that we are blessed means that we are happy. Coming through that trial is definitely something to be happy about. And as we have let God lead us through it, our happiness is more than just a fleshly, fleeting emotion that quickly disappears.

Oh, and the Word also says that if we endure, we are approved, literally meaning that we have passed the test.

Now, how cool is it that even these seemingly-ugly trials that come along hold something good for us?

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-20 – The Prodigal Bride – Part 1

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings!

We pray that you are well and safe during the current crisis that we have all been dealing with.

Today’s video has nothing to do with the virus. It does, however, have everything to do with the bride of Christ.

In this new video, The Prodigal Bride (Part 1), we discuss some of the ways that the church has walked away from God, trading Him in for many other things.

We think you’ll find this video informative and interesting, and we hope you’ll take the time to watch it because the things we discuss are present in the global body, not just in a select few.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-28-20

Psalm 31:15 (NKJV) 15 My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.

Do we feel like we have been persecuted by people that can’t stand us, even though we never did a thing to them?

Yet, they have an agenda to make us miserable. They would love to see us fall, fail and be totally miserable, just like them. They would love to see us lose everything we ever worked hard for.

As a matter a fact, they probably would love to have what we have, but they won’t ever say it or admit.

The good news is this; God will deliver us from their hands.

He will keep us safe. They will not overpower us or take from us what God has blessed us with. They will try, but God is greater and will deliver us from their hands.

Don’t let our guard down. Know who our persecutors are, walking in wisdom and discernment when we are around them.

It’s hard to know what their agenda is at times, but God will show us the root of it and how to shut it down as He gives us His wisdom.

James 1:5 (NKJV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-20

Romans 2:13 (NKJV) 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified…

We can’t just hear God’s word, believe it and be done. But rather, believe and then take action.

We have to continue to move in it. It becomes our life and breath.

When we take action, and we are doers of the law (His word), we will be justified, meaning we are made righteous in the sight of God.

James 1:25 (NKJV) 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

When we remember the things God says to do through His word, and we apply it and keep walking it out every day, we are blessed…Hallelujah!

God’s word is the perfect law of liberty.

What does liberty mean? It is the state of being free.

If we don’t put to action His law, His very words, we are deceiving ourselves.

James 1:22 (NKJV) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Don’t stop at just hearing His word. But start to take action. Learn to live in it and walk it out. Let it be the breath that keeps us alive and moving forward. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-20

John 14:27 (NKJV) 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

As we have walked through the last week or two, this verse can really speak to us.

Most of us go from day to day with no major fears to dominate our thoughts or our cares. Yes, we each have troubles of one kind or another, but most of them are less than major or life-altering.

As we have watched the recent scare due to the virus that has made its way around most of the globe, it has been a good time to reflect on a lot of things.

On a personal level, I have mourned the state of humanity, as I have watched the vast majority of people become veritable monsters, as they hoard supplies with no concern or regard for fellow human beings, leaving those who are considerate of others with empty hands as they have sought after the necessities of life, such as food, common household and medical supplies.

It is this kind of behavior that confirms the fact that the world, by and large, has rejected God, and therefore has no peace and no respect for God or any kind of earthly authority.

As we follow our Savior from day to day, it is times like these when we begin to examine ourselves and see where we draw our strength and our peace from. The way we handle ourselves in circumstances like this will show us a lot about ourselves.

Where does our trust lie? Where do we get our peace of mind from? Who gives us what we need when the world fails us?

These are some pretty deep questions. And if we’re honest with our answers, they can be pretty sobering, at the very least.

But as we ponder on these things, let’s remember that there is One we draw our strength and peace from. He will never, ever let us down.

And I am persuaded that He is able to sustain me and keep me, through all things, even when my natural eyes, my mind and the world around me might try to tell me otherwise.

2 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV) 12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-24-20

Mark 11:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Prayer is powerful if we have the faith to back it up. All we need to have is faith the size of a mustard seed, which is tiny. But we all have it.

We have to let it go to work for us. Believe, and it will grow, and grow, and grow. It will grow as much as we believe for.

God is faithful to help us by taking the faith we have in Him and giving us opportunities to watch and see for ourselves what He can and will do.

If we can’t believe Him for it, it won’t happen.

Sometimes we can believe Him for it and it won’t happen either. Why? Because it was not the right answer for the problem. God is not going to pass something through if it’s going to bring destruction, or if it will hurt those that belong to Him.

His love will protect us from harm.

