Bible Verse of The Day – 3-31-14

Hebrews 1:10 (NKJV) 10 And, You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11 They will perish, but You remain…

Are there things that you’re unsure of? Are there things that trouble you and cause you to question things about your life?

We probably all wrestle with certain things and there are probably things that we all struggle with from time to time. No matter who we are, or who we might happen to interact with, someone is going through a trial of some kind.

We all try to hide our fears and concerns. Some of us do a better job of covering it up than others.

But in all of our doubt, concern and fear, there is one thing that is sure, and that is this; though the heavens and the earth may perish, God will remain.

There are so many things that come our way, so many things that can try to bring us down. Sometimes we might shake our heads and wonder how we can take one more thing. But through it all, God is our foundation and our source.

Though things and people will let us down, God will forever be our foundation and our rock, if we let Him be!

Start your week off right. Take those things that are causing you stress and worry, and those things that are causing you to fear, and trust God with them. No, it’s not always easy to do, but trusting God with them is surely better than trying to figure them out by ourselves.

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-14

Galatians 5:13 NKJV)  For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Where do we find God in this world that is so big? God is everywhere, always working to help someone or some situation. He is always moving. Where there is a NEED, we will find Him.

It doesn’t matter who we are or how much we have, there is always something else we think we need.  We may have a lot of money already, but we want more. We may have a huge family, but no quiet time. We may have a big beautiful home, but no time to enjoy it.

We can always find something that we would like to have to make our situation better. Is it a legitimate need or is it just a want or desire?

Ask ourselves today, do we really need these things we have set our hearts after? Maybe we have all we need right now.

Have we gotten so caught up in what we think we need that now we cannot enjoy life without it or them? As long as we keep chasing these so called needs, there is no time for anyone or anything else.

We are all called to serve, not ourselves, but others, through love.

Putting aside ourselves today, and serving others, will fill that emptiness, bringing us joy and happiness that will last a long time.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-28-14

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Give Thanks. In Everything.

We’ve talked about this before, but we all need a friendly reminder once in a while.

Being thankful is something that some of us are better at than others. Sometimes we are in situations that make it hard to be thankful. Or at least we think it’s hard.

But most times it’s because we’re looking at things the wrong way. We get caught up in looking at what we don’t have, instead of being thankful for what we do have.

God has told us that in everything we need to give thanks!

So today, we want to encourage every one of you to give thanks, regardless of how bad things might be or might seem. Sometimes the darkest times in our lives can bring the most unexpected deliverances from God, if we just keep our faith intact and remain thankful.

Whether we have little or we have much, give thanks.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-27-14

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Fear. Most times when we think of this word, it isn’t related to anything good.

But there is actually a healthy kind of fear that we all learn to have when it comes to certain things in life.

We can fear burning our hand in a flame. We can fear shutting our fingers in a door. We can fear cutting ourselves with a sharp object. These are all healthy fears because they keep us from hurting ourselves.

The fear of God, though, is the healthiest kind of fear. If we are a child of God, we need to fear Him in a reverent way.. a way that shows reverence for Him because of who He is. We don’t walk around being afraid of Him, but we know that He is all-powerful.

If someone doesn’t know God, they should fear the consequences of being judged by Him. I recall seeing a short clip of someone on TV the other day, a popular celebrity here in the USA, who was mocking God in a way that truly made me nauseous. I actually feared for this man’s life and his soul because of the things he was saying. I could only take hearing it for a few seconds before I just had to turn it off.

This man needs to fear God in a way that causes him to cry out to God and beg Him for mercy.

God says in His word that the fear of Him is the beginning of wisdom. We should all pray for this kind of wisdom and ask God to teach us to fear Him in a way that’s pleasing to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-14

(Psalm 37:4 NKJV)  Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

The word Delight is used as a verb in this verse and a verb implies action. According to the Webster dictionary delight means to make (someone) very happy : to give (someone) great pleasure or satisfaction.

Make and give are both action words, meaning we will have to do something.

When we delight ourselves in the Lord, we give to Him straight from our heart. We make Him very happy as we show Him how much we love Him.

How do we show love to a God so Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Almighty and Magnificent? We follow His word.

(Psalm 119:105 NKJV)  Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Don’t focus on trying to be perfect. We need to focus on one day at a time.

We need to love God with all our hearts and let Him help us get through each day. He will give us the desires of our hearts as we delight ourselves in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-14

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

So many times we have people ask us “why did God do this to me?”. They tell us about how God has done good things for them and they felt like they were headed in the right direction, and then they encounter a trial or rough time.

And suddenly they are asking why God would “do this to them”. “Why did God pick me up and make me think everything was going to be OK, just to do this to me and crush me again?”

