Bible Verse of The Day – 1-31-21 – The Washing

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Have you had your feet washed recently?

No, we’re not referring to you washing them yourself while showering or bathing. We’re referring to having someone else wash them as an act of obedience and servanthood.

In our video today, “The Washing”, we teach about the spiritual symbolism in the final act of Jesus with the Disciples before He was captured and taken to be beaten and, ultimately, crucified.

There is a lot to learn from this, so we hope you’ll watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Remember, it’s about much more than washing someone’s feet.

We love you all.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-30-21

Daniel 3:19-20 (NKJV) 19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the expression on his face changed toward Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. He spoke and commanded that they heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. 20 And he commanded certain mighty men of valor who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego had angered Nebuchadnezzar by refusing to worship the gold statue he had created.

They showed their loyalty to the one true God by stating very boldly to the king that “we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up”.

Needless to say, Nebuchadnezzar was irate. At this point he commanded that the furnace be heated up to 7 times hotter than normal.

The fire was so hot that it killed the men who threw them into the fire.

A short time after they had been thrown in, the king couldn’t believe what he saw.

In verse 24, He exclaimed, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?”.

The people confirmed this.

And then he proclaimed (in verse 25) that he could see “four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

King Nebuchadnezzar immediately called the three men out from the fire and was in awe that none of them were hurt.

None of them even had so much as the smell of fire on them or their garments.

Because of what he had witnessed, Nebuchadnezzar glorified God and immediately made a proclamation that no one would be allowed to speak anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego without punishment by death.

So often in our own lives, we pray and ask God to deliver us from the things that we are facing. We don’t want to go through pain or discomfort.

But if we look at the example above, we will see that these men of God actually had to go through the fire before they were delivered!

They didn’t see a hand sweeping down and removing the trial in front of them. Instead, they were allowed by God to be thrown into an incredibly hot furnace where He then showed His hand and prevented them from being hurt or burned alive.

By this God was glorified.

Had Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego not been thrown into the furnace, the king would never have glorified God. Neither would the men of God have been able to witness God’s miraculous hand of rescue from such a dire situation.

None of us likes the fire of trials. In fact, we probably despise them and will go to great lengths to avoid them or prevent them.

But it’s safe to say that it is only during times of great trial that we can see great moves of God on our behalf.

James 1:2-3 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-29-21

John 9:4-5 (NKJV) 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Let’s pick up where we left off yesterday.

Jesus was to heal the blind man so that they could see the power of God in Him, and so they would acknowledge that He was the Christ and Savior of the world.

There was a purpose for this man’s blindness. It was to reveal God’s power working through His Son.

The eyes of many hearts needed to be opened.

Jesus had a limited amount of time to do the work of His Father. He had an ordained time frame in which to get certain things accomplished in certain places, for certain people to observe. It was a God-given, God-ordained plan.

Jesus Had a purpose here, and so do we.

This blind man was asked, “who healed you?”. He told them exactly what happened.

Isn’t that all we need to do, tell people exactly who Jesus is and what He has done throughout our lives?

Sometimes I wonder if we complicate this whole process or experience of being a child of God, when all He really wants us to do is to share His word and testify of His goodness.

Maybe some of us don’t quite have a testimony yet. We have been too wrapped up in our own blindness about our situation to even let God do something about it.

Sometimes our desire for sympathy will keep us blind.

John 9:11 (NKJV) 11 He answered and said, “A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and I received sight.”

It’s funny how this story is about a blind man that was given his sight.

I would say that these religious people had an issue with truth vs. intellect.

Even after this man testified about what happened, and the result was staring them in the face, they still wouldn’t see or believe!

John 9:28 (NKJV) 28 Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples.

They refused to see the truth. They were closed-hearted.

They reviled him instead.

What does revile mean? It means that they criticized, abused and angrily insulted him.

Boy…now doesn’t this sound familiar, when someone doesn’t agree with our thinking?

God is speaking to someone’s heart today.

He is saying, “the truth is standing right in front of you and you still want to argue the point instead of accepting it for what it’s worth. Will you choose to remain blind or will you let me give you your sight?”.

This blind man had a purpose. He was there for God’s work to be revealed through His Son. He healed the blind man.