And believe me, the things we ask for sometimes, if they were to have gone through, ouch. We would have been in a heap of trouble.

We need to thank Him for protecting us from these things by not answering sometimes.

He is good!

Have faith and believe Him for the things He puts in our hearts to ask for. They shall come in the perfect timing. Amen.

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Dear God,

We are grateful that the things we asked for, but we did not receive, was the right answer for us. Even though we do not always understand it, we appreciate it and are thankful because You only do what is good for us. You know what is best.

Now, for the things that You have laid upon our hearts and know that is what we will need, we lift those requests up to You and believe that You will take care of it. It’s in Your hands. Please show us our part that we need to play. Help us to follow You and not to try to take the lead when things begin to change and the answer begins to come.

We love you and thank you for Your faithfulness. Continue to help us in our unbelief.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-23-20

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

As God works to shape us and mold us, He has one expectation; that we allow Him to teach us how to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to Him.

Now, that might sound kind of odd to our human ears. It may even seem extreme to some people. But It’s a truth that is the foundation of our walk with God, in the sense that He wants our all, 100% of our hearts, not just a piece or a fragment.

In the days of the Old Testament, animals were sacrificed as a type of worship to God. But since we are now living under the new covenant, and God has done away with animal sacrifices, He now asks us to present ourselves (our lives) as living sacrifices to Him.

God isn’t interested in lip service. And He isn’t interested in halfhearted attempts to appease Him by us going through the motions, so to speak.

Don’t mistake this as God pressuring us into something we don’t want. He doesn’t push us into anything at all, ever.

He does desire, though, that we love Him with our whole heart. And with that kind of love, it’s only logical that we would be willing to surrender ourselves to Him entirely. After all, Jesus gave His whole self for us, so why wouldn’t we also be willing to do the same for Him.

And speaking of logic, the Greek word used for reasonable, in the verse above, is the same word that means logic in Greek, inferring that it is only logical for us to give our bodies as living sacrifices.

That’s a pretty sobering thought, isn’t it?

Let’s ponder on this. Let it get into your heart. If God says it’s our reasonable service, then it must be pretty important to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-20 – The Veil Has Been Torn

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope you are walking in God’s love, mercy and forgiveness daily.

Our newest video, The Veil Has Been Torn, discusses the direct access that we have been given to God, by way of the veil of the temple being torn in two when Jesus breathed His last breath.

The veil being torn from top to bottom is one of the most significant events of the New Covenant.

So, it’s critical that we, as believers, understand that significance and what it means for us.

We hope you will take a few minutes to watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-21-20

Luke 23:34 (NKJV) 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

It’s hard to grasp this level of forgiveness.

We may ask today if we have to forgive people that have hurt us; People that have abused us, stolen from us, and made things hard for us.

Do we have to forgive them like Jesus did? After all, He was the Son of God, so He’s supposed to do this, right?

I really thought as a child that Jesus did what He did simply because He was the Son of God, and it was expected of Him.

To me, coming from a large family, it was kind of like how certain things were expected of my older siblings just because they were older. Us younger ones could get away with the things that the older ones couldn’t because less was expected of us.

I thought It came easy to Jesus, being God’s Son. But I’ve learned over the years that He did what He did because of discipline and denying His own will.

He had discipline within Himself, and help from the Holy Spirit to keep that level of discipline alive.

You and I have that same help. The power and might from God, through the Holy Spirit, helps us to walk in discipline.

It’s the discipline of our heart wanting to do the right thing that allows the Holy Spirit to move in us.

The thing I had to learn is that my will plays an important role in all of this. It has to want to be disciplined.

Jesus’ forgiveness for these people at such a level as this came from His will to be disciplined, to be lined up with His Father’s will. His heart’s desire was to do only what His Father wanted Him to do.

Luke 22:42 (NKJV) 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

When we will to do right, to put God’s wants before our own, this is the result we get.

And when we have a heart that wants what is best, no matter what people have done to us or against us, forgiveness will be there!

Some of us today are bound up and miserable because of unforgiveness in our hearts. It’s killing us.

In this situation, our will is not willing to do what is right.

Make a statement today, through discipline. Tell your will “it will obey” and be willing to let go and forgive. Hold no memories of what was done to us.

Jesus, even though He died on that cross, was set free. He rose on the third day and was alive again!

Today is like our very own third day if we will let this unforgiveness go. We will come alive! Our heart will beat again, and the bonds of unforgiveness will be broken.

Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