Well, we can’t speak for every single situation, but we can say this. God has never, ever promised us that we won’t go through stuff. He never told us “follow me and I will make your path trouble-free and full of miracles for the rest of your life”.

On the contrary, God has told us that we will go through trials and storms. And there will be times in our life when we feel like everything is crashing down around us. And there will be days when we wonder how we can go on.

But it’s in these times when God has promised to hold us up. It’s in these times when He has promised to be that rock that we need in order to be able to weather the storm and come through it still standing.

Facing adverse times doesn’t mean that God has abandoned us or picked us up only to crush us again. Adversity comes. It’s just part of life, and we need to accept that fact.

But what God does offer us is strength to endure the storm. He offers us hope to see past the storm. And He becomes our rock, our foundation, if we let Him.

the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”

Are our lives founded on the Rock? They should be! And if they’re not, it’s never too late to do the right thing and start fresh, building our new life on that Rock.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-24-14

(Proverbs 17:14 NKJV)  The beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts.

Contention: something (such as a belief, opinion, or idea) that is argued or stated.

Contention works through the flesh and it is right in there with (Galatians 5:20 NKJV)  idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies…

And God tells us  in (Galatians 5:21 NKJV)  those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Those who look for arguments walk in contention. Contention lives to have the last word, even if it’s wrong. A lot of family feuds come from contention. It’s time to shut it down on our end.

We have the choice and the freedom to stop it. In fact God would want us to do that very thing. How do we stop it from working through us or against us?

We don’t argue. We don’t try to get the last word in. Even though the person may be wrong in what they are saying or doing, and we disagree with them. We as God’s children need not argue.

But, what we need is His guidance, wisdom and understanding on how to handle the situation. Do we address it or simply walk away and leave it alone?

If a person has no-one to argue with, then it’s over. That is how we shut it down and stop the quarrel. Done.

So if someone is trying to keep an argument or contention going with us today, guess what! We have the power to end it, by simply not arguing back.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-14

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NKJV) 4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails…

No commentary is needed for this one.

Love Wins.

Love like you’ve never loved before.

Be blessed in all you do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-21-14

(1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV)  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Yesterday I got to spend some time with my grandchildren, 5 & 6 yrs. old. As we were playing, I looked around at their bedrooms. I begin to share with them how God sure did bless them.

I went on to share with them how wonderful it was that they had such beautiful things. I said to them, “look at all your wonderful toys and your beautiful bedrooms, oh how nice mommy and daddy have made it for you. Your house is nice and warm and your kitchen is filled with food. God has blessed you and It blesses me to see such wonderful blessings!”

They both got all excited and started to look around and they too began to add to the list of things that they considered a blessing. I shared with them how they need to always remember to thank God, for without Him we would have nothing and He likes when we give Him thanks.

Take a few minutes today and look around. Find the things that God has blessed us with and just thank Him, for He is GOOD!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-14

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

How many of you reading this are facing a struggle right now?

And how many of you who just nodded your head “yes”, are facing struggles of what seems like impossible odds, where it looks like there is just no way to overcome those struggles and see victory?

Well, we have a word for you today!

With God All Things Are Possible“!

Oh, I know that sounds cliché’. But it’s absolute truth, and when we learn to look past our human intellect, human logic and human understanding, and see things through eyes of faith, then God can move on our behalf!

We try so hard to fix the things that are broken, but all we do is make it harder! We only have limited understanding when it comes to the problems we face. But God understands it all and knows what it takes to fix broken things.

And the funny part is that when God does it, it’s never the way we would have expected it to happen. And why is that? Because He wants, and deserves, the glory for it.

If everything got fixed the way we expected it to get fixed, we would never know that it was God who did it for us.

So, today, believe for the impossible. Let go of your mess, your trial and your struggle. Give it over to the One who has the answer… the correct answer!

With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-19-14

(Matthew 8:2-3 NKJV)  And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” {3} Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Oh how He is willing! His hand is reaching out to us today.

Are we suffering? Are we holding our hand back because we think we don’t deserve healing?

None of us deserve His healing. We are all sinners. That is what’s so wonderful about Him, that in spite of our sinful condition, He still loves us and wants to save us and heal us.

Let us come to Him and worship Him today. He is willing to heal, deliver, save, restore, rebuild and bring Victory to us!!

God wants to heal some of you today, right now… Reach out to Him, touch His hand and receive your healing today.

Dear God in Heaven,

Our wonderful Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. I’m thankful for all that You have done for me. I come to You today and bow before You with a heart of worship. I give You praise for You are a Mighty King!

Thank You dear God for sending Jesus to die on the cross for me and for saving my soul. Today I take my hand and reach out to You and touch Your healing hand, believing that You are willing to cleanse me, just as You cleansed the leper.

I pray this prayer, believing for Your healing, In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