Some saw it and some heard it. But the religious people could not see the truth of it as it stood before them.

Don’t let our intellect blind us from what God wants to show us by faith!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-28-21

John 9:1 (NKJV) 1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

He saw a man who was blind from birth.

His disciples were curious to know why he was born like this. They asked was it his sin that caused this or the sins of his parents?

John 9:2 (NKJV) 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”

Jesus answered them and told them neither. He was born like this that the works of God may be revealed in him.

John 9:3 (NKJV) 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

Some may say, “that poor man. He had to be blind so that others could see the works of God?”.

No. You see, that’s the problem with our thinking.

We think God is obligated to give us a certain lifestyle when we become His child. We think our lives are about us.

Wrong!

This is a misconception for those who want to walk around living a fake, presumptuous lifestyle.

We need to understand that our walk with God is not always going to be a beautiful fairy tale dream come true, where we’re constantly walking in His blessings, with no problems whatsoever.

Some walks are very difficult. That is why we must be prepared and ready for whatever cross we need to carry.

Our life, our walk here, is not about us as the world tries to ingrain into us. It is always about God and what He wants to do through us.

This man’s purpose was being blind for a time.

Wow! That just hit something!

That can sure change things up a bit in today’s prosperity “bless me” teachings.

Did a man’s blindness have a purpose? Absolutely!

His purpose was being just that; born blind so God could be glorified.

Did he get healed? Let’s take a look.

John 9:7 (NKJV) 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

Yes, praise God, he was healed!

And boy did that stir up some things and bring to light how the intellect can be way off at times.

You will have to tune in to tomorrow’s devotional as we take it a step further.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-27-21

Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those who call evil good.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Wrong is right. Up is down. Forward is backward. Dark is light, and light is dark.

This is what we’re hearing today from just about everyone who calls themselves leaders.

It’s on TV, in the movies, in music and in governments around the world.

Greed and the lust for power have taken over, and we are on the edge of being plunged into a level of darkness that most of us have never experienced before, and probably thought we would never see in our lifetimes.

We are under constant attack from sources that want us to trust them.

They feed us a false narrative, knowing that it is meant to do nothing more than program us and lull our minds into believing it as truth.

But there is one thing that they don’t know and don’t understand.

As believers, we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us, guiding us and helping us to discern good from evil.

He will show us what to do, when to do it, how to do it and where to do it.

He will light our way and show us the path to take.

And He will give us Spirit-led insights and wisdom, if we allow Him to do so.

As we have mentioned many times over the last few years, we are at war. It is not a war in the natural, but a spiritual war that can only be fought in the spirit realm.

Guns and other physical weapons can protect our natural bodies. But they will do no good when it comes to protecting our spirits.

For that, we need the word of God and the Spirit of God, working in tandem to teach us, train us and prepare us.

This is not meant to be a “dark” message, or a message to bring fear to your hearts. It is meant to shine a light on the darkness around us and expose it, so we will be aware and equipped for what God has placed before us.

So, we urge you to draw near to Him. Look to Him for guidance, truth and, most of all, hope.

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-26-21

Galatians 3:26-28 (NKJV) 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Son, daughter, child of God; that’s what we are. How?

Through faith in Christ Jesus.

If we don’t believe Jesus is Who He says He is, then we don’t belong to Him. That’s it; simply, our faith in Jesus determines this fact.

We have put on Christ. Now we are no longer any better or any less than anyone else. We are all one in Him.

What a beautiful thing He has done for us. The Lord does not look down His nose at us about anything. Instead, He wants to see us grow, mature and be blessed. He’s rooting for us to move to the path He has for us.

That means we can all stop judging and comparing.

We are all equal in God’s eyes when we become His child. Not one of us is better than the other. We all have our issues, so to speak.

We’re praying for you no matter what you have done, no matter what you’ve been through, no matter who you are or who you aren’t.

As part of the body of Christ, we love you and will pray for you and be happy and excited for you when we see you grow and change in Christ.

We will praise God for you and in the hopes that you too will pray for us.

God bless you and all that He has for your life. May you walk in it every day and flourish in His love. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-25-21

Proverbs 9:7-9 (NKJV) 7 “He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. 8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

Talking with certain people can sometimes be very difficult, especially with regard to sharing insights with them that may help give them understanding about certain topics.

It can be downright exasperating, to be honest with you.

This can hold true for sharing Biblical truth with people. Some people just won’t listen to anything we might try to share with them. They are scoffers (mockers).

The verses above tell us that doing this will cause us to get hurt. Sometimes that hurt might be verbal or emotional. Other times, in extreme cases, it might mean physical harm.

Look at what it tells us, though, about correcting or rebuking a wise man; he will love us.

You see, some people just plain won’t hear anything we tell them because their minds and their hearts are closed, clamped shut, with no desire whatsoever to learn, grow or know the truth.

Does that mean that we should never share the truth with people? Absolutely not!

But, when we do share, we need to use the wisdom and discernment of the Holy Spirit to know when to share and when to pull back.

He will guide us if we let Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-23-21

Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

As a Believer, I look around and there are many things that make me shudder these days.

Evil has been brought to light. It’s not hidden anymore. Things that once would not have been allowed are now very easily accepted.

So very sad, and it can make us feel helpless and fearful of what’s up ahead.

But we cannot let fear of the unknown set in. That is not a healthy kind of fear to have as a child of God.

In situations like these, we need to pull back. We need not dwell on what we see is going on around us, but rest in knowing that God will lead us all in what to do.

He has a plan and His plan is AWESOME! His plan is to WIN and not just a little win, but a BIG win. God does nothing little.

He is Omnipotent, He is Omnipresent and He is Omniscient, a Mighty God is He!!

Fearing a situation that we have no control over is not of God. He is the One who can turn all things around and put things in their proper place. Now that’s the One we should be fearful of or in AWE of.

Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV) 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

To glory in anything means to take great pleasure in. We don’t fear. Instead, we take pleasure in difficult or heavy times.

Why? because we fear the Lord, and because He will give us knowledge in all that we need to do.

I have watched Him do things that I can’t even explain at times. I look around and see His beauty and magnificence in creation itself.

I look at humans and their incredible ability to do what we do, because of Him putting us together the way He did!

I see the birth of child and the way it is wonderfully and fearfully made, and I fall to my knees in AWE, knowing that we are in the palm of Papa’s hands.

None of what this world throws at us can harm us.

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

He is in control. I don’t fear what may come at me. I pray that the efforts I put forth will be pleasing and that He may say, “well done, good and faithful servant”.

Fear the Lord…not our circumstances. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-22-21

Job 38:4 (NKJV) 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

“Where were you?”

These are the words that God spoke to Job after he had spent many days questioning Him about the recent events in his life.

Job had been stricken with physical ailments, as well as suffering the loss of his children and all of his material possessions.

During many days of debates with his friends, Job had vehemently attested to his own innocence, and that it was unfair for him to have been subjected to this kind of treatment by God.

He wished to stand before God and plead his case, proving his innocence.

After a time, God spoke to Job. And when he did, it wasn’t anything close to being what Job had hoped for.

He started off with this:

Job 38:2-3 (NKJV) 2 “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? 3 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

And then God promptly put Job in his place, asking him, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?”.

Needless to say, this trimmed Job down to size in a hurry, humbling him, to say the least.

Over the years, these words spoken by God have always kept me on my toes, as the Holy Spirit reminds me of God’s sovereignty in all things.

And I have learned to never question God about anything, no matter how little I understand about it.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-21-21

Psalm 32:8 (NKJV) 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

He will instruct, teach and guide us with His eye.

This is as clear as we can get. There is no mystery. There is no trying to figure out what He is saying. There is no way that we can misunderstand what is being said here.

When we get the reason why we live, we will love that we have Someone to instruct us, teach us and guide us on the how, what and when of it all.

Learning how to follow Him is something we must work at each day. But, if we listen and we watch, He will be sure to show us.

Do you feel like you have been living your life your own way?

Do you feel that things in your life could be better, but you have reached the limits of how far your understanding and knowledge can take you?

Do you feel like the road you travel, you travel alone?

It’s time to let God travel with you, my friend. You were never meant to go this journey on your own.

He will guide you with His eye.
